NewsMax published a story today about Perry using the expressions and ideas contained in a video we created for Michele Bachmann's campaign. If "imitation" is the sincerest form of flattery, I guess all we can say is "Thanks Rick!"

Permalink Reply by Darlene Black on December 16, 2011 at 3:35pm Bachman doesn't look like a quarterback to me. I thought she was Margaret Thatcher?? She did get a couple good licks in on Gingrich and Ron Paul last night though. She seems to have decided to leave Perry alone since her attack on him about In State Tuition kind of backfired when we found out that she voted for it for her own state and the Guardisil thing where he killed all those poor girls where it turned out that after signing the order for it he signed the order canceling that order before it ever became law so he was not responsible for killing any girls. Gingrich did have a point about getting her facts straight in some cases. Even Newt says Rick and Anita are true Christians and not one person has ever been able to come up with any infidelity claims against either of them. He's for everything I am and against everything I am, I like what he says and I think he means every word so I'll continue to support him.
Permalink Reply by B Zipper on December 16, 2011 at 4:03pm I agree with what you said. Rick Perry is the true proven experienced candidate with a long record of excellent conservative accomplishments. I am with Rick Perry till the end.
In honesty and too be fair: I think that both Michelle Bachmann and Rick Santorum are also good conservatives an I don't doubt their records. But given the experience, the money, the ability to win, the electability - Rick Perry is the only one of the three I would count on. Perry had some great monents last night just like in the last debate on Saturday. Some Perry highlights from last night:
Perry hammers congress: Send them home, Let them get a job like everyone else
Perry: Obama Has Most Muddled Foreign Policy I Can Remember
Perry Praises 10th Amendment In Defense Of Texas Energy Policy
Perry: Holder Should Resign For Not Knowing About Fast And Furious
Perry: I'm The Tim Tebow Of Presidential Race
Perry's New Ad in Iowa parts for his debate he ddid on Saturday:
Momentum
Bachmann is a great attack horse, it is her strength but also her weakness. She can attack and take down but in doing so she hasn't learned how to be presidential and only hurts herself. Like last night, her "serious candidate" remark only played into the narrative of not being presidential an she tend to go too fair in her attacks.
Permalink Reply by Darlene Black on December 16, 2011 at 4:10pm I like both Bachman and Santorum and I think they are Conservatives but I agree neither has the ability to win. Bachman could replace Boener as Speaker and we would be assured she would not raise a white flag every time she had a chance like he does.
Permalink Reply by NWBill on December 16, 2011 at 7:22pm Wow .... Bachmann for Speaker of the House - never considered that before. Very interesting idea.
Permalink Reply by Nancy Oliver on December 16, 2011 at 8:38pm Exactly Darlene...that is where Bachman needs to be...Speaker of the House. B Zipper...could not agree more...Perry can win...and has what it takes to go the distance as well as every ingredient to beat obama and beat him badly...Bachman's inaccurate accusations too Darlene is what made Perry fall in the polls...but it was bound to happen. He came in too strong and had not had the extensive time to set up his campaign and fresh off of back surgery. Perry also had to deal with fifty raging wildfires in Texas...He handled it all while healing and hurting all the way...But, he never back out...never quit or complained...just kept on going. That is what a true leader does...What G. Washington did and all of our Founders to give to us all an inheritance that now we are in the fight of our lives to hang on to.
Perry got the fire in the belly late for only one reason...Not self glory but to serve...Perry knows we the people need him to restore our economic soundness and to set the record straight with our enemies that obama has so muddled we have lost all credibility. I am sorry Michele...but those Muslim nations won't take a woman seriously...they will do more challenging than believing in where we stand. And then there is the US/Mx. border...Perry brought that truth to the arena and he is the one who will shut it down...he is the one who knows how dangerous it is to us all...not with those illegals fleeing for their lives or to mooch off of us...the dangers is the terroist that sneak in and set up more cells in our nation...but then Perry is not for Amnesty is for punishment to any who broke the law. Innocent kids drug here or native born "anchor babies" well that is the way it has been for so many years we have to figure out what to do...Either way...Perry is for punishing those who broke our laws and invaded our nation; but that is a call of Congress. Bachman even after all the debate...still wants the fence built...and a double fence to boot...but she says our coffers are empty. I agree...so where do we get the money and how long will it take to build that fence...what good will it do if not manned?
