Does Mitt Romney really want to win the Presidency? He keeps showing up for Debate Club when this is Fight Club.   The first rule of fight club is not that you do not talk about fight club.  The first rule of fight club is that you win.

Does Mitt Romney really want to win?

Who knows?

But if Romney wants to win, he had better get on message quickly.  He had better learn messaging.

Here is messaging for Mitt.  I hope he is taking notes.

First, Barack Obama is not a nice guy.   Quit saying that.  No anti-American Marxist is a nice guy.   You say he is a nice guy and he says you are an uptight jerk, born with a silver spoon in your mouth and you want to see Americans fired, starved and have all of their rights stripped away.

What?

If you start with the premise that he is a nice guy, you lose.  The drive by media and Madison Avenue are working overtime to help Obama win the popularity contest.  You won’t.

But then again, you don’t need to.

Tip O’Neil said, “All politics is local,” and you do not get any more local than the individual American and his or her economic situation.

Quit saying that we are in economic recovery.  We are not.  This is the Great Obama Depression.  Make him own the economy.

You are not offering us a conservative alternative.  Your message is that you can manage the nation better.  First, your message sucks.  But if that is going to be your message, then you must make him own the Great Obama Depression.

That should be your talking point.  Every time you start talking about the economy, that should be your tagline.  If the economy is recovering, even slowly, what the hell are you offering us?

Right now, this is the Great Obama Depression.  If we calculated unemployment today, the way we did back in the first great depression, unemployment would be 17%.  One out of every two college graduates cannot even find a job.  The last time the Republicans controlled the government, 90% of college graduates found a job

This is not hard.  It only takes a little discipline and the willingness to fight.  Your big problem is that you have a serious case of “Member of the club syndrome.”

You treat Obama and the other Democrats as “members of the club.”  The club is of course, the governing class.   John McCain made that mistake, as did Bob Dole before him.   He will not show you the same courtesy so why do you?

This is Fight Club not Debate Club.  You have to be willing to throw some punches and take a few hits.  You may get a bloody nose and get some blood on your freshly laundered white shirt.

So what?  How badly do you want it?

John Kerry’s messaging in 2004 was, “We can do better.”  Actually he could not do better but that is about as uninspiring a message as you can get.

Since you are not going to offer us a Reagan alterative to liberalism, at least do your messaging correctly so you have a chance.

Republicans are amazingly bad on messaging and even by Republican standards your messaging is abysmal.

In 1976, Ronald Reagan began mocking Gerald Ford on Détente.   What had been a foreign policy triumph for Ford turned into such an albatross around his neck that Ford gave orders that his campaign not mention the word Détente.

This is simple.  Four words:  The Great Obama Depression.

If this is your message and you stay on it, people will vote their pocket books.  All you have to do is ask them, “Are you better off now, after almost 6 years of Democrat control of the Congress or were you better off when Republicans controlled government?  Are you better off now after four years of Obama or were you better off when the Republicans controlled the government.”

This is winning messaging.  It is simple.

This is messaging for Mitt.  The question for Mitt is, “Do you want to win?”

I agree! But we have a lot of Evangelicals who will stay home this November! It's important that they view Idaho Congressman Curtis Bower's "Agenda-Grinding America Down." This 93 minute documentary should be used by RNC. It provides a chilling look at the Obama plan if he is given another four years! Romney wasn't my first or even second choice. The way that Establishment "crammed him down" the party bases' throat is disgusting. But we can deal with the GOP Establishment in 2016. For now, we must not allow Obama another four years. Those who are angry have that right. But we must not "cut off our nose despite our face!" Please watch Congressman Bower's film. You will be impressed. And likely upset! You can find it online at www.agendadocumentary.com

Much wa said about JFK.  America would never elect a Catholic.

Brenda:

I remember with that being an issue with JFK but all worked out and the Pope did not take charge.

The republican party and many republican voters don't want to win. Romney was elected candidate by the party and primary voters chose to follow Romney. GOP has all it's sheep lined up for the slaughter.I will vote for Romney but will hols my nose as the odor will be tremendous strong. Romney is used to buying his way into things not fighting for them.

i hear you! My family just voted for Newt here in Or, early voting!! I can' get rid of the smell yet

Read all six (6) pages.  Lots of good advice.  Judson, you and your equals have to get a line into Romney and have a face to face.  Nothing less will get our message across.

That's not to say the rest of us shouldn't get into Romney's site and see if our whimpers are heard.

I studied religions and belief systems from 13 onward.  At the top of the spiritual totum pole we all come together.  Further down religions oppose each other.  It's not fair to call the DEMS and the REPUBS religions but for people who have no religious convictions, they are.  I don't think the Repubs want to sell out, if for no other reason that there's a large booty to be divided up by the winner, all those appointed posts, ambasadors, etc.  I think the high Repubs party people are greedy enough to want to win.

I don't know if Romney realizes a country isn't a corporation.  You can't run them both the same and you can't beat a politician by thinking like a CEO.  I'm not sure he can wheel and deal, get down in the dirt like Judson wants him to.

We can attain our Tea Party goals lots better, long run, if Romney wins, rather than Obama.  Think about what will happen if Obama wins.  It will almost come up to treason if any of us sit home and give Obama a vote by default.  You want to look at your face and know you committed treason.  That is the degree of conviction Romney needs to lay on everybody.  Practice seeing it that way.

ps  don't forget to get ABSENTEE BALLOTS for the elderly in your circle come NOV

Rove is just trying to cover his butt, hedging his bets, whatever.

We are better than that.

Let's do what we know works in our own lives, leave the lesser lights to their own misery and play the hand we're dealt the best we can.

Rove started this mess along witth our friends at Fox and now their rep is going to go down the drain. Hannity said why are people voting for Robme is hes going to lose.

You can also guarantee yourself that Mitt has surrounded himself with Mormon political advisers, you know, the only one's he would trust.

Consider this - and feel free to tell me where I go wrong:

The only thing Romney has in common with Dole and McCain is the GOP thinking that they all will go along to get along.

I see Romney as a totally different breed of cat for the following reasons:

He built his own career success independent of family, political and military ties, dove in headfirst to government service in a  state that favors rich Dems rather than Reps, and is, for the second time, staking his own fortune on winning the White House.

I do not think the GOP establishment has a clue that this time, they've got a tiger by tail.

We, too, have put in a lot more raw courage into this subject than the pundits and should be having more fun proving the joke's on them instead of US!

C Brooks:

Deceitfulness always brings people to this end !   We have got to decide to live by the "Law or By The Rule of Man" !

The Founders were "Educated Men" they knew government and had studied All Governments (throughout the world) they knew what had crumbled Rome, Greece, etc. This arrogant bunch in  Washington, DC want to act like "They are the Origin of All Knowledge and thery could not shine Thomas Jefferson and James Madison's shoes" !

Ron

Our forefathers not only told us what to do, but instructed us how it is to be done! We need to spill some Patriot Blood to purify our nation once again! Mitt will not do it, and NONE of the Party Boys on the hill will either!! No longer can we stay asleep at the wheel!

I personally will do what I must, THIS HAS TO BE STOPPED!
