File this one under the heading of its pretty good but version 2.0 is probably needed.

From the Wyoming Trib.Com

State representatives on Friday advanced legislation to launch a study into what Wyoming should do in the event of a complete economic or political collapse in the United States.

House Bill 85 passed on first reading by a voice vote. It would create a state-run government continuity task force, which would study and prepare Wyoming for potential catastrophes, from disruptions in food and energy supplies to a complete meltdown of the federal government.

The task force would look at the feasibility of

Wyoming issuing its own alternative currency, if needed. And House members approved an amendment Friday by state Rep. Kermit Brown, R-Laramie, to have the task force also examine conditions under which Wyoming would need to implement its own military draft, raise a standing army, and acquire strike aircraft and an aircraft carrier.

The bill’s sponsor, state Rep. David Miller, R-Riverton, has said he doesn’t anticipate any major crises hitting America anytime soon. But with the national debt exceeding $15 trillion and protest movements growing around the country, Miller said Wyoming — which has a comparatively good economy and sound state finances — needs to make sure it’s protected should any unexpected emergency hit the U.S.

Several House members spoke in favor of the legislation, saying there was no harm in preparing for the worst.

“I don’t think there’s anyone in this room today what would come up here and say that this country is in good shape, that the world is stable and in good shape — because that is clearly not the case,” state Rep. Lorraine Quarberg, R-Thermopolis, said. “To put your head in the sand and think that nothing bad’s going to happen, and that we have no obligation to the citizens of the state of Wyoming to at least have the discussion, is not healthy.”

Wyoming’s Department of Homeland Security already has a statewide crisis management plan, but it doesn’t cover what the state should do in the event of an extreme nationwide political or economic collapse. In recent years, lawmakers in at least six states have introduced legislation to create a state currency, all unsuccessfully.

Most of this makes a lot of sense.  In fact, it makes so much sense, you have to wonder why more states have not considered this.

Many organizations make disaster plans so why shouldn’t the states.

Some people dismiss the calls for the creation of a state currency as lunacy.  Five years ago, they would have been right.   That was before Barack Obama and the Party of Treason controlled Washington.

If Obama were merely incompetent he would occasionally get something right.  Anyone with eyes can see what is going on in Europe and Obama wants to take us down the same path?  That is a recipe for economic disaster.

Having a plan for a state currency as well as a state military, given the state of the world right now is not only not a bad idea.  It is a commendable idea.

There is just one problem in what Wyoming is talking about.  In their plan, they are talking about an aircraft carrier.

Really?

Wyoming is a beautiful state, which is totally landlocked.  It is hundreds of miles from the nearest ocean.

Wyoming, it is a great plan but you probably don’t need the aircraft carrier.

You are right Brother.

States "Exercising their Rights under the CONSTITUTION is THE Answer".

Repeal the 16th & 17th Amendments and go back to the 50 States Appropriating the money for the Federal Budget (per capita) ......NO FEDERAL INCOME TAX........and the U.S. Senators being appointed by the State Governments.

Small "Standing Army" WITH STATE MILITIAS PROVIDING THE BULK OF MILITARY TROOPS IN TIMES OF "CRISIS".

Semper Fi,

Ron

Definitely Repeal Obama Care as you have no idea what is in there for a youth military project check it out please.17 million set aside for this effort to subject our citizens to outlandish policies.

I think the highly bastardized version of "Keynesian" economics that has come to be in vogue in Goofyville on the Potomac likely bears a lot of the blame for the idea that growing the federal responsibilities well outside the limits defined in the Constitution is beneficial to the nation, the nation's people and to the nation's economy.

Where do you suspect that Valarie Jarrett got the dufous idea that extending unemployment benefits was good because doing so would stimulate the economy and contribute to the economic growth and accelerate a recovery?

I suspect that even Keynes would get a really good laugh out of some of the ridiculous justifications that people have created using his theories.  The foundation that Keynesian theory must have if it is to have any real-world support is that governments should pay off and retire their debts as soon as their economy enables them to do so.  Without that, the only thing "supporting" Keynesian economics is the hot air of politial bloviation.

If it were only to pitch in for natural disasters like earthquakes, I wouldn't mind that.  What I do mind is paying for Progressive social programs and agencies like the EPA , dept of Education etc.that are just eating us alive.

NO CONSTITUTIONAL CONVENTIONS UNTIL THE LAST PROGRESSIVE HAS BEEN DRIVEN FROM PUBLIC LIFE...Remember, legislative law is what it is only at this moment...legislative law can be changed, repealed or amended at any time...we can walk away from the debt but there will be consequences...We can kill the current Federal Reserve system legislatively at any time and replace it with a transparent and publicly controled system...a central bank is a necessity in a huge economy like ours but we don't need the system we have now...it is too political and does far too much damage.

The Wyoming Plan continues to please me...the aircraft carrier bit still tickles me, but I understand the joke...even in these serious days a little humor helps...

