Our government lets foreign countries sue American states?

A few years ago, something like this would have been unthinkable.  Not only one but ten foreign countries suing an American state because they do not like a law the state has passed.  Not only is our Federal government allowing this, it is encouraging it.

 

ATLANTA (AP) — Mexico and 10 other countries have joined the legal fight against Georgia’s tough new immigration law, warning that the strict crackdown could jeopardize close ties between the U.S. and its Latin American neighbors.

The nations filed briefs late Wednesday in support of liberal groups who asked a federal judge to declare Georgia’s new law unconstitutional and block it from taking effect.

The filing marks a new phase in the legal showdown that has pitted Georgia’s attorneys against groups who had threatened to challenge the law even before it was adopted by lawmakers. Mexico’s move also echoes the legal strategy it pursued to challenge tough new immigration rules enacted by other states. Attorneys representing Mexico filed briefs challenging similar legislation adopted in Arizona and Utah.

What happened to our being a SOVEREIGN country?  Or has Obama and the UN changed that without changing the constitution?  Wouldn't surprise me as Obama has nothing but disdain for our Constitution.......he tramples it every day

Not only is our Federal government allowing this

but the citizens are allowing this too.

I think Georgia should just tell them to stick it and not show up. Sooner or later a state is going to have to make a stand.

You must have standing in order to sue in US court.  Foreign entities have no such standing.  I hope common sense rules but we haven't seen common sense in years.  Another WTF moment brought to you by libs and their allies.

We need a leader.  We can't all lead at the same time?  Need someone to set the pace and priortize the standings since there are so many of them.

In the "U.S.Constitution" it states plain as day that can not be done by any Foreign Country or State. I would completely shut off this Money Pit from these tycoons. and I'd tell them where to go! Judson I would go toe to toe with anyone of them when we talk about the rule of our law !

Article VI of the Constitution says they can if we give it to them in a treaty. That's where we go wrong. We need to stop making treaties that do that kind of thing. Unfortunately that could hinder free trade, though. Our economy is too fragile right now for us to pay the higher wages and prices we'd have without such treaties.

 D.Watson, Article IV what section are you looking at it does not say anything like that? I suggest you look at Section III and IV of the Article you state. In fact Section IV guarantees all States of the Union protection against Invasion so I ask where for art thou Mr. Holder and Mr. President. What footing do they stand on absolutely none! As an Avid reader of our Constitution and Federalist Papers I can back up my words can they?

There seems to be nobody in this country that can figure out a way to stop this blatant constitution breaking administration.  We need attorneys and people that know the law front and back and have the power to stop it but where are they?  I will stand behind anyone that starts action against Obama but I am not an attorney and have no idea where we would have to start prosecuting these poor excuse for Americans.  We have got to stop letting foreigners come into this country and changing it to their liking.  They can go back where they came from and change that.   Mexico really needs to be told to butt out and leave us alone and worry about itself.

The states needs to say NO and they need to abide by the 10th Amendment. Other countries and the federal government has no, and I repeat, no authority in this matter.
