Fresh from their latest lobotomy, Republicans in Washington are eagerly lining up to accept Barack Obama’s J. Wellington Wimpy offer.  The Republicans, who are on the cusp of being able to sweep Obama and the Party of Treason out of Washington, instead are about to take the Wimpy offer, which will guarantee Obama’s reelection and may even thwart the GOP’s chances to control Congress.

J. Wellington Wimpy, for those who are not familiar with him, is a cartoon character from the old Popeye cartoons.   In 1932, the last time we were given a depression by the Party of Treason, Wimpy was in a Popeye cartoon and uttered the famous line, “I will gladly pay you on Tuesday for a Hamburger today.”

The Democrats learned from that cartoon, and it’s message has been their strategy ever since.  Gullible Republicans simply play along.

The Hamburger that the Democrats want is more taxes and more spending.  Like a crack addict going into tremors at the sight of white powder, the Democrats desperately need their latest fix of other people’s money.

Their latest ploy is fairly simple.  With the debt negotiations, they are going to offer huge spending cuts tomorrow (or twenty years out, but do not ask the liberals for details --- it only confuses them).  The liberals will gladly give the Republicans spending cuts tomorrow in exchange for tax hikes today.

The Republicans will sign on to such a deal.  The only problem is we will get the tax hikes today and the spending cuts will never materialize.   Once the new money comes in the Party of Treason will say the cuts are not needed, as the deficit is now not as bad as we thought it would be.

The problem with this strategy is it will allow Obama a huge political victory and probably seal his reelection.  With Obama projected to raise ONE BILLION DOLLARS for his reelection campaign, he will carpet bomb the airwaves with the message that he is the fiscally responsible candidate.  He cut $4 trillion in spending.   The other commercials will show John Boehner and Mitch McConnell as the one’s who raised taxes.

Mission accomplished.   Obama will get his other people’s money fix for the Party of Treason and will destroy the political opposition in one fell swoop.

Meanwhile, on the Republican side of the aisle, while the leadership wanders around like newly castrated cattle, you would think at least one of them would figure out that Obama, Pelosi and Reid are setting a trap for them.

In 1986, we got amnesty.  The squishy Republicans and the Party of Treason collaborated and convinced Reagan to sign the amnesty bill.  We all remember the amnesty, but most people forget that it was a two-part deal.  There would be amnesty but the border was to be sealed too.

The Democrats got their hamburger and twenty-five years later, the Republicans are still waiting for them to pay.

The Democrats, being the addicts to other people’s money, understand what all addicts do.  They understand how to find enablers and how to manipulate them.   They have found that in the Republicans and they can very easily manipulate them.

The Democrats realize that the Republicans worship at the altar of bipartisanship.  Like the abused woman in a violent relationship, the Republicans keep hoping the Democrats will like them and keep saying, “Oh they really aren’t that way.”

In the eternal quest for “bipartisanship”, the GOP gives into the Democrats, like the codependent woman who believes if she just gets this one thing right, her abuser will stop abusing and become loving.  The Republicans throw themselves at bipartisanship, dreaming that the Democrats will finally become their friends and the media will start treating them with the same fawning adoration they give the Democrats.  The Republicans will have their Sally Field moment, finally being able to gush, “You like me.  You really like me!”

The problem with ideology is that it is a symptom of a party bereft of beliefs.  That is why the Democrats are not bipartisan.  Say whatever else you want to about the Party of Treason, they have their beliefs, they have their agenda and they stick with them like glue.   The Republicans, for the most part have neither core beliefs nor an agenda, which is what makes it so easy for them to be bipartisan.

Unfortunately for America, they will be bipartisan.  They will gladly give the Obama, Pelosi, Reid axis of fiscal evil the tax increases they want today, in exchange for the promise of spending cuts on Tuesday.

Only Tuesday will never come.

This is where the Tea Parties are messing up.  They have switched from rallies where the people get together because they are angry about the issues to providing "events" that try to "inspire patriotism".   Dammit, I am pissed off about the actions of this administration and would like to gather with others who are as pissed off as I am (if any exists).  I am tired of suggesting rallies to protest raising the Debt Ceiling, or the VA Administrator banning the use of the work "God" from the military burial areas, or the attacks on Arizona, or the failure to protect our border, or the turning on our allies while supporting our enemies, etc, etc, etc - and essentially being told to "call your Representatives".

The Tea Parties came together, as Glenn Beck said, to show that we are not alone in our outrage - we need the interaction and visible show of support.  Unless the tea parties understand that, they are destined to fade away.

I think it's time for the Republican's to go and start a third party the TEA PARTY!!!!

Here's another perspective--Adults vs. Children

Please, email, call, let your Senators/Reps know how you feel about their "childish" behavior!

Republicans are like an ostrich with their heads in the sand with Obama poised behind, pants down.

Folks will be well advised to get their financial house in order because inflation will necessarily follow a tax hike...and I predict it will be worse than any the nation has ever seen...

Republicans will take the a$$ whipping of a lifetime if they agree to raise taxes - Obama will be re-elected; they will regain the House; and if you think they were hell bent on destroying the nation now, you should tremble at the thought of how fast this nation will cease to exist as we know it.  The floodgates of illegals will be opened; there will be even more losses of liberty starting with severe restrictions on gun ownership and Obama will not leave office in our lifetime.

The comparison to Germany/Hitler will take on more significance in the coming months.  People who you never suspected would go to the dark side will be displaying Vote for Obama signs in their yard.  Scary days ahead.

May I just elaborate on your first sentence--"Republicans are like an ostrich with their heads" UP BHO'S BUTT! (since I couldn't find a family friendly pic of that, I'll post this instead). . .

I like it Nancy!!

I'd also have the neck appear as if it had exited the ground behind the legs and re-entered via the rectum.

Man, I'm starting to hate republicans as much as the democrats. They are such bi#*ches. We need real men to be elected in the republican party. I feel they are together on the destruction of this country. I believe this is all scripted and the republican party are the members of the same corrupt body commissioned to throw the fight to usher in an anterior agenda.
You have it right Eugene. Time to cut off their pay check.
Thanks Debrajoe. I meant alterior agenda not anterior. This phone causes me too many typos.
There will be 'Hell' alright...in a 'Hail of GUNFIRE'!
What is wrong with the members of the Republican party? Are they insane? We need Obama out of office, BIG TIME! Have people been asleep so long, they can't wake up? Get real Republican Party, I was one who voted you in, and I can vote you out too!  Hopefully there will be some good people running next time, that do care about the United States OF America and its people.  Who will actually do something about the governing party in office now.  If not my vote will change and if there is no other party to vote for, then you will have one less voting for all of you!!!
$2 trillion appears to be the "sweet spot" for spending cuts in order to negotiate a debt limit increase. Rather than cut wasteful and unconstitutional spending, Congress and the President are prepared to trim around the edges to strike a deal.
