When you look for the liberal moron of the week it is hard to make a decision. It is not because it is hard to find liberal morons. It is hard because there are so many of them.
But now, there is one who is this week’s clear winner.
Who is it?
His name is Thomas Walker and he is an English Professor at Iowa State University. At ISU, the College Republicans decided to hold a drive to collect items to send to our troops in Afghanistan.
I read in Tuesday's Iowa State Daily that the College Republicans have begun collecting sundries for U.S. soldiers serving in Afghanistan and Iraq. Why? Doesn't the U.S. Army victual its soldiers? Don't their families send them yuletide goodies? Aren't GIs paid enough to buy what they need, and even what they want?
"As Republicans we believe in charity," stated Jeremy Freeman, a member of the College Republicans. Donating toiletries, boxed and canned foods, socks and beanies to U.S. soldiers who can already deodorize themselves, who eat better than the poorest Americans and who are gallantly garbed, is an eleemosynary travesty.
Necessities should be doled out to people who really need them and who might get them if not for the hundreds of billions of dollars being funneled to the Pentagon in the greatest squandering of money on the planet. If anything, Republicans should sympathize with veterans struggling to find employment, a challenge that may daunt the discharged soldier, who might wish he had reenlisted. Soldiers are to Republicans as fetuses are to them: prized. But once out of the womb-like army, Republican solicitude for hapless veterans goes where extracted zygotes go.
"We get to show the troops we still appreciate what they're doing for us," said another College Republican. What are they doing for us? Nothing. But against us they're doing a lot: creating anti-American terrorists in the countries they occupy. Said the same College Republican, "It can't be fun to be away from your family for the holidays. As if American soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan had been conscripted? They chose to leave home.
Why do Republicans care so much about the military? Because the military-industrial complex is dear to their simplistic laissez-faire fantasies: a bottom-line patriotism that excludes the people at the bottom.
Thomas Walker has the constitutional right to be an idiot. That is a right he seems to exercise on a regular basis. If he wants to be a moron and let everyone know it, he has that right. If he wants to publish his moronic opinions, he is welcome to.
However, the taxpayers of Iowa pay his salary and I bet they are tired of bozos like him who are supposed to be educators, but all too often end up being indoctrinators.
Here is a simple idea. Eliminate his job. He probably has tenure, so he cannot be fired. But his job can be eliminated. If this buffoon outrages the people of Iowa then they should all call their Legislators on Monday and tell them when the Iowa Legislature meets in January and starts working on a budget, there is one position in the Iowa State University English Department that needs to be eliminated.
Perhaps someone should remind Walker of the oft-repeated expression, “It is better to keep your mouth shut and be thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.
Walker has removed all doubt.
And he works at Iowa State University. He is too stupid to be employed by that University and should be fired or end his tenure. What a dork.
We oughta empeach em. Empeach em all. They never done us no good.
It might not be a bad idea to publish a "moron of the week", they're not hard to find.
If there's one "common denominator" among liberals it's their insensitive, even calloused feeling toward other people.
They will do anything to save a lizard while at the same time support the murder of babies.
They don't appreciate another person putting their own life and future in jeopardy so their stupidity can continue.
Most say thank you as a matter of protocol rather than heart felt gratitude.
It wouldn't be a problem to "stigmatize/stereotype" the Democrats as the "party of morons".
They'll supply the evidence, all we have to do is publish it.
The education system and the news media has been contaminated with liberal idealogs. Thats why 40% of the voters still support Obama. To change things around would mean firing 90% of the educators and the news people. Thank God for the internet where people can share the truth and form their own opinions.
Us Americans suffer from this delusion that America is about us, for us. it is not. That the people we elect are looking out for the best interest of us and the well being of our country, They are not. All the idiousy that is going on with our country is in somebody's best interest, just not ours.
Can or will anybody out there identify who or what is responsible so we can begin to do something that would actually be in our best interest.
Mr. Walker has indeed revealed his I.Q. In fact, based on his reference to "Military-Industrial complex" reveals that he is still living in the 60's. The dangerous part of his existence is that he is enjoying the safety of his "college campus ivory tower" while teaching the same drivel that he believes in, TO OUR CHILDREN! (training a new crop of occupiers)
All due respect:FU Thomas Walker .He is you typical college marxist profesor. He is the enemy within.I pay him no mind.He is just someone I have to wipe from my shoe once in a while. The college Republicans and other great supporters of our troops are big enough to handle this communist.Taxpayers are fed up.He and his retread libtard cronies will get their due.
The irony is that we spend trillions and precious blood in the middle east to no real clear policy objective yet "arab spring" has over turned the middle east by social media. The grunt work was done by our military and king Hussein comes in to take credit. We have gone off course since Zero became president. The middle east now will be dominated by the muslim brotherhood with our vets discarded and military slashed with Obamas blessing.
The next president has a heavy burden with the middle east(pray it is not Ron Paul!).The forces that we are against are islamo-nazi's and liberalism. Two forces polar opposite yet commited to destroying America. We can win.First step is to get the Kenyan out.
It's s***heads like him that need to be with out employment , just so they can appreciate what the unemployed are going through....the thoughtless bastard ...get rid of the position and zap....he's history...
William: He is counting on the pension that he will received as an unemployment check. At least $200,000 a year and probably $100,000 for all the speeches he will be giving.
Well it's nice enough to give things to our soldiers but I have to agree that my money will go to hungry people.
I believe Mr. Walker is a liberal moron and for him to be on the payroll of ANY university is the real eleemosynary travesty. Unfortunately, our universities are full of overeducated soporific boors who love the sound of their own voice and only get aroused when reading what they have just written.
My thoughts exactly. The problem is that most of these people parrot exactly the philosopy with which they were indoctrinated in our government schools...to look down their noses at those whose sacrifices for this nation allow us to sleep peaceably in our beds at night. Hey, maybe ISU could trade Mr. Walker to Afghanistan for a professor of their choosing, one whose head is not inserted so far up his backside that he can see the tofu and sprouts he ate for lunch. What a heartless bastard!! As an austerity and a humanitarian measure, ISU should definitely eliminate his position.
