Much as children would play the game, pin the tail on the donkey, the new game in Washington is to pin the blame on the Republicans, and by extension, the Tea Party.   The players are the Democrats and their lapdog allies in the media.

Perhaps it is time we crash the party and start playing pin the blame on the party it belongs on.

How?

Let’s start by indentifying the problems and getting the truth out.   This is from the AP (Via the Boston Globe)http://www.boston.com/news/nation/articles/2011/07/05/minnesota_leg...

EAGAN, Minn. - As Senator Ted Daley, a Republican, hustled up Yankee Doodle Road in the lineup for Eagan’s Fourth of July parade, some of his constituents wondered loudly why he wasn’t at the state Capitol 10 miles to the north trying to end the state government shutdown that was in its fourth day.

“Go get your job done!’’ shouted Bill Egan, a 52-year-old salesman who said he is disgusted by the standoff between Governor Mark Dayton, a Democrat, and the Republicans who control the Legislature.

They have been at odds over the state budget since they were sworn in early this year.

Republicans want to limit state spending to $34 billion, the amount the state is expected to bring in over the next two years, while Dayton wants to raise income taxes on the state’s top earners to provide $1.8 billion more to keep up with growing demand for state services and prevent cuts to social programs and public colleges.

With neither side willing to budge, talks broke down Thursday night hours before the government shutdown. Dayton urged lawmakers to spend the holiday weekend in their districts, listening to the people they represent.

“I just want to see compromise,’’ said Egan, a Democratic-leaning independent who voted for Daley last year “because he goes to my church.’’ Watching the state’s second government shutdown in six years, Egan said he’s tired of politicians failing to compromise.

All of the elements of the story are there.  The Republicans are to blame for the shutdown.  Instead of working to solve the shut down, they went off for the holidays while the ‘heroic’ liberal governor urged them to work through the holidays (Does anyone remember the Harvard University study that says liberals don’t go to Fourth of July parades?).

And of course, there is the obligatory; we just want “compromise.”

Buried in the story is a portion of the truth.  The fight is over the budget.  The GOP wants fiscal responsibility and the Governor from the Party of Treason wants to wreck the Minnesota economy with more tax and spend policies.

What the AP and most of the drive by media is not saying is that the GOP led legislature had the budget bills wrapped up.  Dayton did not voice complaints then.  Instead he waited until the last minute and vetoed the spending bills.  The Minnesota state legislature increased spending by 6% over the previous year.  This was all based on anticipated growth in revenue.   This was not good enough for Dayton who wanted a 15% increase.

The Party of Treason, or in Minnesota it is known as the Democratic Farmer Labor Party, has done this before.  In 2005, the roles were reversed.  The Republicans, in the form of Tim Pawlenty, held the governor’s mansion and they held the legislature.   By the end of the legislative session in May of that year, no budget had been passed by the legislature, so Pawlenty called a special session to get the budget passed.  According to sources, the Republicans and the Party of Treason were very close to an agreement when the then Senate Majority Leader, Dean Johnson abruptly walked out of the talks and forced a shutdown.    Even though the Party of Treason walked out of the negotiations, the left and their willing accomplices in the drive by media blamed it on Pawlenty, dubbing him “Governor shutdown.”

Eventually Pawlenty caved and signed on to some tax increases.  The political planning was evident as the Party of Treason wanted to use this to try and get Pawlenty, an otherwise popular governor, defeated the next year in his bid for reelection.  Pawlenty narrowly won reelection.

This year, the GOP led legislature offered compromise with the Governor.  They even offered what in Minnesota is a “lights on” bill to keep the government running so that negotiations could continue and the government would not shut down.

That was not good enough for far left Governor Mark Dayton, who shut the government down.

The media is now doing exactly what the Party of Treason wants it to do.  Blame the Republicans, and by extension the Tea Party, even though it is the liberal Governor who is responsible for the shut down.  The strategy is simple.  By blaming the Republicans, hopefully the people will be so disgusted by them, next year when the legislature is up for election, the voters will turn the legislature from Republican control to the Democrat Farmer Labor Party.

