Should we file this one under there is nothing to worry about? Probably not. In fact, it should go into the RED ALERT file.
What is it?
Well, it is the Internet. For freedom and liberty, there has not been a more beneficial tool created since the advent of the printing press. Of course this does not go over well with those who would deny freedom to their citizens or others throughout the world.
So they are doing something about it.

United States officials are expected to take further action next week to address the threat of a U.N. takeover of the Internet.
The House Energy & Commerce Subcommittee on Communications and Technology is scheduled to hold a hearing Thursday to discuss the various international proposals to regulate the Internet, which are backed by Russia, China and several former Soviet satellite countries. India and Brazil are also on board with the idea of reforming the “multi-stakeholder process” that currently regulates the Internet.
The ostensible purpose of the proposals is to update the international telecom regulations, which have not been revised in more than a decade.
FCC Commissioner Robert McDowell — who has been sounding the alarm about this potential Internet takeover since early December 2011, as previously reported by TheDC — will testify as a witness during the House hearing.
Doesn’t that make you feel so much better? The Internet could be taken over by the UN. Yes, that is the agency you are thinking of. It is the one that wastes billions of dollars, bad mouths the west, puts wonderful nations like Libya on the Human Rights Council. The one that sends peacekeepers to nations and they mostly end up raping the locals they are supposed to be protecting. Yes, that is the group.
The Internet has been a boon for freedom. No matter how hard nations try, information gets in and out. The blind Chinese activist Chen Guangcheng became a household name because of videos he uploaded to YouTube.
If we let the UN have the Internet, what do you think would happen?
If Obama has four more years, while he is busy bowing to every tyrant on the planet, do you think he might give away the Internet too?
It is not a chance we can take.

It is very near, and the collapse of the dollar and the world economy will bring it to fruition! You can't steal info from someone else, or go on the internet, or drive your vehicle, or walk away with Alzheimer's??? if they can track you. It is here, and it will control everything. The Smart Card, Smart Phone, and anything else they choose to call smart, (except liberals!:) ) will ultimately control you! Facebook is the beginning of knowing EVERYTHING about you, the rest follows!!!
Currently, the Internet in the US (servers and telecom infrastructure that carries it) is owned and operated by private enterprise. First thing to happen would be the government siezing all of this and the control of it. the Chinese government pertty much owns and operates (control) the Internet in that country. So, if the US government were to take control of all the telecommunications, including the Internet, in the US, all it would have to do is turn over that control to the UN. Or simply comply with what ever regulations the UN body imposed.
As we can see, the MSM has already voluntarily surrender control of that media to the progressives, even though it's still owned and operated by private enterprise. Will the owners/operators of the Internet roll over, too? If they want to keep their toys, they will.

Permalink Reply by John Bellaire on I think Obama would either side with the UN or pay somebody off if he does not. If something is harmful to the US, my guess is that he may encourage it, but I am just an ordinary citizen, so what I think matters very little to Obama.
Permalink Reply by Norman Zink on Dick Morrris in his book, Screwed, talks about how Obama will be implementing numerous treaties in the lame duck session of the house and senate. Everyone of them is a throw a way of our National Sovereignty. Law of the Seas, American Oil Royalties to be paid to poor countries, and last but not least the United Nations will act as a Tribunal for aggressions (very broadly defined), foreign and domestic. The control of the Internet by the UN is yet another of the plans by the president to yield our Freedoms and Liberty.
Does not these kinds of treaties by Obama mean that he is a 'domestic enemy?' He does not act in the BEST interest of the United States of America!
Absolutely, Norman. But the enemy isn't just in government, it's also everyone that votes these progressives into office.

He is committed to doing as much Marxist damage to us as he can before he loses. I don't know what can be done to stop him or to undo any treaty making. The ballot box can only do so much.

The media isn't and they are suppose to be the watchdogs over the government but they are now a part of the government. It started 30-40 years ago, or longer, indoctrinating the minds of the college students, now they are moving down to high school and even elementary schools....does this sound familiar? This is how Hitler started his movement. The Progressives have been working on this a very long time and now they have all the hippy-progressives, etc. from the sixties in positions in the government and now is their time to push for everything they have always wanted.
Does anyone watch Glenn Beck? He is telling us the truth. He left Fox so that he could tell everything as it is not as the news media want to filter it to us.

11. Promote the U.N. as the only hope for mankind. If its charter is rewritten, demand that it be set up as a one-world government with its own independent armed forces. (Some Communist leaders believe the world can be taken over as easily by the U.N. as by Moscow. Sometimes these two centers compete with each other as they are now doing in the Congo.)
