Tomorrow there will be a special election in Buffalo New York to fill the term of Chris Lee. Under ordinary circumstance, this election would hardly be news.
This race is news because of Faux Tea Party candidate Jack Davis.
Jane Corwin is the conservative Republican who should be winning this race. But thanks to Faux Tea Party Candidate, Jane Corwin is trailing the liberal Democrat in the race.
If you know anyone in the Buffalo New York area, call them and ask them to vote for Jane Corwin. Right now, the polls show Corwin trailing by a few points. Every vote counts as the Faux Tea Party candidate is polling at around 12%, taking votes away from Jane Corwin.
This is not the first dirty trick we have seen the left pull. No matter what happens in the election there are lessons that we need to learn.
Remember, the left will do anything to steal an election. We must be prepared to fight for each election. We must also be prepared for the fraud we are going to see. In November 2010, Southern California was the test bed for leftist voter fraud. According to TPN sources, various liberal groups that specialize in vote fraud were test marketing new techniques.
If you live in an area where there is going to be a competitive Senate, Gubernatorial or Congressional race, your Tea Party group needs to act now. If your group does not know how to fight voter registration fraud in your community, you need to learn now. True the Vote is a great group that does just this.
If your group does not have an effective media relations panel, you need one. Messaging is crucially important. Many people will go to the polls in Buffalo tomorrow and vote for Jack Davis, believing that they are voting for a Tea Party Conservative when in reality they are voting for a very liberal Democrat.
Your local Republican and Democratic parties have candidate recruitment committees? Does your Tea Party Group?
Does your Tea Party group have a Karl Rove? Mention the name Karl Rove and you get a very powerful and negative reaction from most Tea Party supporters. You can say what ever you want to about Karl Rove; he is a very good political strategist. He put George W. Bush in the White House twice. There are fewer men (and woman) alive today that have put a man in the White House than have walked on the moon. Candidates do not get elected by themselves. They need a team and you need to have people in your Tea Party Group that can help get candidates elected.
If your group has not had an election school, you need to have one. Candidates need campaign managers, finance managers, social media managers, volunteer managers and other support people. If your Tea Party group does not have a list of these types of people and has not had training for this, you need to do that ASAP.
The lessons we are learning from NY-26 are lessons we need to put into effect now, so we do not see a whole series of NY-26’s next year.

OK, so is there a list floating around out there of RINO republicans running for the House of Representatives in 2012? I'd like to be knowledgeable of them. I'm already aware of the Snowe/Lugar's on the Senate side, but what about the House side? Anyone know?

Permalink Reply by Finnegan's Wakeup on May 23, 2011 at 3:17pm As a western New Yorker, I would have to say that it is more complicated than that. I would not suggest voting for Jack Davis, but he has never been called a liberal by anyone around here that I know. More like a very independent loose cannon who follows his own beliefs.
But I don't think Corwin would be having such a bad time anyway if she were more palatable to true conservatives. Everyone I know is voting against Hochul, not FOR one of their own. Not one person I have talked to actually likes Corwin -- and that is what let Davis in the door.
I still think Corwin will win because people in the polling booth will, at the final moment, think of Hochul and pull the lever most likely to keep her out. But I think the national press is misunderstanding why we are in this mess.

Permalink Reply by Judyann Joyner on May 23, 2011 at 4:18pm Who would have imagined two years ago, a problem would arise with the Left trying to steal our "brand" to get on of their guys elected? But that is exactly what has evolved in NY26.
We need to develop some kind of an official "brand" or stamp of approval to prevent frauduent candidates AND fraudulent Tea Party groups for that matter, from misrepresenting themselves. I'm not exactly sure how to accomplish this. It will need to be some sort of emblem which can not be used without permission from the (real) TPP.
Permalink Reply by Carol G on May 23, 2011 at 5:51pm Judyann: I think that those of us in the Tea Party (particularly the TP local leaders) need to get to know the candidates from their respective areas. We need to meet with them regularly regarding the issues, find out who they've been hanging out with, what sort of groups do they or have they been involved in, etc. And if we're not convinced that he or she is a true conservative, let people know. If they're running for a statewide position, contact the other TP leaders in your state and have them get the word out to their membership. If it's a national position, same goes only bigger!
And as Judson has suggested, we will need to get involved in the Voting process -- work the polls, audit registrations, observe the counting of votes, etc.
Go for it!!! Good luck!!!
