Andrew Breitbart has died.  He was 43 years old.

The cause of death has not been released and honestly it is none of our business.  The fact he is gone is bad enough.

Andrew Breitbart was an unbelievable personality.  He has been described as an author, publisher, and entrepreneur.

He could also be described as fearless and in some ways, the wild man of the conservative movement.

He was famous for being very willing to mix it up with liberals.  In 2010, at the massive Tea Party Express rally in Searchlight Nevada, when union thugs threw eggs at the Tea Party Express bus and other cars, Breitbart went into the union crowd, refusing to back down and daring them to do something to him.   Less than a month ago, he was at CPAC and when the Occupy protestors decided to act like the fools they are, Breitbart was the guy who went outside and confronted them.

I met him two years ago, when we did the National Tea Party convention.  Breitbart was someone who early on recognized the value of the event, even more than we did.  He reached out and helped in a number of ways.  He never asked for anything in return.

There was a point where the convention almost failed.  Some leftist groups were working hard to make the convention fail, thinking it would embarrass the movement.

At one of the most crucial moments, we reached out to him and he went above and beyond the call of duty to do something that saved the convention.  Perhaps one day the entire story will be told but the bottom line is he did not have to but he did.

Not everyone agreed with him on a lot of issues.  I certainly did not.

But today is not a day to talk about past differences and past fights.

Breitbart relished fighting those who would destroy this great country.

He loved this country, he loved what he was doing and he was an amazing patriot.

Rest in Peace.

Well, put, Judson. We all have lost a patriot and a friend.

Yes we have and our flags should be at half mast for this dedicated American.  I hate to compare, but while hours and hours of programming is dedicated to a drug addicted celebrity and Christie flies the flag at half mast for her; does anyone wonder why we won't see this kind of respect and remembrance on our networks or from our alleged conservative and 'patriotic' leadership and politicians for this dedicated man who did not pursue celebrity or millions for his work?

Absolutely righteous Debbie.   Thanks for being so accurate in your post!  Unfortunately, that's the trouble with America today.  Not enough of us "doing the right thing" and too many of us idolizing mortals who contribute nothing to society except 3rd rate movies, raking in the dough for them, and thinking they are gods upon the earth that we are fortunate enough to bow before.  Makes me sick that this wonderful patriot was taken away so young.  What he could have done for the conservative movement was just beginning.

RIP Andrew.  We were grateful to have you for as long as we did.

I, humbly, pray for God to please protect and bless his family. He will be truly missed as a beloved patriot, an outspoken conservative hero, and a 'Re-Founder' of this great nation. RIP Andrew Breitbart. Amen.

One of the few outspoken champions for America;  May he rest in peace.

I am in tears over this news. He was such an amazing person. The Conservative. Cause would not be as strong as it is today if not for his bold intelligence. May he truly rest in peace.

My wife and I had the pleasure of speaking with Andrew for about 1/2 hour, during a private photo session at the  First National Tea Party Convention, 2 years ago.
I must admit that I expected him to be boisterous, loud-mouthed egotist: instead I was gratified to find a generous, introspective and engaging person, anything but self centered.
He will be sorely missed by all but extreme liberals! And I hope that others are willing to step forward, selflessly presenting the truth similarly.
R.I.P., Andrew. We must carry on, knowing that we've lost a selfless leader.

I agree Diana. I don't think anyone can step in and do what he has done for America and the constitutional conservative movement.

Was he sick?  Was he silenced?  Sad. Sad. Sad. RIP. May someone step up and take your place.

My prayers to all his family and friends.  He will be missed by this patriot!

Noah Greenburg (I think that's his name) said one of Andrew's expressions was

If you're getting flak, you must be over the target.

Is ACORN payback a natural cause?

You had to love the fight and moxie he had within. Its like losing a part of yourself. We lost a true comrade.
