As Rick Santorum tries to coalesce his position as the Anti-Romney candidate, he manages to attempt political suicide.

Rick Santorum said that “America is suffering from a pandemic of harm from pornography,” and accused the Obama administration’s Justice Department of favoring “pornographers over children,” in a statement on his campaign website. The former Pennsylvania senator argues that "current federal 'obscenity' laws prohibit distribution of hardcore [obscene] pornography on the Internet, on cable/satellite TV, on hotel/motel TV, in retail shops and through the mail or by common carrier."
“The Obama administration has turned a blind eye to those who wish to preserve our culture from the scourge of pornography and has refused to enforce obscenity laws,” the statement read in part. “While the Obama Department of Justice seems to favor pornographers over children and families, that will change under a Santorum administration.”
What?
Where does this fit on anyone’s agenda? IS this on anyone’s radar? Where the hell has Santorum been for the last three years?
Let me give a disclaimer here. I spent ten years of my career as a prosecutor. I have handled obscenity cases as a prosecutor and seen some pretty disgusting things. I have no sympathy for pornographers.
However, Santorum is a first class idiot for bringing this up.
This is not a winning issue for Republicans. This is not an issue we even need to be dealing with.
People in America are worried about the price of gas, keeping food on their table and a roof over their heads. People in America are worried about their jobs surviving. People in America are worried about their country surviving.
Who in the hell in Santorum’s campaign thinks bringing this up is a good idea?
It isn’t.
Let’s ignore the issues such as Santorum being a big government Republican for a moment. The fact that he would bring up such a losing issue in the middle of the campaign says a lot about him.
Gingrich has his faults, but none this dumb. Romney, for all of his faults such as being a liberal, is not that dumb.
Does Santorum really want to simply lose?
While it is not fair, the simple fact is if Santorum runs on social issues he will be slaughtered. He of all people should know what liberals do to conservatives on social issues.
If he continues to make such stupid remarks, the election is not going to be about saving America. The election is not going to be about the economy. The election is going to be about the perception that Santorum is the next Torquemada, and the Santorum administration will be the grand inquisition.
We don’t need to go from a big government Democrat imposing a socialist agenda to a big government Republican imposing a social engineering agenda. We need less government interference in our lives, not more.
Santorum should take a lesson from Bill Clinton.

Why do even conservative commentators this avoid one of the primary and "WINNABLE" issues of the day? The Obama sex scandal. Obama’s addiction with sex is a huge, huge issue. I call Obama the “Sodomy Pimp” - because that is exactly what he is. He is the biggest promoter in this nation of sodomy, of pornography, and of the entire sex-trade industry. Here we have Barack Obama promoting and pushing sodomy and pedophilia in every school in this country - even early grade school with the Kevin Jennings/GLSEN doctrine . He's promoting sodomy in the military, even telling the military chaplains to get out if they don't agree with him. He’s the biggest promoter of Planned Parenthood, which does everything they can to cover up underage sex trafficking, and in fact the entire sex trade industry.
When he got into office what did he do - he appointed as the Deputy Attorney General of the United States, David Ogden. Who Is David Ogden? He was the number one defense attorney for the hard-core pornography industry. For years he has defended Playboy, Penthouse, and PHE, Inc., the nation's largest distributor of hard-core porn videos and other sex-related products (including child pornography), as well as homosexual defense. What’s the result - the Justice Department is being controlled by the pornography industry.
So what we see here, is that Obama is indeed the biggest promoter in the country of sodomy, of pornography, of abortion, and of the entire sex trade industry. Pornography, obviously, underpins the sex trade industry in every area, is very much tied into to the homosexual agenda, and of course the abortion mills cover up the underage sex trafficking that goes on in this country.
We had Republicans spinning their wheels defending a phony charge on Cain, and even turning on him, when they just should've just turned it on the mainstream media themselves and say exactly who Barack Obama is.
The Penn State scandal is just the small, small tip of a huge "liberal/progressive" iceberg.
Now consider a report from the Journal of Sex Research which noted that homosexual pedophiles commit about one-third of the total number of child sex offenses, even though they are outnumbered by heterosexuals over 20 to one. Less than four percent of the population commits one-third of the offenses against children!
In The Gay Report, homosexual researchers report data showing that better than 7 out of 10 homosexuals surveyed had at some time had sex with boys 16 to 19, and OUT Magazine's survey of it's "readers" had 73% of homosexuals preferring sex with minors over other men....the average preferred age - 11 years old!!
Or consider a study in Archives of Sexual Behavior, which found that of 229 convicted child molesters surveyed, “85 percent of offenders against males described themselves as homosexual or bisexual.”
This means that 2.5% of the people (gays) are committing 85% of the child molestations. That means homosexuals are 2125 times more likely to be a child molester than a heterosexual.
This IS the Obama-Jennings agenda.
The Economy IS an incredibly important issue, but it's the DEMS total lack of morality that is the foundation of socialism and their economic policies.
Evolutionary Socialism is the religion that they are very deeply committed to - Pornography is their "Icons", and Abortion is their Sacrament.
Don't try to sweep it under the rug.
This is why Santorum is winning.