Bachman really lost me with those attacks that were waaaay right wing radical. The instate she threw the fit about...well I am Texan and full well know what it entails...Nothing to those who broke the law...and even Anglo grandkids whose parents dumped them and then took off to another state...Like my grandson; red headed and green eyed...very pale complexion...Scots/Irish...Born Texan and here most all of his life...but he is an ILLEGAL RESIDENT as his residency follows his parents. Thank God I can pay in state rates for his higher education. Attacks do not bring out Presidential qualities when it is all that is seen out of a candidate and if there is the truth to tell...then the truth rings with legitimacy.
Just what will it take to beat obama?
Debate is at the bottom of the list...not the top...and Michele, Gingrich, Romney nor any of the candidates have come away unscathed...but who actually has shown to have the least baggage? I will agree Bachman, Perry and Santorum. And who actually holds the firm standing on the TP referendum?...again the three I listed. But Bachman and Santorum both missed the Constitutional questions. I have to agree that Bachman did hit it square in the last one speaking out about the dangers of Newt's SC justices impeachment. Congress does hold the greater power...the SC is to hold the least...but as our Founder's gave us a Constitution that is to evolve with us and should be amended with not only DC but the majority of the states too...then I like Perry's solution. Let the people elect them and hold them accountable too! What Newt failed to say in his defense using Jefferson as an example...is in the writings of Jefferson. He wanted to throw out the scoundrels in robes...but to amend the constitution at that time the people worried...they did not trust the big government either as elections had been very much like ours of late. Perry on the other hand...hit the nail square on every issue pertaining to our Constitution and takes his vow very seriously to uphold it. He shows it.
As for debate...all three have been strong in them...even Perry came out with guns blazing and those first two debates he managed to hold his own and make a great showing...Gingrich and Cain in the top spot...as well as any...have proven the same scenerio...When that target is on them...they fall. That is what debates are meant to do. Not much more. The reason we think Perry is bad at debates is because the pundits made that big issue over Perry saying he may not make it to the first one...Texas was his concern...not getting out of the debates. Indeed...Perry would rather be face to face with the people...not on stage or in interviews even. He is not a celebrity...he is a leader who serves we the people.
What means the most is not what the media is selling us to tune in and boost their ratings...Debates are as I said..low on the list.
First thing is that those who choose the candidate...choose the best that suits thier referendum...their core beliefs...what they think are the most important issues our nation is faceing...choose that candidate wisely and stand firm behind them. I choose Perry but won't tell any who to choose. I vetted all...and even my own governor again. Perry has all the referendum I am looking for...all the strengths and very few weaknesses. One thing...Perry plays to win and knows how to do it!
Second is the retail game...on the ground and campaign staff that is loyal, hard working and professional. Perry gains the best. When he flubs...the staff knows exactly what to do...make lemonaid our of the lemons...and don't care what any think...like Huckabee keeping his job with now MODERATE Fox...add enough sugar and the lemonaid is pretty great stuff! What liberals love is the crazy antics and laughs...they love the personality...the freedoms...the opportunities. Obama had the personality...not McCain...he had to bring in Sarah...but a CONSERVATIVE woman is nothing like a liberal...Palin was to be smeared from here to yonder...Bachman is next if she makes it...and sorry...she is no PALIN! Perry is the same as obama...the kind of guy one wants to have a beer with...the kind that can make one laugh...but when he does so...he does it in a way that does not sell our our referendum. But freedom of speech...yeah as he said...Don't trust the Austin Statesman...and Governor is right...LIBERAL SPIN! None the less...Governor let's the free speech go...he does not argue with those speaking their mind or protesting peacefully. And how about those states that want to legalize wacky weed...fine...Perry is right...it is a state issue. Gay marriage...state issue.