We have to fight back.

How?

We need to bypass the mainstream media and get our message out.  This shut down is the result of a far left governor trying to play politics so that his party can pick up votes in the next election and control the state legislature.   We need to get the message out that the only reason Minnesota’s state government is shut down is because of the Party of Treason, not because of the GOP.

How?

We use social media.  We use Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and other media that we have available.  If we do nothing, we lose and a victory in Minnesota will encourage them to try similar tactics in other states.

Get your Tea Party groups on board.  All of us need to get this message out.   The Minnesota shutdown is not because the GOP is beholden to the Tea Party and we are being unreasonable nor is the GOP being unreasonable.

This is a calculated political strategy by the left.

Either we conservatives win this battle or liberals do.  We cannot afford to lose any battles.  Get involved and help us win this battle!

EVERY time this 'Tax the rich' policy is implemented, there is the same result; tax revenues DECREASE, jobs DECREASE, and the economy suffers.  A little thought shows the reason why it happens so reliably.  The rich go elsewhere.  With them goes their income, their investments, the jobs they create, the products they buy, and the services they pay for.  The Democrats call this 'bad luck'.

Section 7. All Bills for raising Revenue shall originate in the House of Representatives; but the Senate may propose or concur with Amendments as on other Bills.

Increases in taxes are first proposed by the House of Representatives...NOT the Senate.  The ONLY way that taxes may be increased is first by a majority vote in the House.  The Senate must then agree to the bill before taxes may be raised. Then the President must agree to the bill...otherwise the bill goes back to the congress.

All the crap we are seeing on TV today with all the political posturing, instead of actually working on the problems at hand prove that these fools, these incompetents, these irresponsible, inept clowns need to be replaced. They have taken malfeasance to a high art form.  They have betrayed their constituents, they have refused to create a national budget for two terms now.  They have loaded our nation down with debt that is unparalleled in our history...and for what.  What has America gained by their actions?   More accurately, what have we lost?  Our national freedom from debt...over $14 trillion dollars in debt in just the last four years.

We would have been better off if they all had learned from this old story...if they had learned four years ago.

A crafty old mountain lion used to hang around a ranch looking for stray cattle. One day he saw a bull off by himself and managed to kill it after a mighty battle. The bull was too heavy to drag off, so the mountain lion decided to just eat as much as he could hold. He ate and ate until he just couldn't eat any more. This made him feel really good, so he let out a big roar. That made him feel even better, so he roared again. He kept it up until the rancher came by and shot him.  Moral: When you are full of bull, keep your mouth shut.

I'm getting kind of sick of always blaming the progressives for everything.  Altho they are un-American.....the repugs are the problem, and, they're standing in the way of WE the PEOPLE.  November, 2012 will see the end of the repug party as WE know it.  The repugs will either align themselves with the values of the Tea Party, or, it will be utter failure for that party.  At least, with the progressives, WE know who and what they are already....but, the repugs have left US, and, they refuse to return to THEIR values and convictions.  They are mere RINO's.  It is going to be a pleasure to vote each repug out of office.

There are some progressive repubs. These are the ones that have been reelected for some insane reason. The voters in past could not be bothered by voting for someone who would hold to constitution. It was easier to just vote the same fools back in to office.Being a responsible voter is not a part-time job. If we want the best for america we have to make responsible decisions and forget about party loyalty.

How about not EVER write new ones?  Notice how the driveby

media refer to Michele Bachman's "slender" legislative tally?

As though their salaries are somehow paid on piece work?

Mark the problem as I see it, is that you are still using terminology that is twenty years archaic. Republican and Democrat have no meaning in these days. Elephants or jackasses...all the same... Repugs, Rinos, whatever are just names casts in the wind.  In 2012 they will hopefully all be dead political carcases...flies feeding upon their in-common dead ideology of taking and taking, and taking from Americans of all ages, even those unborn.  The old days of tax and spend were not enough to satiate their hunger...so they adopted to the practice of tax, BORROW and spend even more.

