  Did you know this about bats?

From the newsletter  "The Texas Gardener Seeds" the following message is reported:


Put up a bat house to encourage the presence of these shy animals. Bats consume 3,000 or more mosquitoes and other insects nightly, and bats are less likely to be rabid than dogs are.

Need another reason?
Bats are responsible for up to 95 percent of the seed dispersal essential to the regeneration of forests.

Our planet is populated with plenty of bizarre and astonishing creatures.

So, 2 out of 3 Bats have a useful purpose!

If we could just train him to eat mosquitoes... Or do anything useful...

Years ago when I lived in the woods we always had bat houses up in the trees, they are extremely useful for mosquito control.  The last one must be some useless kenyan strain, giving bats a bad name.

2000 Election, 30,000 Dead voters,  67% Republican and 33% Democrat.  Both parties would have had to acknowldge crime and would not use the figures.

With a bat house, is it steam heated, or just smelly and requires cleaning.
