Jon Huntsman is thinking running again.
Run Jon Run.
You remember him. He is the liberal Republican who ran earlier this year, got three votes in the primary before withdrawing and throwing his support to the other liberal in the Republican Primary, Mitt Romney.
From the Hill:
Jon Huntsman called for the rise of a third party on Thursday as he argued the remaining GOP presidential candidates lack big ideas.
The comments from the former Utah governor, who dropped out of the race in January after a disappointing showing in New Hampshire’s primary, were striking given his support for Mitt Romney, one of the four remaining GOP candidates for president.
"Gone are the days when the Republican Party used to put forward big, bold, visionary stuff," Huntsman said during an appearance on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe.”
"I see zero evidence of people getting out there and addressing the economic deficit — which is a national-security problem, for heaven's sake," he said. “I think we're going to have problems politically until we get some sort of third-party movement or some alternative voice out there that can put forward new ideas."
Huntsman, who also bemoaned Wednesday's GOP debate as "wasting time," quickly added that he had no interest in running as a third-party candidate.
"That ain't gonna be me, by the way; I know the next question. I'm not interested in that," he said.
Huntsman and Romney both hail from Utah and are longtime rivals with a cool relationship. During his campaign, Huntsman frequently criticized and even mocked Romney.
Still, the comments on Wednesday, coming about a month after Huntsman decided to endorse Romney, were striking.
No one ever accused Jon Huntsman of being the sharpest knife in the drawer but go for it Jon.
This is one of the best things that could happen to the conservative movement, assuming of course we manage to get a conservative nominated to be the Republican candidate.
It would be great to see a third party that would pull votes away from the Party of Treason. We should encourage this early and often.
Does anyone remember 92 and 96, when Perot pulled away votes from George H.W. Bush and Bob Dole respectively? Unfortunately there were no conservatives in the race then but seeing this replayed, except the votes being pulled away from the left is simply rich!
A conservative running against not only Barack Obama but another left of center candidate who will pull some of the vote away is a guarantee of victory in November.
Run Jon Run!
Permalink Reply by Mary Bigler on March 2, 2012 at 6:39pm You have to be kidding................I like Allen West.............but Sarah Palin is questionable. Why did she go to the rescue of McCain when he was way behind JD Hayworth (who was running for AZ Senator on the promise that he would make sure the AZ borders would be closed). McCain never spoke up to help his Governor Jan Brewer when she was treated with disdain by Obama (Barry Sotero) and turned her into the UN for censure ...when she asked the current President (not in my book.....he is totally illegal..........the Czars and Soros are running our country.......remember he was only a Community Organizer). McCain was no where in sight.......yet he turned up in Libya when Soros decided to take over that country........and he turned up praising Romney above all of the other Republican Candidates recently. Doesn't he remember his oath of office? Why is it that FOX NEWS doesn't mention any of the above "McCain happenings?"
Permalink Reply by Carolyn Hamilton on February 23, 2012 at 6:21pm I just don't understand how you figure this Judson..Listening to BO today and his saying he has
five more years almost killed me. He gave his speech to a group of College students in Florida
and they just hooped it up...I don't think there is anything we can do unless the Christian Right
comes together on one individual, for a win. (can we do this?) I think its too late in the game for
a new candidate..
A third party will just give it to BO...There are way to many idiots out there.
Permalink Reply by Michael C. Lagree on February 24, 2012 at 3:10am It is rather obvious that there are way to many idiots out there, that's how we got here in the first place.

Permalink Reply by Katie Kalpin on February 23, 2012 at 6:28pm I want a third party...called Tea Party. If we are going to get our Republican stance back...WE Have to take it!!! Sooo Isay that Palin or West or Heck even Newt...take to a third party! Other than that...forget it! :)
Permalink Reply by Charles F Nichols on February 23, 2012 at 7:46pm Third party spells death for us all. No matter who it is. Check history. Check the odds makers. For a third party to win would take Gods divine providence. Then there is the aspect of time. The time to form a third party is immediately after an election. To provide enough time to develop the structure .There is the small matter of funding. Start at a late date and the outcome is obvious. Any third party only serves to split the number of votes. The best one could hope for is that both sides lose exactly the same number of votes cancelling out each other but now your really dealing with chance and not very likely. No! No third party. But I fear we cannot stop it. It will work in favor of obama so if its not jon it will be the donald. The obama can afford it.
