Newt Gingrich’s improbably comeback in the Presidential race has taken another interesting turn as he has scored what must be considered one of the most significant endorsements in New Hampshire.

From CNS News:

New Hampshire's largest newspaper on Sunday endorsed former House Speaker Newt Gingrich in the 2012 GOP presidential race, signaling that rival Mitt Romney isn't the universal favorite and potentially resetting the contest before the state's lead-off primary Jan. 10.

"We are in critical need of the innovative, forward-looking strategy and positive leadership that Gingrich has shown he is capable of providing," The New Hampshire Union Leader said in its front-page editorial, which was as much a promotion of Gingrich as a discreet rebuke of Romney.

"We don't back candidates based on popularity polls or big-shot backers. We look for conservatives of courage and conviction who are independent-minded, grounded in their core beliefs about this nation and its people, and best equipped for the job," the editorial said.

Romney enjoys a solid leads in New Hampshire polls and remains at the front of the pack nationally. A poll released last week showed him with 42 percent support among likely Republican primary voters in New Hampshire. Gingrich followed with 15 percent in the WMUR-University of New Hampshire Granite State poll.

Rep. Ron Paul of Texas posted 12 percent support and former Utah Gov. John Huntsman found 8 percent support in that survey.

Those numbers could shift based on the backing of The Union Leader, a newspaper with a conservative editorial page that proudly works to influence elections, from school boards to the White House, in the politically savvy state.

The value of this endorsement cannot be understated.  New Hampshire is all but Mitt Romney’s home state.  In fact, he owns a house in New Hampshire.  He made a major effort to reach out to the Union Leader to secure the endorsement.

New Hampshire is a must win state for Romney.  If Gingrich wins Iowa and then turns around a week later and wins New Hampshire, which is considered home turf for the Romney campaign, Romney will be on the ropes.  He has almost no chance in South Carolina.  If Gingrich comes out of the first three primaries with wins, the race will be over.

Romney knows exactly what this means.   While Gingrich has been very diligent in not attacking other Republicans, do not expect Romney to show him the same courtesy.

We are 37 days away from the Iowa caucuses and 44 days away from the New Hampshire primaries.

Hang on folks, the ride is about to get very interesting.

He is pro 2nd Ammendment and always has been, he is without question a Christian, he is Pro Life, he married his high school sweetheart 29 years ago and has never been accused of ANY infidelity, he served honorably in the Air Force as a pilot amoung other attributes. I would like to see an oldfashioned American with morals that we could have our children aspire to in the White House again.

THANK YOU RICHARD  YOU HAVE GIVEN ME HOPE!!

From Dudley Brown-NAGR: Newt Gingrich is the poster child for these sort of “flexible” principles.

I’ve been around the block a few times (I’m about to start my 20th year as a gun rights lobbyist) and dealt with literally thousands of candidates and politicians, but no Republican politician has managed to support and vote for anti-gun legislation and still proclaim that he is “pro-gun” more effectively than Newt Gingrich.

Don’t be fooled by his rise in the polls; Newt Gingrich has a long history of supporting gun control ...

I was just doing a search for info on Newt. Newt admits to being a member of the NWO globalist organization Council on Foreign Relations and I wanted to see if he was a member or attended a Bildeberg Group Meeting. What I found is something that piqued my curiosity.

Newt's mysterious two-week cruise this past summer to Turkey and Greece coincided with the date of this year's Bildeberg meeting in Switzerland. Remember how Hillary and Obama mysteriously disappeared for a few days during the same time as the 2008 Bildeberg meeting?

It may be just a coincidence or maybe not. BTW, the President of Turkey was at this year's Bildeberg meeting.

Here's an interesting link to 27 reasons Newt would be a bad President:

NEWT GINGRICH= Member of Council on Foreign Relations & Bohemian Club & Trilateral commission

Because of a heavy cross-membership, some researchers have said that they appear( the Commission) to be an inner circle of the Council on Foreign Relations, with ties to the Atlantic Institute for International Affairs (established in 1961), and the Bilderberg Group.

Bohemian Club-Once a year, Bohemian Club members (often called Bohos) retire to the Bohemian Grove, their 2700-acre retreat in the redwoods of Sonoma County, north of San Francisco, for 16 days, separated into fraternity-style camps. It is at this annual encampment that their most controversial activities are said to take place; everything from bizarre pagan and homosexual rituals, to plans for global domination. The Sonoma County Airport fills with a staggering collection of corporate and military business jets. Grove security is said to be exceptionally tight. The Sonoma County Free Press maintains the Bohemian Grove Action Network to organize round-the-clock protests during the camp.

   Not again

Janet, There is no secret about where Bilderberg meetings are held, what the topics of each confrence are or who attended. This link will give you all the information. To see who attended go to conferences and click on them, when they come up click on any year at the top and you will be able to click on attendies for evety single one ever held. You can also read about the entire history including how they got their name. I found it interesting but it kind of dispells all the "secret society" myths I had about them.

Darlene:

I've heard that there is a new IPO coming out.  It's a new hamburger franchise that will rival McDonalds, may even go international.  Its target market is the political astute.  It's called "Build a Burger".  Hey everyone needs a little levity in their lives.

I saw his interview with the Union Herald from last Monday rebroadcast on C-SPAN. His depth of knowledge was impressive. He knew picayune details about the Middle East and had a well thought out strategy for dealing with both Iran and our precarious energy situation. He said he is a center-right politician that can build a center-right consensus (both accurate descriptions of himself and his abilities) and discussed several ideas on entitlements oriented toward more control by the individual. He is head and shoulders above Romney and I'm glad they made that endorsement.

I would be comfortable with Newt because of his intelligence and ability to form a conservative leaning consensus. Better someone you agree with 70 percent of the time that can do things and be elected than suffer four more years with what we have now. Having said that, other than a few issues I disagree with Newt on there is one thing I find disconcerting as I've read through some of the links on the posts here. I am wondering about this book "The Third Wave" .... which seems like it's a political thesis about a post-constitutional America. It is said Newt had his class read this along with the Federalist papers and the Declaration of Independence. Does anyone know what Newt thought of this book?

Don't know he was strong with me until the illegal alien amnisty thing came up. I think if 12 million illegals need jobs then what about the Americans that also need jobs?

Keep in mind, Robert, that he said that about illegals that have been here for 25 years. That doesn't mean that he is for amnesty for all illegals. I am, however, concerned that he gets failing marks on his immigration voting records from ? I can't remember the web-site? Is it numbers USA? They e-mail me all the time. It is the group that stands totally for stopping all illegal immigration.

We are so far from getting rid of every illegal in this country though. If we could just secure our boarders, and as Herman Cain says, "Start enforcing the immigrations laws we already have in the book" we would be off to a great start. Our sitting president is moving all this in the total opposite direction. He invites everyone to come on in, and is even fighting Arizona for trying to enforce the existing laws we have. Bottom line is: This shouldn't be the end of Newt just because of this one issue.
