Longtime followers of the Tea Party movement have seen numerous claims that this movement was started in 2007 by Ron Paul. A video of a "Money Bomb" event is offered as proof, showing a supporter's sign, containing the words "Tea Party"
Does this video miss any major Ron Paul talking points?
(We want to cover them all in one shot, you know!)

Permalink Reply by Ed Ghiglieri on March 19, 2012 at 9:44am Whoever founded it is not important. What is interesting though is that most Americans support big gov't. I'm one of the few that don't. BTW, Newt is an advocate of a thumb print database for gun owners.
I would love to learn how to educate folks about what the Founders wanted. I was told the other day that the Pledge of Allegiance, Social Security, MediCare and MedicAid are in the Constitution. When I handed the couple a copy of the document they could not find it. The socialism we have now goes back quite a ways, about a hundred years now.
Permalink Reply by Gail Hartel on March 19, 2012 at 9:47am There is so much BS about Newt its hard to tell truth from fiction. Most truths have been turned into misinformation. Newt is the only one I trust to out debate the CamPAINer in Chief, his Holinuts. He may or may not be big g'ment, but at least he has ideas about how to get us OUT of this mess we're in, not further crisis or hostile takeover by the non-military peacekeepers he is organizing. Why is the media not discussing his latest executive order?
Gail, here's some truth from a variety of sources:
Carol, great sound bytes on Newt, short and to the point. However, all the naysayers here, wouldn't bother even viewing it.
After all these months, they still say the same thing. It's clear that we are not talking to them.
You are right Carol! It's a great video. Those in a position to know, and are not invested in maintaining the massive spending status quo are for Newt! I hope that all would watch at least this 2 minute clip!
It's important, and informative

If Newt loses out in this race, I'd like to have him put together a study course that every politician running for any office would have to take and pass before filing for the office.
It would certainly limit the amount of politicians we have now and would clean up the slate for the future.
At the present time, "Ignorance is Bliss".

Permalink Reply by Kristin Fecteau on March 19, 2012 at 11:07am You haven't answered the question. Was THAT Newt's intent when he made this statement (on video, so you can't deny it), that it was in regard to intelligence?
Permalink Reply by JOHN DELASAUX on March 19, 2012 at 2:46pm Gee, simmer down, Kristin.
When we say "smaller government", we don't mean that EVERY DEPARTMENT must ALWAYS be smaller in EVERY SITUATION that the country finds itself in.
If there were 100 forest fires set by terrorists next year, FEMA and the fire fighters might have to be bigger to take care of it.
If Newt was able to balance the budget and create a surplus to pay off some National Debt, why are you so set on blasting him?
The purpose of wanting smaller goverment is to REDUCE TAXES and REDUCE SPENDING, not to cut services which are necessary.
If someone can give us more services for less taxes, what are you opposed to about that?
Kristin, are you even listening to yourself? You come in here with what you consider to be a "gotcha" which turns out to be not a gotcha at all and expect that to carry weight. And now this flippant reply to a very legitimate observation. Are you really saying that we need a reduced State Dept and reduced CIA capabilities? Are you really against Reagan's philosophy of Peace Through Strength?
Why don't you just tell us what your guy says about the State Dept? I'm sure it would be so dazzling it would make Santorum supporters of all of us.
