One Wednesday, Barack Obama had his Marie Antoinette moment. It is not hard to see. Both Obama and the 18th Century French Queen share an amazing arrogance and disdain for the common man.
On Wednesday, Obama told Americans who were complaining about high gas prices to get used to them. When one man complained, Obama laughed him off by telling him to trade in his gas guzzler that only gets eight miles a gallon!
This is the arrogance of a man who has not pumped his own gas in years, will probably never have to again and does not have to worry about the price of gas, nor its effect on the common man.
He is also the man responsible for soon to be $4 a gallon gas in this country.
He bloviates, saying it isn’t his fault.
Yes it is.
He and his regime keep putting more and more of our resources off limits. We provide loan guarantees for foreign countries to drill off shore while not allowing it in the Gulf of Mexico. His policy of destabilizing the Middle East is making prices skyrocket. Put his economic policies which are making the dollar almost worthless are further pushing gas prices up
Remember candidate Obama? In 2008, the last time gas prices spiked like this, he said his problem was not with the high prices, but only with the rapid rise in the prices. Prices for gas have more than doubled under Obama. His Energy Secretary has said he would like to see gas prices more in line with those in Europe, which translate to about $10 a gallon.
Of course, the drive by media has been silent on all of this.
In 2008, when George W. Bush was still president, we had nightly news stories on the horror of $4 a gallon gas. Today, we do not. Even Fox is relatively tame on this story.
A few months ago, a former executive for Shell Petroleum predicted $4 a gallon gas by this summer and $5 a gallon gas by next summer.
The good news for conservatives is, we have seen this before. For those of us who lived though 1979-1980, this is déjà vu. Back then; we had a President who was the most extreme leftist ever to hold the office. His policies were a disaster for America. He did not believe in America as a great country and wanted us to see more along the line of an impotent European socialist country. He would not stand against our enemies either.
Gas prices soared under the Carter administration. He blindly thought the American people would simply sign up for four more years of misery. American taught him a lesson and put Ronald Reagan in the White House. America thrived because of that decision. In 2012, we are going to tell Obama we do not want four more years of his misery. Our mission now is to find the good conservative to replace the un-American President.

Permalink Reply by Amy Jo Rice on April 7, 2011 at 6:59am And we need to find someone that has Ronald Reagans soul to beat Obama in 2012. We will never be able to replace Reagan, but there has to be someone that has his backbone and desire to serve the people of this country. A man that can build coalitions and get things done, and puts America 2nd behind God and the Constitution.
Obama is out of touch with the American people. I am a Mainer, and proud of it. I drive a 4 wheel drive truck, that gets 17 miles to the gallon, and now costs over $70 to fill. I clip coupons, grow a garden, raise animals, etc., because that is what needs to be done to get by and feed my family. We turn out the lights when we leave a room. I would love to see Obama lugging in wood, so the house will be warm tonight.
Little ranting there, but I am so tired of hearing about "How he beat the odds". Every single person that can feed their family, have a job, keep their home, and have healthcare, today, are "beating the odds".
Permalink Reply by Dave on April 7, 2011 at 7:41am Amy Jo Rice, I know America will never die because of the millions of people like you. They will always take the high road to get it done no matter what it takes. I am proud to be an American because of people like you. Like the lyrics from Lee Greenwood's God Bless the USA. "And I proud to be an American, where at least I know I'm free. And I wont forget the men who died, who gave that right to me. And I gladly stand up, next to YOU and DEFEND her still today. Cause the ain't no doubt I LOVE this land, GOD BLESS THE USA.
By the way, I think Paul Ryan has the soul of Reagan.
Permalink Reply by Jennifer LaBonte on April 7, 2011 at 5:21pm Amy, I agree with all that you have said. Along with many people, I am most concerned who will run against Mr.Obama in 2012. Unfortunately, the people I could suggest do not want to run for president. I have a straw poll here at our home which the Republicans want me to fill out..of course, with a donation. I'll probably send them a few dollars. However, the names do not include those who have said they would run. I feel that the job of choosing someone to run against Mr. Obama is going to be hard. Mainly, b/c the people who I might like have already said they didn't want to run. (Please notice I call him Mr. Obama...he has not earned the title to the position which holds right now.)
We live up in the mountains of AZ & although we don't do all that you do...we still manage to take care of ourselves. Like you, we would like to see Mr. Obama doing something which might take some effort. So far, all we have seen him do is go on vacation or play golf. Grant you, he deserves some R & R; however, we feel he has taken everything to extremes. Sure would like to go on a vacation..it has been nearly 12 years since we could take a vacation! It wouldn't be like the Obama's vacations b/c we couldn't afford to spend the money like he does..IMHO, he's milking all the tax payers when he takes these lavish vacations.
We belong to a local tea party & go to most of the meetings. We also get involved in as many activities as possible. In any "free time" we are either on the computer or are Faxing our government.
