In Honor of Those Who Made the Ultimate Sacrifice…
Dear TMLC Friends and Supporters:
From Lexington and Valley Forge, to Normandy, Korea, and now to Iraq and Afghanistan, America’s military forces have bravely fought for Freedom and in defense our Nation. Memorial Day is a time to remember our fighting men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our nation with their very lives.
Let us not only take the time to remember the heroic sacrifices of our military throughout our nation’s history, but also to remember the heroic sacrifices our combat men and women are making in Iraq and Afghanistan today.
Let us take this time pray for our troops who have died in battle, and for their loved ones who still mourn their great loss.
Let us also pray for our troops who are in harms way today.
I close this Memorial Day message with a poem by Marine chaplain Father Dennis Edward O’Brien, which eloquently speaks to both the courage and the irony in the role that our soldiers play in protecting our great nation:
It is the Soldier
It is the Soldier, not the reporter
Who has given us freedom of the press.
It is the Soldier, not the poet,
Who has given us freedom of speech.

It is the Soldier, not the campus organizer,
Who has given us the freedom to demonstrate.
It is the Soldier, not the lawyer,
Who has given us the right to a fair trial.
It is the Soldier, who salutes the flag,
Who serves beneath the flag,
And whose coffin is draped by the flag,
Who allows the protestor to burn the flag.
May God continue to bless America.

Sincerely yours,

Richard Thompson

This Memorial Day as in Memorial Days past, I will take the time to give tribute to our heroes. We can never do enough for them.
I honor this day that is for all those heroes that died for all of us whether they were in the military or civilians i.e. hose firefighters, police, CIA, FBI, and those medical people who attempted rescues or did brave acts that directly helped our nation. I want to thank the widows, widowers, and orphans of our fallen dead, and the disabled veterans who in their service for their country.... suffered great loss. Our fallen heroes are partly the reason I'm fighting in this tea party movement--and it is a fight. It's a fight to the finish. Being a , shall we say, "older" female, I could never be on the front lines, but I feel like I'm on the front lines of this fight. I'm using my computer and my mouth (which I've always been good at using) to fight this all important battle because our fallen heroes did not die for a socialist nation. They didn't die for big government. They didn't die for government controlled business or health care. They died for freedom.

We can't lose this battle for if we do, all those men and women will have died for nothing. We absolutely cannot let that happen
God Bless each and every service person. Past and Present deserve America's undying devotion to them for all they have done to keep this country safe and our freedoms intact.

THANK YOU AND PLEASE COME HOME SAFELY FROM WHEREVER YOU ARE!!!
May God bless our men and women in the military and their families and may He bring comfort to those whose loved ones gave the ultimate sacrifice for this great nation. It is a debt that can never be repaid, but today a grateful nation remembers.
Memorial Day Concert, Trace Adkins, 'Til the Last Shot's Fired. Beautiful.
