Mitt Romney went to Israel on his obligatory foreign policy tour. He said something in Israel that is dead on. It is about time some American leaders said it.
What did he say and what was he so right about?
Romney said Israel’s culture is something that helped make them successful.
Romney said it and the sound you heard was the sound of the ball being hit out of the park.
Unfortunately the Romney campaign has now walked those comments back some because the Palestinians are outraged.
The Palestinians? Really? Who gives two whoops in hell what they think?
Palestine? That is not a nation. It is a joke.
The so-called Palestinian Authority quickly took offense. They blamed the Israelis for the fact that the average income in the so-called Palestinian areas is half that of Israel.
A good look at the evidence would show the terrorists who run that little strip of nothing they call Palestine what the problem is.
Israel is a democracy. In Israel, they have the rule of law. Israel does not stone women who commit adultery. They do not hang homosexuals. Israel does not persecute minorities. Israel is referred to as a “Jewish” state but it has citizens who are Arabs, Christians and even Muslims. In Israel, so-called Muslim holy sites are protected, not destroyed.
Compare that to the so-called area of Palestine. There is no rule of law nor is there democracy. It is a theocracy. Christians are persecuted there. The religious sites of other faiths are destroyed or damaged.
Instead of trying to build their so-called state, all the Palestinians want to do is destroy Israel.
And who can forget 9/11? On 9/11 as most of the world reacted in horror to the attacks on the twin towers, the Palestinians were in the streets celebrating.
Mitt Romney was right. The culture of Israel helped Israel become an economic powerhouse in the region. Israel creates wealth because its culture encourages that.
The only negative out of all of this is the fact Romney’s spokesman said his remarks were “mischaracterized.”
No they weren’t.
He hit this one spot on. Romney is absolutely right and his campaign needs to step up to the plate, grow a pair and quit acting like they are afraid of their own shadow.
Romney is right. Don’t back off now.

Please read the Tea Party Nation blog linked here: http://www.teapartynation.com/forum/topics/romney-was-right. It is urgent that, as the blog says, the Romney campaign "...grow a pair and quit acting like they're afraid of their own shadow." This in regard to backtracking on Mitt's comments about Israel being the financial powerhouse in the area. You must choose your friends and the "Palestinians" will never be among that group unless you start acting like Obama.
Permalink Reply by Stephen Luftschein on July 30, 2012 at 12:31pm 2 points. Israel is not a regional economic powerhouse, it is an international one. Israel has the second most companies listed on the Nasdaq, after the US. More patents per capita than ANY nation in world, more Phd's, etc, etc. Your pc, tablet, cellphone, IM, etc ALL run on Israeli technology. I could go on and on.
What will never be discussed in the US press, but which was a HUUUUUGE deal to Israelis, is that Sunday was a very solemn Jewish holiday, Tisha B'Av, the day of commemorating the destruction of the Temple. It is a fast day.
Ann Romney, fasted. 'nuff said.
