Obama wants America to surrender in another war and wants to bring troops home for "Nation building" here in America.
Obama has managed to screw everything up so far, so the last thing we want his him to do any "nation building" here in America.
Here is the story.
WASHINGTON (AP) — President Barack Obama hailed the beginning of the end of a devastating war Wednesday night, announcing he was pulling home 33,000 troops from Afghanistan by next summer, withdrawing the “surge” of forces he sent in to rescue a flailing effort. Said Obama to a country eager for an exit: “The tide of war is receding.”
A total of 10,000 troops will leave the war zone by the end of this year — fulfilling Obama’s promise — and more than 20,000 additional forces will leave by the summer of 2012, shortly before the president will go before voters in search of a second term.
Still, almost 70,000 U.S. troops will remain in an unstable country, fighting in a war bound to see more Americans killed. Obama said they will leave at a steady pace, but the U.S. combat mission is not expected to end until December 2014 — and even then, a sizable and enduring contingent may remain in a different role.
Obama’s announcement from the White House came in a perilous political environment, with Americans soured on the war and the economy, many members of Congress pushing him to get troops home even faster, and his Republican presidential rivals taking shots at his leadership at every chance. Conceding the economic strain of waging war at a time of rising debt and fiscal constraint, Obama said it was time for America “to focus on nation building here at home.”

Put Al Qaeda on the path to defeat? If the Narcissist in chief would listen to his generals, that might be true. Instead he is putting his political agenda ahead of the country. We should all be disgusted.

The cost to the "taxpayers" notwithstanding, we have paid a humongusly larger amount in American captial. I am referring to the many dead and wounded pride of American youth who serve and have served in our armed forces. My family has paid the ultimate sacrifice in our grandson, an Army Combat Medic who administered medical aid to those wretched people in Afghanistan as well as our troops, and they repaid him with an IED that crushed every organ in his body, Easter Sunday morning, 2007. And as long as our troops have their hands tied, it will continue as long as we are over there and cannot fight back.

We're not there to win, strictly political. Such a shame, I'm a Viet Nam era, ex-military patriot
God Bless

Permalink Reply by Thomas Angle on June 23, 2011 at 5:36am If you fight a war and worry about the cost or the casualties, you are bound to lose. The problem with the Afghanistan war the is problems that where brought about by the public in the Korean War and Vietnam War. There is no commitment, no willingness to win and worried about killing too many people.
Now tell me after all those that shed blood, sweat tears and their lives. Are you going to tell them that it was not worth the cost? We sent them there. We where eager for a war to stop Al Qaeda. We all wanted pay back for the attack. Now we are more concerned about keeping all out handouts instead of making sure our politicians fight the war right and WIN.
Never ask someone to shed their blood sweat, tears and innocence if you do not have the will to stick it out with them. Just a note, the will that is needed is not a speck on a fly's butt compared to the will they will need to fight the enemy.
COL Joseph A. Masterson God bless your grandson and you family.
