Jon Huntsman is thinking running again.

Run Jon Run.

You remember him.   He is the liberal Republican who ran earlier this year, got three votes in the primary before withdrawing and throwing his support to the other liberal in the Republican Primary, Mitt Romney.

From the Hill:

Jon Huntsman called for the rise of a third party on Thursday as he argued the remaining GOP presidential candidates lack big ideas.

The comments from the former Utah governor, who dropped out of the race in January after a disappointing showing in New Hampshire’s primary, were striking given his support for Mitt Romney, one of the four remaining GOP candidates for president.

"Gone are the days when the Republican Party used to put forward big, bold, visionary stuff," Huntsman said during an appearance on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe.”

"I see zero evidence of people getting out there and addressing the economic deficit — which is a national-security problem, for heaven's sake," he said. “I think we're going to have problems politically until we get some sort of third-party movement or some alternative voice out there that can put forward new ideas."

Huntsman, who also bemoaned Wednesday's GOP debate as "wasting time," quickly added that he had no interest in running as a third-party candidate.

"That ain't gonna be me, by the way; I know the next question. I'm not interested in that," he said.

Huntsman and Romney both hail from Utah and are longtime rivals with a cool relationship. During his campaign, Huntsman frequently criticized and even mocked Romney.

Still, the comments on Wednesday, coming about a month after Huntsman decided to endorse Romney, were striking.

No one ever accused Jon Huntsman of being the sharpest knife in the drawer but go for it Jon.

This is one of the best things that could happen to the conservative movement, assuming of course we manage to get a conservative nominated to be the Republican candidate.

It would be great to see a third party that would pull votes away from the Party of Treason.  We should encourage this early and often.

Does anyone remember 92 and 96, when Perot pulled away votes from George H.W. Bush and Bob Dole respectively?   Unfortunately there were no conservatives in the race then but seeing this replayed, except the votes being pulled away from the left is simply rich!

A conservative running against not only Barack Obama but another left of center candidate who will pull some of the vote away is a guarantee of victory in November.

Run Jon Run!

People who don't learn from history are condemned to repeat it. Ross Perot was a third candidate and gave the presidency to Bill Clinton.

You want to gaurantee a second term for this lying smarmy crook Obama?  A conservative pulling votes away from the left? In what Bizarro world do you see this happening?

A third party candidate is just what the democrats want.

How about Sarah and Herman that would be some vote.  Sarah handling the White House and Herman the money. We could be lean for a few years but between the two of them. The Country would come back to life and there would be life in the Houses again. God help us.

Democrats would vote for Huntsman.  That should tell you something.

I'm in for a third party Palin ticket.  Enough with the faux-conservatives we currently have.

In think there has been enough talk of a third party attempt this election cycle. If people want a third party start putting something together after the November election. This would make a lot of since. It would not only give the party time to develop and write it charter and mission statement but also give the electorate time to decide if they want a third party. I personally feel it would be a healthy contribution to the political scene in this country.

So let us all that want to have a third party wait until after the November election and then build a meaningful party.

I'm not sure that I agree with this completely. In theory Judson's logic is sound BUT it is possible that the voter base, despite his liberal views, may view Jon Huntsman as a stereotype Republican. Smart voters know that Huntsman is a liberal but with only 4 million viewers watching the GOP presidential candidate debates, do people really understand Huntsman. The majority of voters do not bother to watch the debates and understand the candidates. Huntsman running as a third party candidate could help defeat Obama BUT IMO it is more likely that he will split the Republican vote among those who are looking for the perfect soft "moderate" candidate.

Anyone who would normally vote for the Republican nominee in a two party race, who would switch and vote for a third party candidate in November, is an idiot.

The demoncats are NEVER going to allow a third party liberal candidate to exist.  They know that the election will be close and that ANYONE who might peel off Obama votes would be a very DANGEROUS threat to Obama's re-election.

WTF?   Why can't conservatives and moderate Republicans get this through their thick skulls?

When is the last time a third party candidate was elected?  EVERY third party candidate who gets votes, peels off votes from one or the other of the two major parties.  It is not even a high school level math problem.

Everyone who pouts and stays home because they do not like whomever the Republicans nominate, and would have voted if their favorite was the nominee is a child and an honorary democrat guaranteeing an Obama victory and appointments of up to 3 supreme court justices who will be in robes for 30 years.

The second amendment will be toast.  But, that won't matter so much because the entire constitution will be toast.  The country will be finished before Obozo's second term has either ended or he declares himself a permanent figure as president (a dictator a la Hugo Chavez).

Huntsman is a sad joke.

I think Sandra Balin from Flairbanks Alaska and hubby Tod would make a great president. Tod has a dog team with Siberian Muskies. I always want to go see Sandra Balin speeches in case she might wink at me from the podium. I know a lotta gals like that too, everybody knows that. I think her runnin mate should be Paris Hilton because she is sooooooo smart. Not only that she don't do Porn anymore. Lindsy Lohan would be good too. Sandra is a wizz at foreign policy too cause she seen all them Russian airplanes flyin by. Anyway Katie Couric thinks she's a swell gal. She'd make a good neighbor too. I'm only sayin that in case you wanted to borrow a cupa sugar, tha'd be my only reason of course.

Well I'm glad I could share with y'all an if ya run into good ol Sandra Balin tell her I says hi.

Macho Man

It looks like the Devil is in control of America..............in more ways than one.  For instance.............who can we trust?   Is George Soros so rich that he "can buy anyone?"   The liberal left was totally scared that Herman Cain would be the Republican Candidate .....so they proceeded to "destroy him" with bimbos .......I am sure they could come up with multiple more women who can be bought!!!!  Then they went after the only other person they knew could show that Barry Sotero was a fake.........and that was Newt Gingrich.  So they went "full force" and got him out of the lead.   American people are just as naive as Germans during Hitler's rise to fame.   Our only hope is that God will intervene and stop this Soros-takeover of our Republic.  Everyone in America should get down on their knees and pray for God to show us the way to stop the evils of this regime.....think Eric Holder, Geitner, Napolitano.....and those in the Republican party who are working behind the scenes to help them...............McCain, Graham, ........all traitors who chose evil over good!

now you're encouraging a plurality mr. judson? where are you leading your sheep?

Keith,

Good question.

NO THIRD PARTY~!!!

Until after the election. After the election I'm "all in" with trying to build a viable Conservative, not on the "take",  party of Patriots.

Regards,

T

and i agree with your point mr. ingram, we shouldn't be scrambling to resurrect george washington

in time for the 2012 election. shortly into mr. obama's term we were focused on 'anybody but...'

since then we've frittered away most of our 'anybodies' and now some of us are considering a more

radical path to salvation. desperation and un-conventional tactics won't win our country back...k

With the selfishness and self centered mind set of many of these politicians they are not concerned about the impact their actions have on a party body. It all is about them and they.

I hope for the sake of us all that one of these morons don't attempt to make a third party run. After the November election would be the time to start building a third party and by the time the mid term comes around it would be ready for a test drive and all of the kinks mostly ironed out. With some tune up and some adjustments the party would be ready for a formidable attempt at the office of President.
