File this one under the heading of its pretty good but version 2.0 is probably needed.

From the Wyoming Trib.Com

State representatives on Friday advanced legislation to launch a study into what Wyoming should do in the event of a complete economic or political collapse in the United States.

House Bill 85 passed on first reading by a voice vote. It would create a state-run government continuity task force, which would study and prepare Wyoming for potential catastrophes, from disruptions in food and energy supplies to a complete meltdown of the federal government.

The task force would look at the feasibility of

Wyoming issuing its own alternative currency, if needed. And House members approved an amendment Friday by state Rep. Kermit Brown, R-Laramie, to have the task force also examine conditions under which Wyoming would need to implement its own military draft, raise a standing army, and acquire strike aircraft and an aircraft carrier.

The bill’s sponsor, state Rep. David Miller, R-Riverton, has said he doesn’t anticipate any major crises hitting America anytime soon. But with the national debt exceeding $15 trillion and protest movements growing around the country, Miller said Wyoming — which has a comparatively good economy and sound state finances — needs to make sure it’s protected should any unexpected emergency hit the U.S.

Several House members spoke in favor of the legislation, saying there was no harm in preparing for the worst.

“I don’t think there’s anyone in this room today what would come up here and say that this country is in good shape, that the world is stable and in good shape — because that is clearly not the case,” state Rep. Lorraine Quarberg, R-Thermopolis, said. “To put your head in the sand and think that nothing bad’s going to happen, and that we have no obligation to the citizens of the state of Wyoming to at least have the discussion, is not healthy.”

Wyoming’s Department of Homeland Security already has a statewide crisis management plan, but it doesn’t cover what the state should do in the event of an extreme nationwide political or economic collapse. In recent years, lawmakers in at least six states have introduced legislation to create a state currency, all unsuccessfully.

Most of this makes a lot of sense.  In fact, it makes so much sense, you have to wonder why more states have not considered this.

Many organizations make disaster plans so why shouldn’t the states.

Some people dismiss the calls for the creation of a state currency as lunacy.  Five years ago, they would have been right.   That was before Barack Obama and the Party of Treason controlled Washington.

If Obama were merely incompetent he would occasionally get something right.  Anyone with eyes can see what is going on in Europe and Obama wants to take us down the same path?  That is a recipe for economic disaster.

Having a plan for a state currency as well as a state military, given the state of the world right now is not only not a bad idea.  It is a commendable idea.

There is just one problem in what Wyoming is talking about.  In their plan, they are talking about an aircraft carrier.

Really?

Wyoming is a beautiful state, which is totally landlocked.  It is hundreds of miles from the nearest ocean.

Wyoming, it is a great plan but you probably don’t need the aircraft carrier.

To all you guys who were on the ground in Vietnam, I was flying close air support saving your butts. I still have your backs (and butts). I have my own Wyoming plan here in South Carolina. If all hell breaks loose, there will be many of us who will be left standing who are in our late 60's and 70's, who will have to rebuild this country and my oath to The United States when I joined the Navy, became an officer, and swore again to uphold the USA and the Constitution will be my driving force. Collapsing back to the State governments to restart our country is what will have to be done. I pray it never comes to that but I see neither party with any real intent to make major changes to the entitlement programs and without those changes we will get to where Greece is now - except on steroids. When the entitlement progams come to a screeching halt, we had better be ready to eliminate those who will try to take from us what we have toiled, earned and prepared for. At that point in time the entitlement masses are anathema and the "needy" will become the dead.

I'm so glad you're willing to uphold your oath. We may need you to restore America. There will be a battle between the working people and those with the "entitlement" mentality. I guess the key is pray and be prepared for a battle.

Those who oppose gun control vs those who do not; simple answer

SALUTE! George Mc Murtry. That oath we took is sacred and there isn't an expiration date. Thanks for your "support"

Thank God for you and what you've done for our country. You may need to defend America again.  I definitely support and respect all who have served in our military.
