June 17 is a very interesting day in history. On June 17, 1775, the Battle of Bunker Hill was fought. On June 17, 1972, some of Richard Nixon’s men were caught burglarizing the Democratic Party Headquarters in the Watergate building in Washington. And a little over half a century ago, Mr. and Mrs. Phillips welcomed a bouncing baby boy into the world.
Okay, maybe only two of the three really qualify as historic events.
Today I celebrate that yearly ritual of my birthday. Later today, my family is going to give me some presents and I’m going to eat too much. But I already have my first present of the day.
Tea Party Nation.
Put simply, I am the luckiest man alive. Rush Limbaugh on his radio show likes to say he is doing what he was born to do. I can say the same thing. Lou Gehrig said, under less happy circumstances, “I am the luckiest man alive.” I can say the same thing under happier circumstances.
Tea Party Nation began with an idea. The idea even predated the Tea Party movement. The idea was simple. Have a place where conservatives could meet and not be hassled because they are conservative. I wanted a “Home for Conservatives.”
Tea Party Nation exists because of all of the wonderful people who stop by to visit. Some even take the time to contribute their words. Others share the words that are written on Tea Party Nation.
Of men, I am most fortunate, but I would not be here without you. As I celebrate today, I want to take a moment to thank each and every one of you who are members of Tea Party Nation.
Tea Party Nation has given me something. The ability to do something I totally love and hopefully make a difference. Oddly enough, if it were not for the Obama regime, this might not have happened.
For many Americans, the same opportunity now exists.
Every really successful person says the same thing. Do what you love. If you do what you love, everything else will fall into place.
Many of us have been displaced by the Obama economy and are asking what can we do? Rush Limbaugh said something very profound yesterday. “What if we decided not to participate in the recession?”
Some might interpret his comment as a glib joke. It isn’t. He was serious and so am I. The great majority of Americans are trapped, doing things they do not want to do. I can speak from personal experience, having spent some time doing some things I did not want to do.
The first thing every morning, I get up early to work on Tea Party Nation. I don’t drag out of bed say “crud, I HAVE to do this.” I jump out of bed every morning, often very early, so I can work on Tea Party Nation.
In a couple of hours, a local TV station is going to interview me for a news program. My wife said, “on your birthday?” Yes. Because I love what I am doing and it does not seem like work.
Today, I want to thank each of you who has made this possible and my sincerest wish is that each of you find the same kind of joy and passion I have found with Tea Party Nation.

Permalink Reply by Katie Kalpin on June 17, 2011 at 4:34pm Happy Birthday! I hope you had a great one full of happiness! I can't thank YOU enough for what you have given us. This is a great place to come when things are getting out of Control. Everyday I look forward to another Tea Party Nation E-mail. It helps us ALL to know that there are so many of us out there. It seemed that there weren't many and that we were very lonely in these ideas! but as soon as you came into our lives...we all found that we have others! The unity is wonderful, we may argue on subjects but that just brings us closer and teaches us different things. We are a strong and VERY smart group of people that love the USA and we want our Constitution BACK...NOW!! You have brought us all together and it is nice to have our own place! You have shared a gift with us that God gave to you, again I can't thank YOU enough for all of this! You add humor and truth and you make this fun! I feel free again lol...I feel free to express my feelings on matters here without people getting offended...THAT ROCKS!! :) I hate to say it...but Patriot action is not as tolerent as you are here. It is easier to have a good laugh here than on their site. I am a member of both as well as the 9/12 project! I can't get enough lol. But you have made this site so much fun and so educational! THANK YOU!!
BTW: Any birth of a true Patriot...is historical! ;) So Happy birthday and thank God for your Parents! :)

Permalink Reply by Marcia Wood on June 17, 2011 at 5:19pm Happy Birthday Judson and many more.
As you know Judson, I'm doing a little project that I just love, get up early in the morning, jog 2 miles, listen to Charles Stanley for a few minutes on the radio and then start investigating the Liberal News for the day. Sometimes, I make a real home run, other times probably just made it to first base, but by exposing the Liberal News Media daily it is starting to make a difference. I'm getting emails and comments like "Thank you - I really didn't know that, " and then I get some I can't repeat, but I giggle about those because at least they're reading my commentaries.
I really like your comment that Rush made, "what if we decided not to participate in the recession?" How true, if we but get busy "taking our Country back" one little piece at a time; we really won't have time for a recession. May God Bless all of my TPN friends and a special welcome to those just joining our team.
