Obama’s war on America

The Obama Regime continues to make war on America.  Sometimes the battles are big and obvious.  Sometimes they are much smaller.   But the goal remains the same.

The far left wants to win. 

But what are they winning and how are the fighting this latest battle?

The far left, led by the Obama, Pelosi, Reid axis of fiscal evil wants to fundamentally transform America from the great engine of economic growth and the bastion of freedom to a socialist state where the government controls the economy and the Democrat Party is effectively the one political party that rules government.

Their latest battle in the war against America is a small one but an important one.

America is sitting on vast energy resources.  Discovered oil deposits in three western states equal the entire known reserves for the entire world.

What would a sane government do?

It would promote drilling of these reserves to allow cheap energy for the nation.  Cheap energy reduces the cost of manufacturing and transportation of produced goods.   It allows consumers to spend more of their income on consumer goods instead of having to pay for expensive fuel to get to and from work.

Sounds good so far.

It is good unless you are the Obama Regime.

The Obama Regime wants us to use “Green Energy.”  The problem with so-called “Green Energy” is that it is very expensive and very inefficient.    The only way Green Energy becomes viable is to make petroleum products so expensive that they become competitive. 

One of the best new technologies for helping us get cheap oil is called hydraulic fracturing or popularly called “fracking.”

The Obama Regime does not like it because it is doing just want real Americans want it to do.   Namely, it is effective in bringing oil up cheaply.

So what is the Obama Regime doing?  It is choking fracking to death with regulations.

The latest regulations come not from the EPA but the Department of Transportation.  DOT has reinterpreted an old regulation that makes truck drivers count “waiting time” as a part of the maximum hours they can work in a day.

For truck drivers hauling sand and water to fracking sites, this is crucial.  Those sites are often far from regular roads and truck drivers often have to wait for significant periods of time on site before they can drive again. 

With the new interpretation of an old rule, the Department of Transportation is going to require more drivers for each operation.  More drivers means more costs.

It means more regulatory harassment for businesses trying to make America energy independent. 

Energy independence benefits everyone except the Obama Regime. 

Jeff Landry, Louisiana Congressman and one of the great heroes in Congress has been fighting this.   Landry pointed out that while almost every American wants energy costs down, the Obama Regime wants to drive those costs up. 

This is only a preview of what will happen if Obama gets a second term. 

If Obama gets a second term, he will pull all of the stops out for “green energy.”   In the last month, most parts of America have seen gas prices spike by $.40 or more.   If Obama gets a second term, by the time it is over, we will all long for the days when gas was only $4 a gallon.