Perhaps today the terms and concepts of Liberal, Progressive, Conservative, and Constitutionalists might replace the now useless terms of Republican and Democrat...and they will serve us all better as we battle with the American ideological wars of the 21st century.  And to be perfectly crystal clear...these wars will either destroy America or make her stronger than she has been for over 60 years.

The question we must answer is..."Which way will We the People take our nation in these most perilous days?"  If we believe that THESE elected and so-called "representatives" will work in our favor we may very well be betting on the wrong (jackass, elephant, donkey, rhino, repugs, yada, yada.)

“To preserve [the] independence [of the people,] we must not let our rulers load us with perpetual debt. We must make our election between economy and liberty, or profusion and servitude. If we run into such debts as that we must be taxed in our meat and in our drink, in our necessaries and our comforts, in our labors and our amusements, for our callings and our creeds, as the people of England are, our people, like them, must come to labor sixteen hours in the twenty-four, give the earnings of fifteen of these to the government for their debts and daily expenses, and the sixteenth being insufficient to afford us bread, we must live, as they now do, on oatmeal and potatoes, have no time to think, no means of calling the mismanagers to account, but be glad to obtain  subsistence by hiring ourselves to rivet their chains on the necks of our fellow-sufferers.”  Thomas Jefferson.

“When you see that trading is done, not by consent, but by compulsion —when you see that in order to produce, you need to obtain permission from men who produce nothing -- when you see that money is flowing to those who deal, not in goods, but in favors -- when you see that men get richer by graft and by pull than by work, and your laws don’t protect you against them, but protect them against you -- when you see corruption being rewarded and honesty becoming a self-sacrifice -- you may know that your society is doomed.”- Ayn Rand

"You are seeing today an all out attempt
to marshal the forces of the opposition,
using not merely the communists, or their
fellow travelers-the deluded liberals, the
eggheads, [but also] some of my good friends.
in both the Democratic and Republican Parties
who can become heroes over night in the eyes
of the left-wing press if they
will just join with the jackal pack"
Joseph McCarthy

The only way we will be successful at removing the current jackasses and elephants in 2012 is to work diligently from now until election day at finding, funding, and supporting better candidates.  Help your grass roots organizations as often as you can and with as much as you can spare...the balance of American survival is in our hands today.

First you need to primary them.  Then you need to support those

who oust them, not wander off to a third party spoiler.  Since any

incumbent of either party has moneyed support for status quo, that

is frequently an uphill battle.  One that we have only just seen a

modicum of success with, but sadly too late for either economic

recovery or the salvation of the Constitution.

In The government shut down in Minnesota the progressive liberal democrats are the problem not the republicans who put forth a budget that has a 6% increase and the largest budget in Minnesota's history yet the democrats want to play polotics and blame the shutdown on the republicans in hope of gaining back control of the legislature in 2012.This is nothing but irresponsible political tactics by the governor that wants higher taxes and bigger government which we all know doesn't work,it just forces jobs out and welfare recipients in.
The GOP will continue to be blamed for everything, until they are willing to fight back. The top GOP are afraid of fighting for the working people. The democrats are using big guns to attack the conservatives and GOP are using pee shooters. The tea party has to put MORE PRESSURE on the leadership of GOP. This maybe our last chance of saving our country. The old GOP are worried more about themself than whats about to happen to USA.

Its "pea shooters," I think.  But pee shooters does conjure up an image.

(Archie Bunker's writers used that joke way back)

I tried another approach since I don't use "social media"...this TPN site is about as social as I get!  I picked a town in Minnesota, got on whitepages.com, picked a nice Nordic sounding last name at random, searched and found a fellow named Larry.  I called but got his machine so I left a message which might have been just as well since he might listen to the full story I left him.  I hope Larry was out fishing and catching nice eating size walleye.  I'll "work" this town later when time allows, but I need to get back to my job now.
