If you want to know why a conservative agenda has been bottled up in the House of Representatives, there is one simple answer. If you want to know why Obamacare has not been repealed, there is one simple answer. If you want to know why Obamacare has not even been defunded, there is one simple answer. If you want to know why spending is higher under a Republican Congress than when Nancy Pelosi controlled the House of Representatives, there is one simple answer.
What is it?
It is John Boehner.
Boehner appeared on Greta Van Susteren’s show last night and he made it very clear, he is the problem.
From Real Clear Politics:
Boehner commented on Paul Ryan’s selection as the Republican Vice Presidential nominee. He said:
I mean, I think that he's a practical conservative. He's got a very conservative voting record, but he's not a knuckle-dragger, all right? He understood that TARP, while none of us wanted to do it, if we were going to save -- save our economy, save the world economy, it had to happen. I wish we didn't have to do it, either, but he understood that.
One of the reasons conservatism is not on the attack is because those who are leading in Congress, namely John Boehner, is a big government Republican.
Boehner clearly views conservatives and the Tea Party with contempt. After all, we are only knuckle draggers.
Perhaps John Boehner should buy a clue.
It is we “knuckle draggers” that put him in the Speaker’s chair. We tried it his way in 2006 and 2008.
What were those results?
The Republicans had their heads handed to them. They were put on the political endangered species list.
If it were not for us knuckle draggers, Boehner would still be toiling away as the minority leader of a small minority.
Those of us who are “knuckle draggers” as John boy likes to call us realize something he does not.
The current fiscal path of this nation is unsustainable. We understand that liberty and freedom must be fought for and we understand that big government is the antithesis of liberty and freedom.
Insulting your base is not a great way to maintain control of Congress.
Most Tea Party people are uniting behind Romney and Ryan. Our short-term goals are to get Obama out of office and put Harry Reid far from any position of authority.
But after January, these issues will be revisited.
The Tea Party movement as born as real American pushed back against the Obama, Pelosi, Reid axis of fiscal evil. We asked for change and instead we got John Boehner’s freshly laundered white flag of surrender.
Either Boehner starts understanding what the people want or he may find the people demanding that we have a new Speaker.
If we forgive John Boehner and back him as speaker at anytime in the future
we don't deserve to call ourselves Conservatives.
HE WILL NEVER CHANGE
DON"T TRUST HIM - TODAY - TOMORROW - EVER ! ! !
This zebra is not going to change his "stripes". He doesn't "get it"---just get rid of him! He has already done us far more harm than he'll ever do good!
Great points, Judson. It all comes to those two special words: Term Limits. Speaker Boehner, you have had your turn. Please pass that gavel (which you only borrowed) to the next Republican chosen by your colleagues.
Fair enough! His good opinion is worth no more than his opinion is worth... not a whole lot.
Boehner is th same Republican who led the ethics investigation that got Newt Gingrich removed as Speaker. This is not a tiger who will change his stripes. The Tea Party needs to get behind someone that will beat Boehner and not become a "hands off republicans" movement. Boehner and all the establishment GOP leadership must go just as much as the "progressives" must go.
Excellent analysis, Judson!
Whiner Boehner was, is, and always will be a big government, big spending, liberal.
He must be replaced and soon. Steve King would be an excellent speaker. How does the "Knuckle dragging" Tea Party go about demoting Boehner in 2013? Make no mistake, we will be the majority in the House!
Knuckle Dragger, Phil
I nominate Trey Gowdy and Mike Kelly for speaker.
I have been saying from day one that Boehner was a liberal using conservatives. He should be hung just like the rest of traitors.
OK Judson, just who do you know that has not ALREADY demanded a new Speaker?
As a fellow 'Knuckle Dragger' and proud of it, I now realize that we have to do as The Great One aka Mark Levin has said and that is "Replace the Weeper of the House" with Wisc.'s Scott Walker." I hope Mr. Levin explains how this is done, tonight, and sets it in place to start with step one, NOW, TODAY!
I am sooo sick of having to sit back, as my Country is being destroyed, and all anybody ever says is "Wait until the next election!" This has been going on since 2008 and America is almost finished!
I know that all this stupid logic has done, is give the Socialists more time to put their agenda in place, to destroy US.
Believe me, I have this sick feeling that b. o. plans on never leaving Our White House, even when he looses!
GOD HELP US!
Col. West would be a GREAT choice!!! Or Sect'y of Def. or Homeland Security!!!