In 2008 the RNC said to play nice...McCain would not even let his staff use oby's middle name "Hussein". Yeah...Palin came in and soon she fought...but what did McCain do...left it up to the woman...This time we need one who knows when the fur flys it is time to strap on the spurs, kick and gouge until that bronc decides to give it up...but never loose sight of the issues or the truth.
RECORD...a successful Constitutional Conservative is what we need to BEAT OBAMA BUT GOOD. And that Perry has...In fact, the longest EXECUTIVE EXPERIENCE TO BOOT!
Debate...yeah...Perry will be ready for obama now...So I say...GO GIG EM GOVERNOR!
Permalink Reply by JC Patriot on December 23, 2011 at 7:59pm Nancy, you make the statement that Bachmann's attacks were "waaaay right-wing radical" -- can you specify just which point(s) in her "attacks" are so radical in comparison to the Constitution?
The liberal strategy against conservative candidates that follow the Constitution is to repeatedly label them as "extremist," "right-wing," or "radical." By repeating such nonsense, we only reinforce their message.
Permalink Reply by Mark Smithey on December 16, 2011 at 9:37pm @ Darlene Black I would like to see that move myself. Bachmann would be great in that role. Boehner could watch her broadcasts from prison.
Permalink Reply by CoChair on December 19, 2011 at 3:15pm Bachmann or Santorium ability to win would be one thing but we certainly need someone that has a proven tract record that all can judge. Neither has any experience that we can grade and I've never had anyone provide us ammunition that we can offer should either become our candidate.
We can go with Judson's choice, Newt, but we also compomize the sanctity of marriage having vows and add a supporting "Pledge" Im curious as to how many men has been asked by their spouses to take that Plege. The one thjing he has going for him is 20 years of practicing for this moment, he is the only candiate who can express in Victorian elegants at least 5 different and plausible answers to any question, almost compromble to Obama. He has created ablsolutely no jobs and when your own party sanctions you forget the absolute ability by the President to get get everything through concress. You resolve the Cap and Trade Issue yourself and should you choose to accept his excuse of "The stupidest thing he's ever done", I think he'll cave to nuts on the other side.
Should anyone want to be unbiased, Judson, this could be a challenged for this site. List for TPN the top five problems that faces our Country, then take each candidate and assigned 1-5 his or her experience with each issure, verifiable grading please(before mentioned unbiased). I do wish that on immigration Numbers USA standards not apply and should anyone think they should, please post for us to take apart.
Permalink Reply by Mark Smithey on December 16, 2011 at 10:06pm B Zipper: What is this "learned how to be presidential" baloney? That sounds as bad as " the most electable conservative". Just slogans that tend to paint a false bearing of a candidate.
Example #1 is Obama. People said he is "presidential" and look what happened.
couldnt agree more with you darlene and b zipper
what I can't understand is why rick has not gone up in polls again -and ron paul is ahead of him--GO FISH!!
I don't understand how iowans are thinking-- even SC--I thought for sure rick perry would be in there--
I feel he has organization- money- to winand beat billionaire obama-- santorum and bachman don't- and I liked
santorum-- I dont think they can win-- I would think palin would support rick-- someone--GHW Bush -enodorsed romeny-- chrisite loves romeny- trump is now an independant- but loves democratic pres. - except obama
none of the established repub party or congress is going to back perry because he wants to clean house and cut pay and time-- has anyone noticed obama has gone after iran banking??as perry said--and now drones are going to do the border partrol??? well, perry recommeded drones- but not without partrol officers-- so recently
the administration /doj/aclu has filed lawsuit against sheriff joe-- why?? because he is doing his job- and he backed perry-- this administration is afraid of perry-- I know it-- they are just playing with republicans by diverting
attention to romeny and newt- letting everyone think they are afraid of them-- right
they have nothing on perry--nothing--and they knowit
