What a weekend.  We have had one major potential GOP candidate, Mike Huckabee pull out.  Another major RINO has self-destructed.

The other major RINO is Newt Gingrich.

Newt has not had a good start to his campaign.  He flip-flopped several times on Libya and then tried to explain previous marital infidelities as a consequence of his passion for politics.  Well, if he had left the last two words off, he might have done better.

Now, Newt has appeared on Meet the Press, or as Rush Limbaugh likes to call it, “Meet the depressed.”

While on the show, he slammed Paul Ryan’s ideas for Medicare reform.  He said, “I don’t think right-wing social engineering is any more desirable than left-wing social engineering,”

Instead of trying to work a plan to save a program that is broke, broken, and bereft of any possibility of success, Newt simply calls for “a national conversation” about how to improve Medicare mostly be eliminating “waste, fraud and abuse.”

Washington brain rot has set in and has claimed another casualty. It is official; Newt is now a political zombie.   He is lacking consciousness, yet he continues to stroll around, trying to feast on the flesh of the GOP faithful.

What conservative refers to anything another conservative offers as “radical?”  We conservatives may disagree at times, but radical?  Did Nancy Pelosi channel her progressive agenda into him while they cozied up on that global warming couch?

When are the nimrods in Washington, including Newt, going to realize that we do not want “conversations” about problems?  We have had conversations about Medicare and Social Security for the last thirty years.  They have not solved the problem.  Social Security and Medicare’s insolvency problems are getting worse and now the date of their insolvency is now sooner rather than later.

Perhaps most stunning of all, Newt the zombie is saying he favors a variation of the individual mandate.  He said, “I believe all of us have a responsibility to pay for healthcare.”

Perhaps the obvious question is, does Newt know which party he is running for?   Is Newt now just Obama-lite?

Perhaps this is all political calculus on Newt’s part.  He figures he will not get the Tea Party vote and Romney has the RINO vote sewed up, so he might as well go for the liberal vote.

On May 9th, I blogged and said Newt would be the first man out.  Since Huckabee never entered the race, he has not beat Newt out.  Watching someone who was once a conservative self-destruct is not a pretty sight.   If it were not for Newt, Republicans might have never taken over the House of Representatives.

Unfortunately for Newt, Washington brain rot has set in and he now resembles a creature from the political version of “Night of the Living Dead.”

In the zombie movies, the only way to get rid of them was to shoot them.  Fortunately for Newt, we do not have to shoot him.  All we have to do is ignore him, not contribute to his campaign and let his political aspirations collapse.

Newt, go back to Georgia. Perhaps your Washington brain rot will heal in time.

Seems to me, Judson, you find fault with every single one of them.  Jesus isn't available right now to run.  You're so good at picking every potential nominee apart, why don't you run?
No, there are a couple I have not said a negative thing about.  But when you have someone going off the reservation like Newt is, he should be called on it.
Judson i do agree with you , you do have to call them out on the things that we do not believe in ...
AMEN!!!!!!
I must agree that there are more useful ways to register a complaint.

Glad to see that Hucklberry dropped out. The act of a patriot! Wish RP would would be so patriotic. Thirty years of being a loser should be more than enough. A loser, plain and simple. I shall refrain from calling him an a$$hole. That might be seen as a personal attack by some here!l

What we need in the White house is a person who will have the ability to size up the problem and go to work to undo the damage that has been done, to include, repairing our damaged image the world wide repair our foreign policy. That person, also, needs to kick Hillary Clinton far away from Washington DC, duck tape Harry Reid and Chuck Schumer's mouth. Take the keys away from Nancy Pelosi, and to fire for cause Janet N., fire for inept work performance Eric Holder. That is the first day on the job.
And the department of elevation, keep giving them degrees so that it hides that brain rot, the DOE needs retirement as well.
YOU are absolutely right, I couldn't have said it better!! EXCELLENT !! I just kne wthere had to be a few CLEAR thinking people out there that are paying attention to what is going on !!  This nation is going to pot & everyone is standing around wringing their hands......times to CLEAN HOUSE!!   GREAT comments!

Yes, and that person also must have the God-Given Gift of perceiving the solution for financial disasters. I also want someone who means what he says when he commits to me. If they have not meant what they said to a wife, I do NOT believe them! What some who are unfamiliar with the intricacies of particular religious beliefs may perceive as inconsistencies are often merely misconceptions on their part. (For instance, some religions do allow for terminating pregnancies forced on women or endangering to their life, rather than forcing them to go forward at all cost. Hence, a belief that in certain cases medicaid may assist a young girl with this can be up for debate.) This has always been difficult for me personally, as my instinct is "Never". But, consider the plight of the 11 year old, impregnated by her father, taken by the state for her own safety. The only option available to her is Medicaid. Obviously, her actual life is in danger, as well as any future she might hope to have had, in attempting to give birth.

One other thing to bear in mind: States have made multiple accommodations to the uninsured and the poor since the Democrats forced Obamacare down our throats. While still a problem, it is not nearly the issue it was when Mitt Romney and the MA Legislature put in "Romneycare." Note that he did not put insurance agents or companies out of business nor send multitudes of physicians into retirement.

I know of such a situation you describe, an 11 yr. old impregnated by her "father". Mother stood by her daughter and their beliefs. Dad committed suicide shortly after being found out. A beautiful baby boy was born by C-Section at 9 months and adopted by a Christian family longing for a sweet child made by God and given to them to raise. The 11 yr. old mother/child went on being an 11 yr. old with a wonderful mother beside her and will always know she and her mother chose life. What a beautiful testimony to what can be made of a terrible set of circumstances. Destroying what God has made can never be the answer. We must go way deeper than our emotional reactions. God will be there every step of the way. Extraordinary circumstances demand extraordinary actions.

Doctors, hospitals and community have and are willing to take on extraordinary circumstances and support each other. We don't need Uncle Sam to catch us if we fall. Before long Uncle Sam is tripping us so we will fall into "his" total care, ie, slavery.

Debrajoe, the candidate you and those replying to your post are describing perfectly is Herman Cain. If elected, he will set this country back on the correct path; that is to say back to financial stability and back to American exceptionalism. A successful businessman who has never held public office and who knows how to solve problems such as our debt crisis. On top of that, as he says himself, his candidacy takes the "race card" off the table.
