Today should be a good day for Rick Santorum.  Assuming he can keep his foot out of his mouth.    But as the pro-Romney media is so willing to point out, a win today does not stop Romney.

What has to happen?

We are going to have to do something totally unique in American politics.  We are going to have to borrow a page from the Tea Party movement.  We conservatives are going to have to rise up and lead our leaders.

Newt Gingrich cannot win the nomination based on winning delegates in the primaries.  Rick Santorum is not quite mathematically eliminated but he is getting close.   If either of them drops out, Romney wins.

If either of them drops out, conservatives lose.

There have been some suggestions that Santorum and Gingrich join forces to stop Romney.  For whatever reason, Gingrich and Santorum are not making that happen.

We the people need to make it happen so we can stop Romney.

Almost every day we see a new video coming out from the past of Mitt Romney.  Yesterday the Blaze unearthed an old video of Mitt Romney saying his only connection to the Republican Party was his party registration.  Before that was that famous video of him announcing he was a moderate, “a progressive.”

We all got a reality check this week when Romney campaign director Eric Fehrnstrom announced after the primary Romney would reset his campaign like an Etch a Sketch.   We all understood that.  He would go from “running like a conservative,” to being the liberal that he is.

We must support both candidates now to try and stop liberal Mitt Romney from becoming the nominee.

The campaigns may not unite but the supporters of both Newt Gingrich and Rick Santorum are conservatives and we must unite to stop the liberal wing of the Republican Party from winning.

If the campaigns will not talk to each other, the people must.  We must all work together to stop Romney.

When the Tea Party burst onto the scene, we did something amazing.  A leaderless movement totally changed the way America was talking.  We need to do that again.  Our war is with socialism and if we are not careful, we will end up with two candidates running for President who love socialism.  The only difference between them will be the degree to which they worship at the altar of big government.

There is one hard truth that I have accepted.  As I now fight to stop Romney, I realize if we go to a brokered convention, my candidate Newt Gingrich may well not win that fight.   As much as I would like him to be the nominee and as much as I believe he is absolutely the best candidate we have, if I have to see another conservative in his place in order to stop Mitt Romney, I am willing to see that happen.  Every Newt supporter should feel the same way.

Santorum supporters need to come to the same decision.   If we conservatives have to compromise and choose another conservative, someone other than Rick Santorum, in order to stop Mitt Romney, we should embrace this.

The Tea Party movement is about restoring a conservative, constitutional government to America.  It is about resetting our government so that it respects our inalienable rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

We will never protect those rights with a liberal in the White House and it does not matter which party that liberal comes from.  We must replace Barack Obama, but we gain little if we replace him with a Republican liberal who embraces most of the same policies.

This is freedom’s last stand.  If Romney wins, liberty loses.

This is why we must all unite to stop Romney and elect a conservative President this fall.

I watched a movie called AGENDA just last night and suddenly it dawns on me that Romney is a ringer for the socialists. That so many are falling for his BS is a microcosm of what has happened to America since the 60s. Cam had it right when he said recently, "Americans are dumb." Back in the 60s and mostly since then most Americans just weren't paying attention. Now that they are, they don't appear to be any smarter.

In the movie Broadcast News Wm. Hurt says, "What do you think the Devil is going to look like if he's around? Nobody is going to be taken in if he has a long, red, pointy tail. No. ... He will look attractive and he will be nice and helpful and he will get a job where he influences a great God-fearing nation and he will never do an evil thing... he will just bit by little bit lower standards where they are important. Just coax along flash over substance... Just a tiny bit."

News flash: Socialists will LIE to further their agenda! They will lie about who they are (BHO ring a bell?) and what they believe in. Letting Romney win the nomination is going to turn out badly no matter how you slice it!

BROKERED CONVENTION 2012!

Carol. You are ever so right. The one thing the devil will never do is utter the words, Jesus is God.  Obama won't say it, nor will obama lite aka Romney.

I am trying to figure out why and how Ron Paul is still in the race.  Who is paying for him and is he going to finagle a win as the nominee?  Scary thought to me.

