With in the Tea Party Nation, there is a huge divide.  There are a few people who love Mitt Romney.  They are very few.  There are most who are willing to tolerate him and then there are those who say they will not vote for him under any circumstances.

Must we support Romney and make certain he wins?

Unfortunately we must.

For those who believe I have had a sudden conversion and am now a member of the Mitt Romney fan club, you may put such suspicion to rest.  I suspect my chances of joining the Mitt Romney fan club are slightly less than the chances of Obama becoming a Constitutional Conservative or releasing his records.

Unfortunately we have seen what Obama does as President.  From releasing classified information to our enemies to pandering to any group that will help him raise money and get reelected, Obama will do it.

The release of classified information is not new.  Early in the days of the Obama Regime, the Regime released information on our interrogation techniques so Al-Qaeda and other terrorist groups could better prepare their soldiers and he released our exact number of nuclear warheads.  Until then, that was one of our closest held secrets.

Obama has expressed a desire to unilaterally disarm America.

In fact, he has repeatedly expressed the desire to simply bypass Congress and the Constitution and simply do what he wants to do.

His cries of “We can’t wait,” are the cries of a man who wants to be dictator.  He wants to ignore Congress, elections, the will of the people and 235 years of freedom so he can act as he wants.

He decided the Defense Of Marriage Act was unconstitutional so he, not the Supreme Court or Congress decided that it had to go.  He decided that he did not like the deportation of young illegal aliens so he, instead of Congress, decreed that would not happen.

What does anyone believe will happen if Obama has a second term?

He will not be subject to another election.  He already hinted to Dmitri Medvedyev that he would be able to give the Russians what they wanted in arms negotiation treaties after the election.

What else will he do?

What other laws will he decide he does not like and simply not enforce?  What about things like the First Amendment?

For conservatives, for real Americans, this is not even an issue that requires a moment of thought.

Romney has never been my candidate.  Gingrich was.  Other people wanted Cain, Bachmann or Perry.    They all lost.

Even if Romney is as bad as he was in Massachusetts, he will be an improvement over Obama.

There are simply no circumstances under which a second Obama term is acceptable.  The nation will not survive it.

For those who say, they will not vote for Romney, you are voting for Obama.  I don’t like it but it is the truth.

I have said this before and I will say it again.  On Election Day, I will go to the voting booth with a large and cold bottle of Pepto-Bismol and a stomach distress bag.  I will push the button for Romney and pray I do not leave the rancid dregs of what was once my breakfast on the voting machine, but I will vote for Romney.

The hope for conservatism lies in Congress, which is what our founding fathers intended.

No matter what, we cannot have a second Obama term.  I don’t care how bad it is, we must all vote for Romney this fall.

As Perry, Gingrich and others have said in their endorsements of him, he isn’t Obama.

Really. What the hell are you, the spelling police?

And, why don't you write something of a substantial nature instead of criticizing people?

Read the Declaration of Independence and if martial law is declared, the dictatorship will not last long.

Actually, you are right.  "IF" that is his plan....I fear (and that is all I have to go on is my FEAR) that he will have foreign troops on our soil to help him.  Please tell me I am wrong.  I really do WANT to be wrong.

Tom, that is true, unfortunately.

Penny, Americas citizens are armed to the teeth, this is why I don't believe even The Bummer is stupid enough to try to stop the elections by Martial Law. It would be a lesson in the true meaning of the Second Amendment.

Penny, I have been seeing the same thing...and I, too, am very concerned.  Remember during that time that we were trying to get them to balance the budget and he said, "I may suspend the elections to FIX the budget"????

I have the same fear you do.

And what if you're wrong about Romney, Judson?  What if he turns out to be as bad as, or worse than, Obama?  That's my concern.  I really am concerned that the only differences between Obama and Romney are skin color and party affiliation.

Even if you are correct, though, and Romney will not be as bad as Obama, you still leave hanging a very important question: when will we conservatives quit accepting crap from the Republican Party?  Every election we rally around the Republican flag because we fear the candidate chosen by the Dumbocrats.  Every election we ratify the treasonous insanity of a Republican Party that gives us liberals in conservative suits and convinces us to vote for the liberal because "he (or she) is not as bad as Democratic candidate."

Every election, we sacrifice OUR principles and OUR beliefs to help elect an idiotic liberal to office.  When our candidates DO win elections under the Republican label, the mainstream Republican party does everything they can to isolate and marginalize our candidates unless they compromise with the mainstream.

I, for one, don't just dislike the mainstream Republican candidates; I DESPISE both the Republican AND Democratic parties.

I DESPISE being forced to compromise my principles and beliefs to help elect someone that I think is no better than the person he is trying to replace.

People tell me that the country is doomed if we re-elect Obama.  I agree.  But I also think the country is doomed if we elect Mitt Romney.  Even if Ron Paul had a chance at winning (he doesn't), this country would be doomed if we elected Ron Paul.  Paul's "plans" are mostly incoherent fantasies sprinkled liberally with buzz words that excite the tinfoil hat crowd.  Romney's platform boils down to "Elect me because I'm better than Obama.  I know how to create jobs."  Within that vague rhetorical cloud hides a universe of liberalism.  If we elect Romney, we will get a veneer of conservative rhetoric over our slow, suicidal slide into socialism.  And if Romney is elected, he will be elected by compromised conservative Tea Partiers ... by us.

I don't yet know for whom I will vote, Judson.  Voting for either Romney or Obama will force me, yet again, to compromise my beliefs and principles.  I've reached the end of my ability to compromise.  I will find someone else to receive my vote.

What I really want to see is a mass exodus by true patriots and conservatives from the Party of Corrupted Compromise, aka the Republican Party.  What I really want to see is a true Tea Party with a true Tea Party candidate.

At this point we have Obama pushing all of the boundaries of executive power.  If it is allowed to continue you will see rule by fiat.  No matter how bad Romney is, he will not do that.

Romney has never demonstrated either comprehension nor fealty to constitutions be they federal or State. Romney is a "big government" elitist. So while Romney may not be as Marxist or anti-American as Obama, he is equally deficient constitutionally.

I will continue to pray that God provides us other alternatives.

Fact.  He has not.  The man is New World Order.  Vote for what the GOP offers and we get the same thing.  RON PAUL.  Wake up people and demand a Constitutionalist.

Robert, I don't see it as 'compromising' so much as taking a 'pragmatic' view. I don't like it either, but right now these are the only 2 viable candidates we've got to choose from. A vote for a 3rd alternative doesn't even make a point -- it just wastes a vote!

I'm sorry you're feeling down but take the long view:  If we can avert outright disaster in November we will have 4 years of relative peace (maybe even some prosperity) in which to build a new party to OUR specifications and continue building on the momentum we've accrued in the past 4 years. At the same time we'll be nipping at Congress' heels, yapping at Romney and spreading the conservative message even further.

Not a bad prospect..... It's more than Ghandi had..... Keep the faith!