He's the guy who supported the Bill in Illinois to be certain that BABIES (human life) who survived "botched" abortions would be unattended to be sure they DIED. obots will say this isn't true, but I listened to the nurse who spearheaded this fight. Partial birth abortion? He's for it! Anyone care to debate me on that topic? Can we talk about how the Wright/owebama church was a gay hook up and fomented racism? So very sad!
Rick has been on the wrong side of the fence on so many big issues that he'll more than have his handsful if he gets the "nod." When Rick suggested that he was trying to be a team player on these issues shows a weakness that I can't tolerate. Rick is beginning to look like the extreme right, not a Conservative.

The AG is operating at the pleasure of Obama. Santorum has his priority carts all out of order. You have to get elected president BEFORE you get to pick an AG that operates at your pleasure and enforces laws that YOU deem to be of highest priority. Virtually no one will complain if a Santorum AG takes aim at pornographers. But, you have to become president first.
We've experienced nearly four years of having an incompetent in the oval office. Obama's values and priorities are not aligned with the vast majority of the American electorate. Before he was elected, Obama managed to convince many trusting souls that he was with them and promised hope and change without specifics. In this respect you must give him credit.
Obama managed to wear the sheep's clothing even though the preponderance of evidence indicated he was a south side Chicago thuggish politician with a radical set of relationships and a radical back ground unmatched by anyone ever to run for the presidency as the nominee of a major political party.
While Santorum, and Romney are busy carping over silly non-issues and subjects that are only appropriate AFTER becoming president, the Iranian's are preparing for war. “In every field in which the Islamic Republic of Iran tries to advance America is there to create obstacles for us,” Brig. Gen. Mohammed Reza Naqdi, head of the Basij volunteer militia said in a video message.

WTF are these candidates thinking? Are there no statesmen left in this country. Are they all this dumb? Stupid and dumb are closely related in modern English. Both words characterize someone who is not ignorant, yet seems to ignore or confuse the salient points while dwelling on the inane and mostly irrelevant. Native intelligence has nothing to do with the stupidity displayed. All of these candidates have an above average IQ. Give me wisdom over IQ every day.

He led the charge against Iran, and identified Iran’s nuclear program nine years ago. He authored bills to put in sanctions to stop it. So if you are worried about Iran, why isn't Rick your man?

Right now the candidates need to discuss the ECONOMY, gas prices and unemployment. Santorum needs to distance himself as soon as possible from all social issues. While I see porno being destructive to our young people that is a discussion for a different day.

That's like the Paulbots talking about the RP "surge" when he takes 5% of the vote but he has this "secret agenda" whereby the delegates in that same state where he took 5% are magically going to line up for him in direct opposition to their state's vote. Right. The Newt surge in Missouri, Minnesota, Colorado, Kansas, Alabama and Mississippi! Look out Rick! The Newt tsunami will roll you over sometime in August (if we add 100 more states).
