The only spending the Obama regime has been wanting to cut has been the Defense budget. Now things are so bad, a long time defense goal can no longer be met.

The Army’s already shrinking ground force could get a whole lot smaller if Congress can’t find a way to spare the service from the sequestration axe, according to the Army chief of staff..
Slashing another 100,000 active duty troops from its ranks will be the only way Army leaders can pay their share of the $1.2 trillion in budget cuts aimed at defense coffers under the looming sequestration plan, Chief of Staff Gen. Ray Odierno told members of the Senate Armed Services Committee on Thursday. The Pentagon is facing the possible cuts because of the failure of a supercommittee of lawmakers to agree to a deficit-reduction plan.
Under legislation that lifted the debt ceiling last year, the supercommittee’s failure triggered $1.2 trillion in cuts to the federal budget that are to be implemented starting in 2013, with about half due to come out of the military.
The Army’s total force topped out at roughly 570,000 active duty and reserve troops at the height of the Iraq war. With that conflict now winding down and budget pressure on DoD ratcheting up, the Army is already planning to drop down to just over 490,000 troops. The reduction was part of the service’s fiscal 2013 budget plan sent to Congress in February.
But sequestration would force that number down to just over 300,000 troops. Losing those 100,000 troops would essentially eliminate the Army’s ability to fight two simultaneous wars, Odierno said.

The U.S. Air Force is pulling nine cargo aircraft from military operations to support President Barack Obama’s stepped-up visits to campaign events.
The five medium-capacity C-130s and four heavyweight C-17s will be used to ferry security vehicles, armored limousines and communications gear into cities ahead of Obama’s campaign appearances.
In the months before November, the president is expected to fly into multiple cities per week, and speak at multiple sites per day. On Mar. 8, for example, the president will fly to Richmond, and then drive over to a Rolls-Royce aircraft-parts factory. That evening, he’ll fly down to Houston, Texas.
His wife, Vice President Joe Biden and many of his cabinet secretaries are using the Air Force’s fleet of VIP aircraft to visit more states as the election season speeds up.
The nine cargo aircraft will begin operations in April, said Maj. Michelle Lai, communications officer for the Air Force’s 89th Airlift Wing. “They’ll stand down in November 2012,” she said.
So let’s get this straight. Obama is gutting our defense. Defense is the primary job of the Federal Government. While our men and women are in harms way, he is taking cargo aircraft away from their duties of doing things like carrying troops and supplies to Afghanistan so that his limo can be ferried around to his campaign reelection appearances.
If the defense budget is going to be cut, the first cuts should be in the VIP transport area, which includes Air Force One.
Our men and women in uniform deserve our support and respect. Obama simply must be voted out of office.

You have to add to that the years in CIA and being groomed by the Russian KGB. And, his field duty in Afganastan. Seems I remember a paper in the 1970's that suggest the Bush Clan had dealings with irrigating the poppy fields in the 1970's (made millions on the deal). According to being a well spoken Muslim, it would be logical to bring OBOZO in as a trainee around age 20 --- now where does that put us with the Bush crowd.
I am beginning to smell a read hearing here. Bush Sr, was head of CIA and would have known about Obozo and his training program. Bush Jr must at least talk with papa bush. Either one of these two could have vetted OBOZO in 2008 over the objection of PEROCHIE and Dirty Harry.