Ron & Deb...money is a very, very complicated subject...very few people have the actual skills needed to manage the money supply, inter-bank interest rates, and the thousand other elements in the system...We as a citizenry need to establish the goals for the monetary system, enforce them on Congress, and then make Congress enforce our demands on whatever body replaces the Fed...But I'm not worried about any of that yet because I think it's alaready too late to fix the current system...there will be a global currency & credit crash -- driven by the Eurozone problem, China's economic instability and the hyper-inflation now affecting South Asia...The Dollar will 'the last man standing' because as bad as it is, our debt and inflation are both much less negative than the rest of the world's situation...but the Dollar will eventually crash...once we're gone all debts will be null and void, as will all assets...How we re-start our currency system will define whether we remain a republic that uses some of the tools of democracy or whether we become a true socialist state...

But everyone should plan for collapse because it is coming...Wyoming's legislature is at least aware of the probability, which is more than I can say for the rest of the states.

What people do not know is that the Green River runs from Wyoming into Arizona and Utah. The Green River is one of the largest rivers in the USA.

Pitt & Mayher are "Pimps" that live in Californication !~!

Because this is where they make their millions and  spout off their mouths to everyone else about what they believe so I say get out don't let the door hit you on your way out either. I ask you how far would either of these two sputniks go if they were in a socialist Country? All their wealth would be gone redistributed for the government to decide what and where it goes. Secretary of State Hillary is no different than them. Most of the democrats have lost their way. If they truly Stand by their Oath they would doing what's best for the American citizens not anyone else period. My Mother always Charity begins at Home! Dwell on that for awhile and come to your own conclusions my friends.

As I have stated before the boundries for a free nation for conservative like minded people has already been drawn, all that needs to be done is brush the dust off it. Its called the Mason Dixon Line. All we need are elected officials with enough balls to do the right thing.

Woodrow Wilson's administration devised a plan in 1913 "under the guise of paying for World War I, whereby,  The Feds would put a"direct tax on We The People" (never to exceed 2 %) . NEVER HAD THE "FEDERAL GOVERNMENT DIRECTLY TAXED A CITIZEN". The State Governments did not want to pay it themselves, so they went along with this scheme. WHAT THE STATES "DID NOT REALIZE IS THAT THEY HAD JUST SURRENDERED THEIR SOVEREIGN LEADERSHIP OVER THE CITIZENS IN THEIR STATE TO THE "DICTATORSHIP OF WASHINGTON, D.C".

THIS WAS MORE THAN AN "APPROPRIATION OF MONEY"....IT WAS SIMPLY AN UNCONSTITUTIONAL SEIZURE OF POWER.....SINCE THAT TIME THE STATES HAVE BEEN WEAKENED BECAUSE "THE POWER OF THE PURSE' WAS LOST. LATER THE "POWER OF THE SWORD' WAS LOST BY NATIONALIZING THE MILITIAS BY "CREATING THE "NATIONAL GUARD" WHICH WERE ALWAYS INTEND TO BE "STATE GUARD' UNDER THE DIRECTION OF THEIR GOVERNOR.

THE FOUNDERS OF OUR CONSTITUTION "ALWAYS" SAY THEMSELVES AS "A VIRGINIAN" (OR WHAT EVER COLONY/STATE THEY WERE FROM) FIRST AND TEN AS AN AMERICAN.

Robert E. Lee (when offered the Head of the Union Army) said, "I cannot draw my sword against my beloved Virginia". He did not say "The South" !

Ron

When you realize that the structure of our money is actually TRIBUTE paid by every man, woman, child and institution, business or charitable, for the privilege of using said money for its  lawful intent: A medium of exchange.

If the Congress took its responsibilities seriously, they would assure the amount of money in circulation is sufficient to sustain the growth that naturally occurs in a free enterprise system... not to control us. In this system, money is spent into circulation, not created out of thin air, borrowed at interest and sold back to us to use as needed for all aspects of life.

The true definition of Capitalism is in High-Finance’s role as the servant of vision, courage, ideas, savings, philanthropy, investment and commerce! The love of money as a vehicle for profit or control for its own sake will always be the root of all evil and that includes the Fed as currently structured.

Perhaps the evils of the current international money market manipulations most don’t even notice can be countered with Justice applied with a Moral Compass.

Major Rivers - Bighorn River, Green River, Belle Fourche River, Powder River, North Platte River Major Lakes - Yellowstone Lake, Glendo Reservoir, Bighorn Lake, Boysen Reservoir, Flaming Gorge Reservoir, Seminoe Reservoir, Alcova Reservoir, Keyhole Reservoir

During WWII the Bridge on the west end of Green River, Wyoming was 7th on Hitler's bombing schedule of the USA, because that bridge connects the East USA to the West USA. The bridge crosses the Green River. In some places the Green River is a mile deep. It is a very large body of water.
