In 1836, a brave group of Texans and Tennesseans were surrounded at the Alamo.  General Santa Anna told them they could either surrender now or no quarter would be given.  No quarter is an old term.  It means that no mercy would be shown at the end of the battle.  We all know how the battle of the Alamo ended.

We are seeing no quarter now in political warfare.  Where is this happening and why is it important?

We are seeing it as the far left has attacked ALEC, the American Legislative Exchange Council.   ALEC had been very effective in advancing Voter ID laws and Stand Your Ground laws.  Van Jones and the Color of Change went after ALEC, getting several corporation sponsors to withdraw support.

Instead of standing their ground and fighting, ALEC quickly borrowed John Boehner’s freshly laundered white flag of surrender.   They announced they would withdraw from issues concerned “public safety and elections,” and would just concentrate on economic issues.

That was not good enough for the left, which continued the attack.

Wal-Mart is now the latest company to announce it is withdrawing from ALEC.  Two months after ALEC announced its surrender, the left’s war against ALEC continues.    Van Jones and the Soros have complete victory in their sights.  They will accept nothing short of ALEC’s complete destruction.

There is a lesson here for conservatives.

No accommodation is possible with the far left.  They do not want to cooperate.  They do not want to have a debate about what is best for this nation.  They wish to destroy anyone who disagrees with them.

Rush Limbaugh showed us how we deal with liberals.    There is no compromise with them.   We fight.

While many of the left wing groups that attack conservatives are funded by people like George Soros, there are others that receive money from corporations.  It is time for conservatives to spend some time looking at these groups, see what their funding sources are and go to corporations, foundations and sponsors demanding they cut off the funding for these groups.

We are in a fight for the future of this nation.  We cannot always be on the defensive.  No one wins a fight or a war by being on the defensive.  We must start going after these groups.   We must cut off their funding.

ALEC is now slowly twisting in the wind.  I have joked in the past that my family motto is, “if you cannot be a good example, at least be a horrible warning.”   ALEC is the horrible warning.  There is no compromise with the left.

It does not matter to the left if a group surrenders on important issues.  The left wants conservative groups destroyed.

At the National Tea Party Convention in 2010, Andrew Breitbart said of liberals, “their ideas suck and so do they.”   They are also ruthless and absolutely committed to destroying us and the America we know.

We must stand and fight.  There is no alternative.

Didn't I read this same post not to long ago ?

I encourage everyone to write Walmart and tell them that you will not support them unless they reverse their decision.  If we stand against these communist, we can win.

Already onboard. We need to play the "Deguello" for the left and many more of us need to get after them.

Deguello - No quarter, no mercy, no chance.  Battle cry of Santa Ana's army against the Alamo.  So Judson is right, "fight we must".  But not from behind the walls of our own Alamo, a defensive position,  we must go on the offense, while NOT being offensive.

Best defense is a strong offense, agreed. I don't think we'll get away with "not being offensive", considering how the left plays the game they'll be offended by everything.

Civility was forgotten right after obama talked about it. I for one could care less about being offensive. Thats where we went wrong in the first place. No matter what anyone says or does. Their is no law saying someone could not be offended.

Fight we must.

sigh... well, yeah... look where compromise and "sausage-making" has brought us...

There is something for any and all of us to hate about our current government, economy, our world standing, our basic character as a nation... how can we look forward to any compromise when both sides are owned... or at a minimum highly suggestible to parties other than the electorate... by interests who have far different priorities? "Special interests" is so vague and hackneyed a phrase, but it does say that government is listening to influences that have nothing good in their plans for the average American...

Yep.. the buck stops here...

When I went in to vote recently (for Newt)......... I started to take out my Driver's license and said, "WAIT, let me get out my photo ID for you" which had a dozen people at a table looking at me in mild surprise.  I then started to say, "I spent half a century trying to prove who I AM in America and....." but I could not recall the word Century with all those people staring at me.  As I struggled to remember the word Century, I gave up and said, "Half a hundred years...." and just as quickly, one of the (sure to be Liberal / MD women) voter judges said, "Well, if you can't remember the word for a hundred years, then you CAN'T VOTE".......and she stole my thunder.  The guy took my name and address etc. without touching my driver's license.  SO:

As I approached the voting booth and as I was leaving the room, I repeated without hesitation:

"I struggled for half a century to prove who I AM and NOW nobody cares...." :)

The point I'm trying to make is in total agreement with Judson:  When you're walking anywhere near Liberals, be READY, because they'll JUMP you for sure, and as always TIMING is EVERYTHING.

I've noticed Obama bewailing the fact that Congress is getting nothing done and to get something done the right must cave in to the left.

Above we see what that gets us.

I grew up in a rough neighborhood, bullying all the time.  Mother and father were strict Christians and said, "Turn the other cheek."

I ran out of cheeks.  So I'm 16 years old, and have a Ford with dual exhausts and a pistol, knife and a blackjack under my seat.  No one bullies me anymore.  You have to draw a line and let no one cross.

Fortunate for me, I left my neighborhood at 18 without a record and enlisted in the Army.  Had I stayed there I'd probably lived my life being a number, rather than a name.  Maybe I escaped.  But no one ever bulied me after I made my decision to stand my ground, ever.

Peter Sowatskey

Same with me.  You can't understand how or why people can sit around and beg for government to help them.
