We could call liberals hypocrites but that would only be an understatement. Stephen King is your typical liberal and typical hypocrite.
In an obscenity laced and poorly written tirade in the Daily Beast, he is whining that he is not paying more taxes.
Conservatives point out that the members of the ultra rich left, like Stephen King can pay more taxes if they want. Oh, they hate that point.
Too bad. The truth hurts, sort of like having a massive tub of pig blood dropped on you. Perhaps Stephen King should work on his next bad novel instead of telling us how to run America.
Perhaps Stephen King would like to sponsor the next GSA convention in Las Vegas. He could even bring in Columbian prostitutes for the GSA and it would not even have to be on the taxpayer’s dime.
As with almost everything that comes from the left, what King says is a lie. Higher tax rates are not about higher taxes. History has proven repeatedly that if you cut taxes, you spur economic growth and more revenue comes into the Treasury.
Higher tax rates are about the rich pulling the ladder up after them and not letting anyone else join the club. Stephen King does not have to worry about his wealth. He has already made it.
The guy he has to worry about is the next struggling writer who will write the blockbuster that will push his book off of the bestseller list. He is worried about the next novelist who will become super rich. When you tax income at confiscatory rates, people are not able to accrue wealth the way Stephen King has.
It would be great to see Stephen King’s tax returns. I’m willing to go out on a limb and make a few guesses. I bet he has a legion of accountants who work on his taxes and I bet they do everything in their power to minimize his tax liability. I’m willing to bet he deducted everything he could to reduce his taxable income. I’m also willing to bet he would not release his tax return because it would show that.
In other words, Stephen King does not care what the tax rate is. He really cares about how much he really pays.
Honestly I am tired of liberal hacks like him.
There are hundreds of billions of dollars in identified waste in government spending. Why the hell should I, or anyone else, rich or poor pay another dime in taxes while that kind of waste is going on?
The GSA can blow a million dollars on a massive party in Las Vegas. Why the hell should I or any other taxpayer have to pay for that?
Here is a message for Stephen King. If you want to pay more in taxes, move to California. California’s taxes are almost at the confiscatory rates that you desire. Move there.
If you really believe what you say, write the government a check. Give the government all of your money. That might pay for another Obama vacation.
But let’s remember one thing. Your ideas have been wrong every time they have been tried. I wouldn’t listen to a doctor or a lawyer who was wrong every time so why should anyone listen to a hack writer who is consistently wrong.
Every time.

Permalink Reply by Debrajoe Smith-Beatty on April 30, 2012 at 9:36am I keep hearing "Your Fair Share", by the Chief Con Artist Obama. There is no need for the increase in taxes. All the goverment does is increase taxes and spend more. I suggest that we cut the budget, of course there is no budget, just tax and throw the money away. Poor Harry Judas Reid, can't manage to get his act together long enough to do a budget: fire the SOB for lack of performance.
VERT TRUE I HAVE NEVER READ A STEVEN KING BOOK NOR DO I HAVE ONE IN MY LIBRARY.I have known he has been a liberal for years I do read Tom Clancy he is not a liberal I know him personally while in radio we did the grandopening with Tom Clancey at the senator theater in Towson Maryland and he could not answer any questions before the movie his book are Non fiction but he calls them fiction. You know these guys talk about paying higher taxes, why don't they just do it?? Why keep talking and why a law before they pay?? If they want to help the US just mark on your tax return saying gift to the US treasury and let it go. Pay them extra, give them the money. Or mark it for the reduction of the debt and see what happens!!! As long as it doesn't line the pocket of the crook in the white house!!!

Permalink Reply by DocTurtle on April 30, 2012 at 10:34am I was just wondering...
What do you suppose would happen if the next time a bill comes up to "increase taxes on the rich", the Republicans all remained in the Present but Not Voting column?
The Democrats would certainly "own" the as yet unrealized (but predicted) effects such a measure would cause... and they couldn't say they weren't warned.
Given the way the Democrats have presented the issue to the American populace, and after hearing the Republican rebuttal, in nearly all the polls it looks like a majority of Americans tend to agree with the Democrats on this issue (as an Independent I personally don't).
Most of those people who can afford to pay $35,000 for a plate in the room where President Obama is eating, are the very ones who'll be seeing the tax increases.
All the Republicans would have to do is batten down the hatches, and wait for the ensuing storm to pass over. I've got a hunch when the sky cleared, Progressive Democrats in Washington would be an endangered species.
Of course time's running out to make such an offering, as the November elections are just around the corner. If the negative effects began showing up before November, a Progressive wouldn't hardly be able to land a dog-catching job...
If the Republicans made a big deal out of it, the Democrats might even have trouble finding enough Democratic votes to pass such a bill... Just a few thoughts.
Permalink Reply by John S Bacsenko IV on April 30, 2012 at 1:06pm Sounds fine and dandy but we must be realistic here. We do need to get to a point where candidates such as Mr Goode can seriously challenge big money campaigns. We are not there yet. DC needs a 'political enema' before we are able to send honest people there. If we try and jump from point A to point G, we could do more harm than good. One step at a time EL.
Mind you as well, put this same reply in every blog you see and you'll just annoy people and turn them off to Mr Goode.....play it smooth EL.
