The Obama regime has been doing everything possible to cripple American energy resources. He has rejected the Keystone Pipeline, which will send Canada’s oil to China.
But have no fear. Obama’s great relationship with Brazil and the loan guarantees the American taxpayers have given, will get us Brazilian oil. Right?
Well, maybe not.
From the Washington Times:
Off the coast of Rio de Janeiro — below a mile of water and two miles of shifting rock, sand and salt — is an ultradeep sea of oil that could turn Brazil into the world’s fourth-largest oil producer, behind Russia, Saudi Arabia and the United States.
The country’s state-controlled oil company, Petrobras, expects to pump 4.9 million barrels a day from the country’s oil fields by 2020, with 40 percent of that coming from the seabed. One and a half million barrels will be bound for export markets.
The United States wants it, but China is getting it.
Less than a month after President Obama visited Brazil in March to make a pitch for oil, Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff was off to Beijing to sign oil contracts with two huge state-owned Chinese companies.
The deals are part of a growing oil relationship between the two countries that, thanks to a series of billion-dollar agreements, is giving China greater influence over Brazil’s oil frontier.
Chinese oil companies are pushing to meet mandatory expansion targets by inking deals across Africa and Latin America, but they are especially interested in Brazil.
Great. Not only is Obama destroying our energy resources, but the foreign resources that we are giving our tax dollars to help develop are going to our arch rival, China.
Great. Another fine victory from the Obama regime.
To err is human, but to really screw things up, you need to Obama regime.
There is an alternative. We can get leadership in office who will work to crash oil prices for Americans.
Of course, Obama has no interest in Americans having cheap and abundant fuel. That is not in his socialist dream for America.

Permalink Reply by NWBill on Neither. This is all a part of a plan. Remember - he said that he was going to "fundamentally transform" America. That's exactly what the last 3 1/2 years have been about. He wants to make Americans completely dependent on their government, and he also wants to remove American exceptionalism, while minimizing our influence in world affairs. EVERYTHING he does is geared towards furthering those goals. When you view all that through this lens, his strategies and tactics make sense.
In his mind, getting elected gave him a mandate to do exactly what he's done. He thinks that he has the American people's permission for all of this stuff. That's why he shirks and goes around the Constitution so much; to him, the 2008 election put him above the Constitution's limits. That's why we have czars, ObamaCare, no energy policy, we're retreating from wars and conflicts we are in the process of winning, and so many other things.
Read Saul Alinsky's book - and then study what Obama did as a Illinois state senator and in the US Senate. Look at the people around him. Research the things he's said to defend his actions (or inactions). For instance, deciding against the Keystone pipeline project does several things for him at once; it placates the environmental lobby, which is in bed with him ... it keeps oil and gas costs in the country high (so that people drive less and rely on public transportation - government and state programs - more ... and it favors China, who Obama wanted the Canadian oil to go to in the first place. Bringing it here would boost OUR economy at the expense of China's (or Brazil's). Remember - America must no longer get the spoils and be powerful in Obama's mind. So, all that oil goes to someone else, instead of America.
Remember what he told the crowds in Cairo and Europe - he sees himself as a world citizen ... and the fact that he leads America doesn't concern him as much as remaking America into just another country does.
In a way, it's all very diabolical ... but, like a mad scientist, Obama has his own reasons for doing what he does. it's just that, in today's Internet age, the information that unlocks the key is there - all you have to do is dig for it.

When the project began it should never have been routed through the Ogalla Acufer in Nebraska. The shortest route would take them through the envirolmentalist in Montana and Wyoming. Another reason was to pick up the oil in western North Dakota. Even Bonner wants to proced and he doesn't have any idea the future problems it could cause. As far a I am concerned it is the only thing the Obama has done right and he doesn't even know what he has done for Nebraska and the United States. Look at the whole project and what it should and shouldn't accomplish. As far as china, that isn't going to happen, it is just a scare tactic...

The Ogalla Acufer is crisscrossed by literally hundreds of pipelines already. Some quite old, and entirely subsurface..
Crude oil, petrochemical, refined products and other stuff. The Ogalla Acufer is the pink area, obviously.
Those who claim significant danger have probably spent entirely too much of their time on on Greenie websites, or at LovemyObama.com.

Permalink Reply by NWBill on Vern's right. There really aren't any environmental issues here in this deal; this is pure politics, nothing else. Obama does NOT want the American oil industry to expand - THAT is his primary goal here. Secondly, he would prefer that China get the oil from Canada instead of us (we're not supposed to be powerful or exceptional, remember?). The enviros have already agreed to the pipeline being moved to "safer" areas, so that's a non-issue.
This is about Obama keeping his foot on the throat of the American oil industry.

After all they shut down our drilling efforts since the BP oil Spill just so they have power over our Energy Sector where by we would have been Self Reliant by now. They are not fooling this guy that's for sure. OPEQ would've been cut off by us and really hurting by now. Because we would have other options for exporting and making money for us no? They do it Russia does it why not us. If Canada has enough oil and we are in North America as well then it would only make sense that we have plenty right underneath us.Just think China needs Oil Hmmmm!

Oh and to help pay for the photo energy and wind power...
