Liberals and Democrats for a Republican candidate

When liberals and Democrats come out for a Republican candidate, there are a couple of possibilities.  First this candidate could be the second coming of George Washington.  A more likely scenario is that he is the worst of all possibilities.   A more likely scenario is that he is the same kind of politician we have seen for the last few decades that has gotten this nation into the trouble it is in.

Who is this politician who liberals and Democrats love and is he good or a disaster of biblical proportions?

His name is David Dewhurst.  He is the Lieutenant Governor of Texas and he is currently fighting a really great candidate, Ted Cruz, to be the Republican nominee for the Senate seat being vacated by Kay Bailey Hutchison. 

Dewhurst is a RINO who has been going to the great RINO watering hole, Washington, to keep his campaign going.

Dewhurst has been to Washington repeatedly, where PACs and lobbyists have given him over a half million dollars.  Gee, I wonder why.

According to the Washington Examiner, last year the lobbying firm, the Podesta Group threw a big fundraiser for Dewhurst in their Washington townhouse.   The Podesta group is a powerful Democrat lobbying firm run by the brothers John and Tony Podesta.  John Podesta was one of Bill Clinton’s chief’s of staff.  He was also on the Obama-Biden transition team.  He is the Chair of the Center for American Progress, a far left think tank.

Why the hell are major Democrat lobbyists throwing a fundraiser for a Republican Senate candidate?  There is only one, very obvious answer. 

Look at David Dewhurst’s backers and you will see a laundry list of those who benefit from continued massive government spending.  If they are backing Dewhurst with money, what does that say?  Does anyone believe they would be backing him if they believed Dewhurst would vote for massive spending cuts?

The American Hospital Association backs Dewhurst.  You remember them.  They were such ardent supporters of Obamacare, they filed an amicus brief with the Supreme Court urging Obamacare be declared Constitutional.   Other Obamacare supporters contributing to Dewhurst include the American Medical Association, Pfizer and Glaxosmithkline. 

Since one of the first orders of business for a new Republican Majority Senate in 2013 is going to be the vote to repeal Obamacare, do you think these groups would be supporting Dewhurst with their money if they believed Dewhurst is a vote to repeal Obamacare? 

Other groups that have contributed to Dewhurst include mortgage groups that benefited from the 2008-09 bailouts. 

Why do you think they are supporting Dewhurst?  Do you think it would be because they know he is a solid vote for another bailout?

Does anyone doubt that David Dewhurst would be a vote for more of the same in Washington?   Does anyone doubt that if David Dewhurst, who the Austin Chronicle called “weird, spooky and rich,” would be another crossover RINO?  Does anyone believe that David Dewhurst would vote against the hands that feed him and put him in Washington?

There is a huge battle in Texas between the establishment, led by Dewhurst, who got us into the problems we face today and the Tea Party, which has no leaders but supports Ted Cruz.

So if Democrats and liberals are supporting David Dewhurst against Ted Cruz, what do you think the chances of David Dewhurst being a small government conservative are?
