As much as I can appreciate Sarah Palin's hard work, her voice and her views, I do not believe she is a Representative of the Tea Party Members, nor should she be perceived as the Leader of the Tea Party Nation. She is only one voice.

As time moves on, Ms. Palin is beginning to endorse specific Republican candidates. For example, today, she spoke out and chose to support Governor Rick Perry for the Texas Governor's Race.

As a Texan, I do not support Governor Perry. I do not want Toll Roads, There are horrific problems with our boarders and illegal immigration. I do not agree with No Child Left Behind or Governor Perry's lack of involvement in improving Public Education. I was shocked by his Executive Order for Manditory HPV Vaccines for young girls. Let us not forget, that through the Recovery Act, Texas has been awarded $12,767,250,000.00 in Federal Funds and, to date, received $2,777,140,000.00. I can appreciate Governor Perry's outspoken rhetoric in 2009, but this is a new role for Rick Perry. Unfortunately, in my opinion, his days in politics are over; to include (if I may), Kay Baily Hutchinson.

Ms. Palin has spoken at several rallies and at this weekend's conference. But for the future, it might be wise to begin to bring in new voices, new faces to the rallies. Sarah Palin is beginning to look like a spokes-person for Tea Party Members and this is misleading.

One of my goals is to shake-up the existing two party system (for Texas Governor, Debra Medina) in order to take the needs of the American People seriously. Another goal is to shake-up our U.S. Representatives and Legislatures, so they may no longer take us for granted. Lifting up one individual and their views at this stage of the game (2010), as though they speak for the whole, may turn off some and alienate others. Remember, the tread that binds us are the Principles of the U.S. Constitution, along with the Bill of Rights.

NIc: I like Sarah a lot, but she is unelectable, as voting females would not vote for a pretty elegant female no matter what.
Nic, I think you are VERY wrong as at least 95% of the ladies I talk too, state they would vote for Sarah Palin.
Thank you Pam.
Your position is felt by many, many here.
But I believe one should always vote for the lessor of the evils, in your personal view.
Otherwise, just stay home and save the gas! Obama would perhaps thank thank you for that!
Global warming and all......No, that's Climate Change now, right?

Perhaps stay home and write a "letter to the editor"? More constructive, really!
Just a thought............
Interesting and insightful comment. Carol. And it applies in many ways!

This site, Tea Party Nation, has taken the position of not endorsing candidates in State primaries.
I personally believe that this is the best approach for a National group.
But some other National groups see it differently.

Whether I agree or disagree with them, I support other's rights to voice their endorsements and support! To do otherwise is, in my opinion, is to attempt to limit their right to speak! Who among us claims the right to limit the speech of others?
I agree with you in part, Mrs. Palin IS NOT the sole voice of the Tea Party Movement, WE ALL ARE but she has a very large microphone that we do not have. Mrs. Palin has done more to NATIONALIZE the movement and for that we should be apprecaitive.
There is something about Sarah Palin that liberals cannot stand and I say let her keep up the fight. Now is a time for CONSERVATIVES to stand together and not let alot of petty diffrences divide us.
I couldn't have said it better. I don't believe Sarah represents tea party values. I joined because I'm tired of the status quo. Her going around endorsing republican candidates then acting as though she represents the tea party is misleading. Rick Perry is an insider wanting to fill his pockets. He talks tough on border issues now that it's election time. To little to late!