Wrong Paul is in debt (so much for him being "so good with money"), and running on empty. He is no threat. His followers, however, are another story. They are whacked. But fortunately for us all, they are also dwindling in number, much like Paul's bank account.

AI, I am sure glad to hear that.

JMC, you said "Scary thought to me."  And to ever other Constitution hater.  The news hates him, Rush hates him. the rinos hate him as does the democrat and his gang.  No one that cares two hoots for the US Constitution could possibly like Dr. Paul, after all, he stands up for and votes for the US Constitution, he uses it to judge his votes.  So of course you don't understand why he is still in the race.  Maybe it is because a bunch of little nobodies like me keep him there.

But don't worry the elitist, the one world g0vt types, the rinos, the democrat and his gang, along with all of the other forces of evil will certainly keep Dr. Paul in his place.

Rev, and you are certainly entitled to your opinion as I am to mine.  I do not agree with Paul's foreign policy (talk about a one world government)  in any way shape or form plus a few other things.  I highly resent you calling me a "constitution hater" as that is the farthest thing from the truth.  I have gone to rallies and have had to deal with Paul supporters and they are right up there with the rude OWS crowd so pardon me if it is hard to support Ron Paul who also tolerates his angry supporters and even seems to like their rudeness.  As I said before Paul as president is a scary thought to me.  Just my opinion.

I have a hard time giving Paul a pass when he has a history of voting "with the Constitution" right after he loaded the same bill with his own pork.  That way he can claim to be pure, while taking advantage of the system (or game) at the same time.  This isn't any different for voting "for" something before voting "against" it.

This is a time for true leaders to emerge, not gamers.

the problem with a brokered convention where someone else is nominated is that the Republican voting base get totally disenfranchised. Let's see... So they sit and watch 20-30 debates over the past year, vet the candidates who ran, some people campaigned, made phone calls, put out yard signs, and then the base voted. Oh well, thanks for playing. Surprise! You, dear voters, do not have a voice at all in who the nominee is, we will pick. How that's gonna work out the next time the GOP runs a candidate (God forbid it's in 2016). Who will watch the debates? Who will vote? Everyone will say "why should I? My vote doesn't count, they will just pick whomever they want to be our candidate."  This is a VERY destructive idea! NO TO A NEW CANDIDATE!

Once again, Ms. Feckless shows a total lack of understanding about what is at stake. I would rather take my chances with a candidate yet-to-be-named picked by a roomful of red, white & blue American citizens than go with a sure threat picked for us by the leftist media and the self-serving GOP hierarchy.

Far from being an instrument of disenfranchisement, a brokered convention is part of the way the system was designed to work. In its 200+ years of existence that system has carried our nation to heights heretofore unheard of in the world and may well prove to be America's salvation against the socialest threat. Ms. Feckless may throw a tantrum and bemoan being "disenfranchised" but this patriot knows that at this tenuous moment in our history a brokered convention may be our only hope for survival.

Fully expecting, of course, the usual bratty and devoid-of-content reply.

David, I think that is an excellent way to put it -- reboot and reformat the whole damn process.  How can we do it?  Hell if I know, but that Get Out Of Our House idea sounds pretty good to start.  It is going to take people getting involved at the local level and reworking the whole system from the bottom up.  It isn't going to happen overnight or in one election.  I hate to say it, but everything is goint to take time and prolonged effort.  Getting involved in the educational system at the local level is huge, since it seems to have been infiltrated by nothing but liberals for decades.  The local school districts should be completely separated from having connections to the local taxing authority -- the liberals have been shaking the rest of us down through this type of scam for way too long.

Downy,

I have to disagree with you about people being well-informed. Too many are just anesthetized - they can tell you every detail of the Kardashian wedding/divorce but otherwise it's business as usual. One asked me in all earnestness, "What's the Constitution got to do with it?" Do you think that guy has the slightest clue why the Tea Party exists?

Don't kid yourself, for a lot of them those 30-second negative spots were all the education they got before voting.
