What is it with Republicans?  Are we not capable of thinking things out?  Are we like Charlie Brown?  Every time Lucy puts the football down, we run towards it to kick it only to have her pull it away.   Are we really that dumb?

When are we going to quit playing the left’s game?

Back in January, when Mitch Daniels gave the response to the State of the Union speech, he had to lament about the need to “restore the safety net.”

The so-called safety net is the welfare state.   The welfare state has been an abject failure, except for liberals who want to create dependent classes.  They create those permanently in poverty who need welfare and the create bureaucrats who owe their jobs to the Party of Treason.

The welfare state arose out of Lyndon Johnson’s war on poverty.  If the war on poverty were a real war, we would be breaking out John Boehner’s freshly laundered white flag of surrender.  If it were a real war, we would be asking poverty for the terms of our surrender.

Of course asking liberals to think is asking too much.  For example, what did we do before the “safety net?”  The answer is simple.  Liberals don’t want us to think about hit.  They want us to have some vague idea that America looked like some third world country with children starving in the streets.

What really happened back then is that when the hard times hit, people went to their families, their friends and their churches for help.  Private charities helped people.

The left hates private charity because private charities are not a part of the government, are efficient and do not create a dependent class.

Can you imagine for a moment what would happen if we abolished the so-called safety net?

For one thing, endless welfare and the welfare class would be abolished.   As a practical matter, the “safety net” would be administered by private charities.

What would that mean? For one thing it would mean money spent for the “safety Net” would be spent in a much more efficient manner.  Welfare fraud would end.   People would not be starving in the streets.  In fact, those people who are deadbeats would not be able to mooch off of the American taxpayer.

We could dismantle huge sectors of the federal government because they would not be needed.

The welfare state has done nothing but perpetuate poverty.  It is not a solution.  It is the problem.

Why we Conservatives simply go along with liberals calling it a “safety net” is simply beyond belief.  It is not a “safety net.”  It is a welfare trap.  It sucks people into the welfare system and does everything possible to keep them there.

Why we conservatives show this concept any respect is simply stunning.  We need to call out this system for what it is.  It is not a safety net.  It is a trap that destroys people’s lives.

As pointed out earlier; it will be next to impossible to disassemble the giant government welfare beast as by design, there are no jobs to be had. Barack Hussian Obama's real goal is to destroy our birth rights and bring all of us down into the sewer with the worthless welfare trash.   If you kill the economy there is no way that we can put the worthless welfare trash back to work hence it gives Marxism and Socialism a boost. The only way to change this is for the good people of America to finally get fed up, band together and take back this country back from the Republican and Democratic socialists. There is no motivation to do this right now because enough people are still fat, dumb and happy. Only when the system plan is successful in driving us all to the bottom (where we will all be living in cages), will the American people wake up. Until this happens we may not succeed. I hope that I am wrong..

We also have a political system that is dictated by votes in the large cities where the government plantations exist. Look at the last presidential voting map and the only place that Obama wins is in the big cities. All of the rural counties where honest, hard working, law abiding, self sufficient, God fearing patriotic Americans live are conservative areas. Obama's voting base is largely the dependent welfare class that permeates the core of the inner city plantations. When the federal money finally runs out, these people won't have it and they will be looking to take it,and you guessed it, from us. This might explain the statistic that in 2012 , over 11 million guns were sold in the USA.

The entire purpose of government entitlements is to create government dependents that can be easily ruled, its been the goal of leftist ideologues from the start. The leftists are masters at using emotion for the creation of policy that causes people to literally enslave themselves. We've arrived at this point as a result of that formula, stupidly the "Rs" continue to play the same ignorant game and wonder why we stand at the edge of the abyss that is a totalitarian state.

Sadly, the lefts idiot voters don't realize that they are nothing more than disposable assets. They will be used to create the leftist state and then discarded. The result, we'll share our chains with our traitorous brethren.

True conservatives have never called welfare a "safety net". True conservatives have always called it what it is: the welfare trap. It is only wimpy, fake "conservatives" like Mitch Daniels who use the liberal playbook and vocabulary.

One wonders if carp are thinking "safety net" as they are being hauled into the commercial fishing boat.

Great analogy Carol!  Really puts things into perspective!

FIRST OF ALL I DO NOT CONSIDER MYSELF A REPUBLICAN THEY ARE JUST CLOSER TO WHAT NEEDS TO BE

DONE CONSIDERING THE ALTERNATIVE,WE NEED TO SPEND MORE TIME REPLACING THE LIBERAL REPUBLICANS ALONG THE WAY AND STOP ALLOWING THEM TO HEARD US INTO ROOMS AND TAKING

CHARGE NOT ALLOWING TEA PARTY  MEMBERS TO NOT GET TOGEATHER AND COMMUNICATE BETWEEN OURSELVES.

EVERYBODY NEEDS TO WORK FOR A LIVING AND IF WE ARE GIVING OUT WELFARE THEN THOSE PEOPLE SHOULD WORK FOR THEIR WELFARE & BENEFITS ETC IF THEY ARE WELL ENOUGH TO DO SO !

How many times must this be elucidated? A welfare state, the most depressive and dishonest of human creations, has never brought about an improvement in the well-being of the species. When will we, as a culture, come to realize that to shame another into an understanding of their personal responsibilities is a worthwhile endeavor? In this age of peering and adolescent behavior, it should be easier to present an argument to this effect. Shame on the politicians, shame on any leader of note, shame on anyone who advocates a welfare state that chooses to live off the largesse of others. Shame on them all!

Don

Agreeing with your post, however this is where we fall into a trap "When will we, as a culture, come to realize that to shame another into an understanding of their personal responsibilities is a worthwhile endeavor? " There is no shame in a godless (socialist)world.

That's a good point, Dean.  Those on the liberal side always try to shame you for objecting to the outright theft and waste of your hard-earned money, but they never mention any shame of those accepting that forced extortion.  They will argue that those "in need" "deserve" their "fair share" of your money to keep their "family" from "starving."  It would be almost laughable to see them try to specify just what the objective criteria are for each of these terms, and how that translates into some monetary amount.

JC

To be sure, fairness is a concept that comes right out of the socialist playbook. Fairness may be a usefull goal in raising the little ones ( kinda like santa-claus) but it should be discarded as a myth before one reaches voting age.We are endowed by our creator with the processes of nature, nowhere therein does fairness exist.

We all need to hold the Republican's feet to the fire when they get elected and don't do what we elected them to do.  They somehow seem to fall into the establishment Republican lair as soon as they are elected.  We have got to stop letting them do that.  Whenever I see how someone that I supported is doing what they were elected to do I email them and thank them.  It just seems like once some of them are elected they forget why they were elected.  Romney is now saying all the right things but how many of them is he really going to stick too if he gets elected.

Yes, Republicans are really that stupid, Look at Boehner and McConnell, In Colorado look to Ryan Call and Amy Stepehens
