Longtime followers of the Tea Party movement have seen numerous claims that this movement was started in 2007 by Ron Paul. A video of a "Money Bomb" event is offered as proof, showing a supporter's sign, containing the words "Tea Party"
Does this video miss any major Ron Paul talking points?
(We want to cover them all in one shot, you know!)

Permalink Reply by Dennis L on March 19, 2012 at 8:04am I won't argue who the first Tea Party politician was BUT the Tea Party is for small LIMITED government. Newt Gingrich's record is one of a big government guy. He'd be hands above the president that we now have, and he talks like a Tea Party person, and he may have changed his way to embrace our positions but he's not going to win the GOP nomination to run as the Republican nominee for president. Newt has no chance of winning. Like it or not Mitt Romney is the nominee.
BTW if you listen to Romney he's also saying all the right things. Santorum chooses to talk about social non-issues, and Paul's following is too small. As they say its the economy stupid and Romney is talking about it. I'm no big fan of Mitt Romney but he is the only hope that we have. Accept it. End of story.

This is a take-off of the wording in the embedded video "I win the debate"? Same message...
Typical Ron Paul talking point, repeated again and again.
Vern, ___/--%_-===#....I__^^^^_____....%, so I win the debate!
Well, I really can't argue with that. You win the debate!
(You Ron Paul people are just so smart!)

Just saying a false statement doesn't make it true.
Do you happen to be a Ron Paul guy?
Most of them will say anything to win a point.

It might help your understanding of Newt Gingrich's principles to know that while he was Speaker, Newt downsized or eliminated several govt agencies and was on the brink of selling the building that housed them when he was forced to step down. Newt meant it when he said he intended to reform Congress!
Newt has a whole list of Executive Orders he would sign the first day to start reversing the damage that has been done, especially by this administration. He's got all kind of solutions I think you would really like - I urge you to take a look at them . http://www.newt.org/solutions/ One of them is to "Tell the Truth about National Security". My favorite thing about Newt is that he speaks plainly and openly to We The People - in other words, he tells the TRUTH!
Permalink Reply by Johnny Templeton on March 19, 2012 at 8:42pm The only hope for America is a Third Party (Conservative Americans) with Gingrich the challenger to RomneyCare and ObamaCare (two of a kind). Check out how the great Republican majority in the House of Representatives voted on HR 347, a bill signed into law by Obama. Third Party---We gotta start somewhere!
So it elects Obama, so what. He wil be elected anyway.
Johnny, Minor parties (there is no "third" party) tend to draw votes from the major party whose platform is closest to them; and, thereby, elect the candidate of the major party that is most different from them. Teddy Roosevelt elected Woodrow Wilson, Ross Perot elected Bill Clinton, and Ralph Nader took enough votes on the Green ticket in Florida to elect George W. Bush in 2000.
Therefore, this country does need a new political party that can get at least 10% of the vote. Let's start the Green Homosexual Socialist Welfare Labor Trial Lawyers Negro Party and draw votes from Obama. That's the only way to elect Tweedledee (Romney) instead of Tweedledumb (Obummer).
Dean Allen
Thats not 10%. It'more like 84%
Permalink Reply by Johnny Templeton on March 19, 2012 at 8:56pm This must be the election of change. The Tea Party will accompolish nothing if we continue to vote for the lesser of the evils. Republicans voted against free speech, free assembly, and regress against the government by supporting HR347. Republicans are just as bad as Democrats. Let's show the slime street media, and, yes Fox News with the hand picked so called conservatives Rove, Dana, Coulter, and the former Clinton Aide.
Please Tea Party let's stand for something, not just bow to the establishment Republican Rhinos! If we lose this time, then we will take a stand next election, and the next, and the next! At least the Tea Party will not be called Impotent, which we are, if we continue to support someone just because we were chided into believing that we must support the REPUBLICAN.
