What a weekend.  We have had one major potential GOP candidate, Mike Huckabee pull out.  Another major RINO has self-destructed.

The other major RINO is Newt Gingrich.

Newt has not had a good start to his campaign.  He flip-flopped several times on Libya and then tried to explain previous marital infidelities as a consequence of his passion for politics.  Well, if he had left the last two words off, he might have done better.

Now, Newt has appeared on Meet the Press, or as Rush Limbaugh likes to call it, “Meet the depressed.”

While on the show, he slammed Paul Ryan’s ideas for Medicare reform.  He said, “I don’t think right-wing social engineering is any more desirable than left-wing social engineering,”

Instead of trying to work a plan to save a program that is broke, broken, and bereft of any possibility of success, Newt simply calls for “a national conversation” about how to improve Medicare mostly be eliminating “waste, fraud and abuse.”

Washington brain rot has set in and has claimed another casualty. It is official; Newt is now a political zombie.   He is lacking consciousness, yet he continues to stroll around, trying to feast on the flesh of the GOP faithful.

What conservative refers to anything another conservative offers as “radical?”  We conservatives may disagree at times, but radical?  Did Nancy Pelosi channel her progressive agenda into him while they cozied up on that global warming couch?

When are the nimrods in Washington, including Newt, going to realize that we do not want “conversations” about problems?  We have had conversations about Medicare and Social Security for the last thirty years.  They have not solved the problem.  Social Security and Medicare’s insolvency problems are getting worse and now the date of their insolvency is now sooner rather than later.

Perhaps most stunning of all, Newt the zombie is saying he favors a variation of the individual mandate.  He said, “I believe all of us have a responsibility to pay for healthcare.”

Perhaps the obvious question is, does Newt know which party he is running for?   Is Newt now just Obama-lite?

Perhaps this is all political calculus on Newt’s part.  He figures he will not get the Tea Party vote and Romney has the RINO vote sewed up, so he might as well go for the liberal vote.

On May 9th, I blogged and said Newt would be the first man out.  Since Huckabee never entered the race, he has not beat Newt out.  Watching someone who was once a conservative self-destruct is not a pretty sight.   If it were not for Newt, Republicans might have never taken over the House of Representatives.

Unfortunately for Newt, Washington brain rot has set in and he now resembles a creature from the political version of “Night of the Living Dead.”

In the zombie movies, the only way to get rid of them was to shoot them.  Fortunately for Newt, we do not have to shoot him.  All we have to do is ignore him, not contribute to his campaign and let his political aspirations collapse.

Newt, go back to Georgia. Perhaps your Washington brain rot will heal in time.

Why is he not President?  He should run for a position in NATO.
He can work at the IRS with Timmy, just another tax cheat.

Mike complained about Michele's voting:  ".....and her yes votes that extended the Patriot Act."

Do you want to be the person who kills the Patriot Act?

1. Do you know anyone who has lost their freedom because of it?

2. Would you like to be responsible for the next major Islamic attack on the US?

So, who do you like Mr. Judson? I haven't seen an endorsement on a candidate from you. Probably missed it - so remind me of who you support?
There are several I am thinking about.  I am going to endorse someone sometime this summer.

That is better timing.

It is too early right now.

I don't think so - the earlier we know the better a chance we get to really know who we're supporting. Wait too long and it is a done deal. We're already seeing people drop - you wait too long and there won't be anyone left to choose from. Besides, now you might have an impact - a positive one.

Judson,   I  totally  agree,  I did miss  his  interview  on  "Meet  the  depressed",   but,  agree  totally  with  what  you  are  saying.....is  this  RHINO  truly  gone....hehe.....

And  I have  been  saying  for  months   "Tired of  the  conversations/discussions....been  going  on  to  long...Really  time  to    DO.......!!!!!!!

I  have  a  question  for you...regarding  Social  Security  and   Medicare,    who  are  these   "TRUSTEES"   that  keep  telling us  that  they  are  broke  and  going  to be  totally  defunct  by    ??2015??....sounds like  another  liberal  type  lie/scare.......???????????

please clarify 'trustees' clarice. if you're referring to the social security trust fund, it's the progs who

are assuring us of it's solvency through 2037. we have already replaced the actual dollars in the

fund with promissory notes (treasury bonds), and because of a decline in 'contributions' and bond

return, the fund has been losing value for the last eight years or so. the fed keeps the account on track

by diverting the losses and adding them to our budget deficit...b

I consider Gingrich to be a true Patriot. His efforts during the Clinton years to keep the budget in line are notable. If you've ever heard his presentation about Washington crossing the Potomac, and what that army went through in the name of Liberty, you can appreciate his dedication to this Republic. Having said that, his understanding of what the Conservatives in this country are demanding is woefully inadequate. Either that, or he is taking the centrist, "Statesman" role and running with  it in the hope undecided Independents get cold feet and flee to a person less contentious for President.

We can't allow him, or any other centrist, to get the nomination. I feel that would be the death knell for the Tea Party movement, and in a larger sense result in a passive Presidency, unwilling to do what is necessary to kill Obamacare and reverse 60 years of Great Society legislation. If he or she defeats Obama at all. And that would be unthinkable.

It may just very well be that the TEA party movement is purely the American movement; and with that, indeed much larger than the static, formal, and active Republican party is.  We should know that we do outnumber those establishment RINOs that are working to build their republican fortress at the expense of our American ideals; and we also know that without us Americans, the republican party pales in comparison [and perhaps loses its backbone].
Newt also supports the Obamacare mandate according to Newsmax.
