Everyone likes payback. There is nothing better in the world than payback when it is so richly deserved. We now have a chance for some serious payback. This is one of those unusual things than 99% of Americans would agree on.
Who do we want to payback and why is it so important?
The payback is against Iran’s Islamic state.
Why?
Because in 1983, Iran ordered the attack on the United States Marine Barracks in Beirut Lebanon, killing 241 American Marines and wounding dozens of others.
If you have been on Tea Party Nation for a while, you know this story because we have taken the time to tell you about it several times.
In 2001, the family members of those fallen Marines and those who survived the blast sued Iran. While Iran refused to defend the suit, the plaintiffs were required to show the Judge evidence to support a verdict. Among the pieces of evidence was an intercept from the National Security Agency. The call that was recorded featured Iran’s ambassador to Syria ordering the head of what became Hezbollah to attack the American Marines.
The Judge was satisfied and awarded billions to the families and survivors. Families from another terrorist attack, the Khobar Towers in 1996, sued as well. They too received a judgment against Iran.
This story would have ended except for a good investigator who found a frozen Iranian bank account in New York.
Senators and Congressmen came to the aid of the families of the fallen American servicemen and women, introducing legislation to ensure that the money in the frozen Iranian bank did not go back to Iran but to the families of the Beirut Marine Baracks and the Khobar Towers.
This was not an easy effort. Some in the State Department wanted Iran to have its money back as a part of a “diplomatic” effort. A few lobbyists went to Capitol Hill to quietly try to get the bills changed so Iran could get its money back. Our friends over at Brietbart.com did a wonderful expose on this.
Now we are at the end of this fight. Today, the House of Representatives will consider a bill that will impose sanctions on Iran and take billions in dollars away from Iran and give them to the families of the fallen Marines, Sailors, Airmen and soldiers from these two terrorist attacks.
The House and Senate have agreed on language for a bill so this should be the end. The bill should pass and go to the White House for the President’s signature.
The key word here is should.
In Washington, nothing is guaranteed until it is done. The families and survivors of those two terrorist incidents made terrible sacrifices for our nation. Let’s honor their sacrifice.
Call your Congressman today and tell them you want them to vote for HR 1905, which is the Iran sanctions bill.
This is the kind of bill that ordinarily will not generate any calls to a Congressman’s office. Call them today and get their attention. All you need to do is politely ask that your Congressman vote for HR 1905, the Iran Sanctions bill. The fact this bill is getting any calls at all will get their attention.
You do not need to call your Senators today as this is a House vote, not a Senate vote.
Call today and let’s payback Iran for what they did and bring justice to the families of fallen American heroes!

Hmmm, sounds like fast and furious doesn't it, or the panthers who were not proscuted in PA, Obama is Muslim remember? Another point if Israel strikes Iran, then we will not be able to talk to each other. Obama will use that strike to declare Martial law and shut everything down. The only news we might get is those stations like msnbc, etc. There will be no internet and only government phones working.........

Permalink Reply by Debrajoe Smith-Beatty on August 1, 2012 at 9:50am I think America had better be very careful when we deal with Iran.
Iran should never get their money back, We got it, We keep it. Screw-em. but Obama might not sign it, I know he woundn't if this was not a election year. My Scare is that Reid will NOT bring it up for a vote, one reason is because it pass, 2nd reason, he is one nasty S>O>B about anything from the republicans. It is time for that bought and paid for d'crat to retire........I hope we can win the senate this year too, then we can kick is butt out the door.
Permalink Reply by Andrew Cochran on August 1, 2012 at 9:57am Vern et al, the bill can be downloaded from here and go to page 118. Section 502 is titled, "Interests in Certain Financial Assets of Iran."
Permalink Reply by Sharon D. Minton on August 1, 2012 at 11:48am Thank you for the citing of this bill on the financial sanctions against Iran. Imagine how helpful and efficient if the Congressional Reps & Senators would assign a page, section, or topic to office staff to read a bill or piece of legislation and report on it. Or, if each representative, or senator, took an assigned page, topic, or issue on every piece of legislation presented and reported back to the entire House on its worthiness or NOT. Round Robin writing and reading on legislation could be so much more efficiently accomplished.
