I don't know if you have seen the latest from Lamar (RINO-TN). He wants Obamacare incrementally, instead of all at once. Earth to Lamar, Obama care is bad, whether we get it all at once or a little at a time.

In 2008, Lamar came through, campaigning on how conservative he is. Even a few weeks ago, he was at the Republican Party's Statesman day dinner in Nashville, talking about how conservative he is. I, for one, am tired of being lied to.

When we elect these clowns, they get a 6 year, no cut contract. I say it is time to put a cut provision into their contracts. I think TPN should set it as a goal and a mission to get recall provisions put into law in all 50 states. That way, when we have someone like Lamar, who goes totally off the reservation, we can do something.

Who is with me?

Doesn't Britain have something called "no confidence" which prompts another election?

I'd support a recall for these double-speak spineless talk-out-of-both-sides-of their mouths!
In Britain, the parlement can vote no confidence in the leadership and that causes an election. I think we need to give the power back to we the people.
If you look at the Federalist papers, our founding fathers were not in favor of term limits. They realized, correctly, that once someone was in their last term, they had no incentive to follow the will of the people. I think we can get recall provisions enacted in the states.
A coworker and i tossed this around several yeas back. We came up with That any one individual could only spend 12 years in government, in any combination of offices. Six terms in the house, two in the senate, three as president. Or one senate and 3 congressional terms, one senate one house and one presidential term, etc. after completeing these, or being voted out, one would be prohibited from being part of any lobbying firm, or holding any position in a company that would put them in direct dealings with the Gov't
Dave, I believe the Peoples Resolution is an excellent idea. Coupled with the townhall style referendum it would be very powerful.

Americans have gotten a taste of a power they had forgotten they had through these townhalls.

I believe many would be motivated to research and educate themselves on the records of these representatives just in hopes of being heard and respected.

If a representatives record and his constituents opinion of it is recorded on video and perhaps aired on television or Youtube, it becomes virtually undeniable.

Just ask Obama/Van Jones.

Great idea Dave.
I'd love to see the Senate limited to two two-year terms. This six year term is for the birds! Would this require a Constitutional Amendment?
I believe that we have RINO's like Alexander because we, the electorate have been horrendously lazy and slovenly in our selection of representation! Why bother to look at the guy's record, or stand on positions. Or positions on both sides of issues?

It has seemed to be too much trouble. "He's the Republican, I'm a Republican so I'll vote for him." Or, similarly, inject the term "Blue Dog... or whatever you think you believe in, and think he believes in.

Sorry, folks, it is not that simple! We each have to take the time, expend the effort to support the best man for the job!

Or, we deserve what we get!
I agree wholeheartedly!
We need at least 2 additional strong parties on the left! I might support a Green Party and even a Socialist Party push, thereby using Alinsky Tactics. How about a Union Party? ACORN Party? The more the merrier!

Splitting the right led a while back, however, gave 8% of the vote to Ross Perot, thereby electing Bill Clinton. Splitting the right in 2012 may well give Obama a second term.

Ralph Nader for President!
I continue to have a problem with the idea of a two term (or one or three...) simply because:
1. It would create a high percentage of "lame ducks", those who feel that they have no reason to at all to follow the voter's will, and therefore lose that guiding principle.
and,
2. It would prematurely end the service of the occasional great legislator - They do exist, you know! I am reminded of the old axiom of throwing out the baby with the bathwater.

Judson's suggestion of a recall provision or mechanism could be far more effective, and provide a method of removal in mid-term, at the discretion of the electorate. Exactly what mechanism would or could be used to initiate such a vote would have to be developed.

Such a mechanism could only be developed, I suppose, at the state level. No circumstances that I can imagine would cause Congress to participate willfully in their potential demise.

The parliamentary "Motion of no confidence" is somewhat related, but really is not the same thing. It permits the removal of an unpopular government from within the government itself: hence it is political by it's very nature.
I certainly am. I am sick and tired of all these politicans left or right. It seems to there are very few who stand for the people. They only care about staying in power. Well guess what we are the ones with the POWER. Throw them all out,if you have never been involved in your government before WAKE UP before its all gone.
The best thing that may have come from electing the Obamamessiah is the people are realy riled up and mad and I believe are going to take it out on the politicians in the next election. Our mission is to fight the drive by media and keep our friends and neighbors really angry until next november.
Keeping the people riled up for a year or so seems likely. Ending the media love-fest with Obama and the far-left congress seems less likely; makes for a more up-hill battle next cycle.

Minimizing the permanent damage to our country during the next year or so must be our present focus! Call and write your senators and congressman often. Protests of all kinds must continue! We must minimize the damage!
