The ongoing debate about Sarah Palin continues.  Will she run or won’t she? As someone pointed out, it’s like Groundhog Day.

There are a lot of people, including some on Tea Party Nation, that really want Sarah Palin to run.  But it now grows late in the day and it is increasingly looking like Sarah Palin won’t run.

Palin has made no statement on the subject other that she would announce by the end of September. Time is running out as the deadlines for filing to get on the ballot in crucial states are coming up with some as early as October.

This brings us back to the will she or won’t she question.  In the law, there are two types of evidence: direct and circumstantial.  Direct is evidence that speaks to a fact.  Circumstantial evidence is facts that lead to a conclusion.

Palin has only given us circumstantial evidence to go on here, but what is there suggests that there will be no Palin run in 2012.

Why?

First, Palin has taken no steps to create a campaign structure.  The main reason campaigns are run the way they are is because professionals know what it takes to win.   Running a Presidential Campaign is running a multi-million dollar venture.  For the nominee, that is hundreds of millions of dollars.  You need fundraisers, pollsters, campaign directors and hundreds of others to make it work.

In order to get that kind of money, it has to be raised.  Palin has not set up an exploratory committee or any other type of Presidential fundraising device.  Nor has she lined up large fundraisers to her cause.  Most of them have been spoken for at this point.

Some of the Palin supporters like to tell us she is going to run an unconventional campaign.  You can only be unconventional to a point.  You can have an unconventional airplane but if it doesn’t have two wings and an engine, it isn’t getting off the ground.  Some have speculated that Palin would wage primarily a media campaign.   That still costs money.  So far, all she has done is raise money for SarahPac and that money cannot be transferred to a Presidential campaign.

Finally, there is Palin herself.  She shows little interest in running.

She was on Fox News last night and did not sound like she was that interested in running, especially her statement about not needing a title.

Here is the video.

One way or another, the Palin watch will be over soon.  She has promised an announcement by the end of September.  That is only a couple of days away.

SemperFi my friend ;) We are locked and loaded ready to go when Sarah gives the signal.
Todd Palin: First Dude!!!! Oh, Yeah!!!!
Oh yeah....I agree!

The second you let someone elese or some other group dictate how you strategize or make you second guess your principles you have lost. Whether you realize it or not this argument "I like Palin (or any candidate) BUT we have to have someone that can appeal to independents blah blah blah. You re at least half way to being a losing RINO. Either you believe Conservative values can win or you dont. You either believe in the Constitution or you don't.

See I come at it from a different perspective. I believe Independents (and liberals too for that matter) need to get hip to OUR program. They live in the same country as we do and our program is the one that will save it from the mess it is in now. So either get with it or be a part of folks that destroy it. As for me i am standing by my principles and those Candidates that represent them!

Barry,

I think it would be great and certainly informative if you did write a paper on Sarah Palin & posted it on TPN.
Please consider it.

Judy
I will give it some serious thought Judy, but it will take time and I am a very busy old codger. Still working 60-70 hour weeks plus working out, running and reading. Add my Bible studies and a couple of minutes to eat and sleep, and I don't get much time for reasearch and writing. Most of what I know is right here in the head. Sometimes the head doesn't get it right, but I love a challenge. When I appear to be proven wrong, I take an attitude of "Get it right!" Sometimes I am wrong, but I have been blessed with a great recall ability and a memory like a trap. My late Mother was always in wonderment how I could remember things with such precise detail when she thought I would have been way too young to remember. I believe it is a gift from G-d. Teachers would ask me if something was correct when I was in middle school (Jr. High School) refering to Historical accounts. I always loved History, Current Events and Government. Maybe I'll give it a go. Lord willing.
No need for that now I guess. I feel like I've been had.
Okay, Judson:  just tell me who else can garner this much interest on TPN.  I dare say no one.  I don;t know whether she will run....but she has plenty of supporters!
Good post, Chris.

I have been hearing so much about catering to the independents and how we have to worry about how they'll vote. That thinking can make us second guess our principles & throw out any candidate to appease a group.

Good info,Chris. Thanks.
Palin would draw many more Democrat votes than most realize, just like Reagan did. Does not mean for sure she would win though but as I said before WHO in this race now is saying the things that need to be said? Newt is the closest but can we trust him to really do what he says? An example, in the light of all these "green energy" scams going on and wasting our money right and left WHO would stand up against both Republicans and Democrats to demand a stop to it? Palin. Don't hear the others talking about it. That is just one example. She would turn DC upside down.
