What is it about conservatives? Do we always want to lose? We have the best ideas so why can’t conservatives step up to the plate and fight when it is time to fight? Why is it conservatives always think they are showing up for debate club when it is time to show up for fight club?
We are in the worst economy since the Great Depression. When the Republicans last controlled, the House, Senate and the White House, unemployment was at 4.6%. Now it is at 8.2%, if you believe the White House, which has the same credibility as the National Enquirer.
We keep hearing this bovine scatology from the Obama Regime about the jobs they have saved and jobs created. All that is in reality is a good case of what lawyers call “MSU.”
Makin’ stuff up.
What we have here is the Great Obama Depression.
If unemployment figures were calculated the way they were back in the days of the First Great Depression, unemployment would be at 14 or 15%. There would be massive rallies in the streets demanding that Obama resign.
Instead the Obama Regime cooks the books.
A few months ago, Debbie Wasserman Schultz said the Democrats would own the economy.
In the words of Star Trek’s Captain Jean Luc Picard, “Make it so.”
We need to stand up and fight and we can simply do that by making them own the economy. The left is very good at messaging. Messaging really is not that hard when you have a good message and we do.
We need to start referring to this economic disaster, not as a downturn or a recession. We need to start calling it what it is: The Great Obama Depression.
If you call into a talk show, call it the Great Obama Depression. On your Facebook page, talk about the Great Obama Depression. If you write a letter to the editor, use the term the Great Obama Depression.
Tell your friends to start using that term. We can make the Democrats own this economic disaster. We must make them own it.
The drive by media is going to give Obama a pass. We cannot.
In 1976, Gerald Ford was running for reelection. He made his Détente with the Soviet Union a centerpiece of his campaign. Ronald Reagan seized upon that and used messaging to make Détente synonymous with surrender. Before the primary campaign was over, Ford had ordered his campaign not to mention Détente at all.
We can do the same thing. This one is even easier.
This is the Great Obama Depression. Everything he has done has been to extend the Great Obama Depression and make it worse.
Mitt Romney and the GOP leadership will not call this the Great Obama Depression. As they do too often, they are showing up for debate club while Obama and the Democrats are showing up for fight club.
But this is the first time Republicans will have to run with the Tea Party and we don’t take orders very well.
Republicans have this strange idea that if they go out and fight with Marques of Queensberry rules against the Democrats who fight like street fighters, some how they will win points for politeness and style and prevail on that basis.
During the War for Independence, the British complained that Americans would not stand out in a line and fight like the Europeans fought. Instead we used guerilla tactics, which destroyed the British Army. We would not fight by their rules. Why the Republicans insist on fighting this war using rules that favor the Party of Treason is simply a mystery.
Let’s go out there and remind everyone, this is the Great Obama Depression.

Permalink Reply by Larry Cumbie on June 5, 2012 at 7:25am Lack of leadership is the root cause. I've said this before. Conservatives have a great, inspiring message to promote and it's not about the Tea Party or its principles. The US can lead the world out of the coming world-wide economic downturn, and its not by redistributing income or a world tax. But we need a leader to broadcast that message. It could be Romney but will he do it? It won't be the RINOS. They're too busy compromising on raising the debt ceiling. Depression? Hell, Yes!
Permalink Reply by Bruce Baker on June 5, 2012 at 7:27am When ever you see a post about someone complaining about Republicans ... post back .. DEMOCRATS HAVE BEEN IN CONTROL OF CONGRESS SINCE 2007.
Seriously ... the spin and media blitz to "blame Bush" and 'blame republicans" has hypnotized enough people with the propaganda .. it is time ... time to counter the propaganda and spin with the facts. YOUR DEMOCRATS DID THIS TO YOU and they try to blame republicans for their failure.
Hell .. they are still doing it since Democrats control the Senate and the Presidency they can over-ride or hide with procedure any bill or policy brought up by the House that is a Republican Majority. THEM IS THE FACTS! POST THEM!

Obama and his Democrat congress own the Great Obama Depression!
Permalink Reply by Debrajoe Smith-Beatty on June 5, 2012 at 7:27am Let's start voting out all Rino's. Let's send a loud message to the elected one's.

Permalink Reply by Lizzie on June 5, 2012 at 9:36am Thanks Chas. I don't mind general-purpose swearing, or people blowing off steam! But it's not political commentary if you're slamming people (i.e., women's anatomy should not be an insult!) outside of their political alignment. Saw a racist comment the other day and it really bothered me, but I was afraid I'd sound like a whiner. Next time I'll say something. :-)

Permalink Reply by James Flowers on June 5, 2012 at 8:35am I'd disagree in general about your suggestion that Social Conservatives have a tendency to favor big government.
Social conservatives prefer that the government NOT do the jobs of families, churches, community.
The big social issues
Abortion -- it is the limitation of government that Social Conservatives want. Roe v/ Wade was a big government (activist judges) action which is compounded by big government support of abortion clinics, planned parenthood, sex education, Obamacare mandates, etc.
Gay Marriage -- Mass., California, etc. (Activist judges) were over reach of big government, which is compounded by big government regulations and impositions on Religious freedoms. Marriage amendments, defining marriage as between a man and a woman, are necessary "evils" that are needed to prevent the compounding of bigger government that same-sex advocates will impose. If social conservatives had their preference, such amendments would not be needed.
For most Social Conservatives, we struggle for the day before the above mentioned government over-reaches, when big government wasn't involved in the social issues.
