Jon Huntsman is thinking running again.
Run Jon Run.
You remember him. He is the liberal Republican who ran earlier this year, got three votes in the primary before withdrawing and throwing his support to the other liberal in the Republican Primary, Mitt Romney.
From the Hill:
Jon Huntsman called for the rise of a third party on Thursday as he argued the remaining GOP presidential candidates lack big ideas.
The comments from the former Utah governor, who dropped out of the race in January after a disappointing showing in New Hampshire’s primary, were striking given his support for Mitt Romney, one of the four remaining GOP candidates for president.
"Gone are the days when the Republican Party used to put forward big, bold, visionary stuff," Huntsman said during an appearance on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe.”
"I see zero evidence of people getting out there and addressing the economic deficit — which is a national-security problem, for heaven's sake," he said. “I think we're going to have problems politically until we get some sort of third-party movement or some alternative voice out there that can put forward new ideas."
Huntsman, who also bemoaned Wednesday's GOP debate as "wasting time," quickly added that he had no interest in running as a third-party candidate.
"That ain't gonna be me, by the way; I know the next question. I'm not interested in that," he said.
Huntsman and Romney both hail from Utah and are longtime rivals with a cool relationship. During his campaign, Huntsman frequently criticized and even mocked Romney.
Still, the comments on Wednesday, coming about a month after Huntsman decided to endorse Romney, were striking.
No one ever accused Jon Huntsman of being the sharpest knife in the drawer but go for it Jon.
This is one of the best things that could happen to the conservative movement, assuming of course we manage to get a conservative nominated to be the Republican candidate.
It would be great to see a third party that would pull votes away from the Party of Treason. We should encourage this early and often.
Does anyone remember 92 and 96, when Perot pulled away votes from George H.W. Bush and Bob Dole respectively? Unfortunately there were no conservatives in the race then but seeing this replayed, except the votes being pulled away from the left is simply rich!
A conservative running against not only Barack Obama but another left of center candidate who will pull some of the vote away is a guarantee of victory in November.
Run Jon Run!

Permalink Reply by MUG on February 23, 2012 at 8:13pm Me too, I love Sarah. She's a true conservative, tough and a leader. I wish one of the current candidates was a true Conservative and more importantly a leader.
Permalink Reply by Mary Bigler on March 2, 2012 at 6:33pm You have to be kidding..........when JD Hayworth was running against McCain for his Senate seat in 2010....who showed up to help McCain.....who was way behind Hayworth who ran on the premise "that he would make sure Arizona's borders would be secured." Sarah came in ...saying she represented the TEA parties in America and helped the Senior Senator win his seat. This Senator who would NOT HELP HIS GOVERNOR WHEN SHE WENT TO BARRY SORTERO (in the Whtie House) asking for his help to close the AZ borders from all the illegals entering daily. Barry turned her into the UN for censure......and not one word from McCain. Whose side is he on any way?

RUN SARAH RUN &RUN & RUN& RUN PLEASE AMERICA NEEDS YOU.
Permalink Reply by Gary L Hastriter on February 23, 2012 at 6:15pm Yeah, I remember. It gave the vote to the Democrat as I recall. Now what good did that do? Oh yes, one good was that Newt was Speaker and cleaned up things for the Democrats.
Already this year, The Donald Trump says he'll run if Romney isn't the nominee. Now we get another one in Huntsman or whoever. Yes Sarah Palin would be good.
May if we get a Republican, a Libertarian, an Independent and another, maybe Obama will be defeated. Three in the race will be a victory for Obama.
Allen West & Sarah Palin. We need to draft West which will eliminate the race issue immediately. He's also a kick-ass kind of guy which is EXACTLY what we need now. Palin would be a MAJOR draw for the ticket and she's really gotten her self ready for it. I'm just not convinced that the candidates we have now actually have the cajones to stand up and get it done. We cannot afford to lose this one....the country will never be the same.

Permalink Reply by American Infidel on February 24, 2012 at 7:16am People have been trying to draft Allen West unsuccessfully for many months now. He is not going to do it. He is currently house-shopping in his new Congressional district in Florida. He is even having to pull his youngest daughter out of her beloved Christian high school in order to move there, but that is how much he wants to stay in Congress representing Florida. You are barking up the wrong tree with him right now. Maybe next time.
