It was the worst form of de je vu.

The headline on Drudge read: SHOWDOWN: Boehner demands spending cuts for any debt limit increase...

Wait, where have we seen that before?  That’s right it was a year ago.  John Boehner announced there must be spending cuts if we were going to raise the debt ceiling.

How did that work out for us?

Let’s see, the debt ceiling went up by over $2 trillion dollars.   Our per capita debt now exceeds that of Greece, which is committing slow motion economic suicide. And our spending last year?  Oh, that went up by 3%.

Does Boehner really believe we are that stupid?

Now Boehner says we may need some short-term increases in the debt limit.

No, what we need is long-term leadership; something John Boehner is singularly incapable of delivering.

In 2006 and 2008, the Republican Party listened to people like John Boehner, who believe in Republican big government.  What happened?

The Republicans were slaughtered at the polls.  The American people were sick of them.  Then in 2010, the Tea Party came along.  If it were not for the Tea Party, John Boehner would be the minority leader of such a small minority; they might not even be able to field a softball team.

The Tea Party rolled in demanding fiscal responsibility.  John Boehner just wanted another drink.

Boehner was selected as Speaker for one reason.  Seniority.  The Republicans have a seniority system that would make any union shop green with envy.

Unfortunately we need leaders who know how to lead, not just mark time in a job until the next one opens up.

John Boehner has been an unmitigated disaster as Speaker.  The only thing he does well is haul up his freshly laundered white flag of surrender.

In 1997, House Republicans led a coup against then Speaker Newt Gingrich.  One of those leading that coup was John Boehner.

It is time for the Republicans of 2012 to lead a coup against John Boehner.  Boehner has proven repeatedly he is not a leader.  He will not fight against the Democrats.  He will not fight against Harry Reid or Barack Obama.  He gives lip service to reducing the national debt but will not fight for it.

In short, he is somewhat less than worthless.

Those of us in the Tea Party movement did not spend our time, effort and money to get Nancy Pelosi out of the Speaker’s chair just so someone who spends money like a drunken Democrat could replace her.

Eric Cantor is the number two Republican in the House.  He has caught a lot of flack recently, and deservedly so, for some of the efforts he has led.

Whatever his flaws are, he could not be any worse that John “Unilateral surrender” Boehner.

Boehner just said that lawmakers should not dread another fight over raising the debt ceiling.  Democrats should not.  They know Boehner will simply give them everything they want.  Republicans should be in absolute, wet your pants terror at the thought of Boehner leading them into another major legislative battle.

We the people put our faith in the Republican Party to help save America from the Obama, Pelosi, Reid axis of fiscal evil.

It is time to start throwing out those who will not cut spending and help pull America away from a Greek like economic apocalypse.

For the Republicans who may be squeamish at the idea of throwing Boehner out of the Speaker’s chair, I have two words for you:  Richard Lugar.

You can act or we the people will.

Here is Bloomberg’s report on Boehner.

Right On Kristin; I agree!  She'd be dynamite

Kristin:

Michele would do a great job.

Ron

Bachmann needs a lot of help right now. I just sent her a sizable donation. They have gerrymandered her district even curving it around her personal residence to do away with her district and force her to run in another district against fellow Rep. & a very strong DemocRAT. I hope many of you will help her out also.

Edward:

The Reprobates in Washington, Deceipt...just never quit trying to destroy Michele Bachmann & Sarah Palin.

What these scum do not know is that Michele & Sarah belong to the "Sanctified" and nothing they can do will destroy those two !

WONDERFUL!

Not Cantor! He's as bad as Boehner. Steve King and Paul Ryan would be good choices; people of their calibre.

We don't get to replace him - ONLY the HOUSE members vote for their leader.

...and most are as wimpy as him

Yes and we don't have to support those that are in favor of keeping him in anyway. So in  the end it we who replace him.

They do not need Senior citizen in the congress, they need a true conservative leader. John Boehner must Go.

Whoa!   Boehner is hardly a 'senior'. I am 72; I AM A SENIOR!!! Please don't compare him to my age group!!

All 435 US Reps. are up for re-election in November. It'll be up to the voters in his district to decide if he goes back to DC ... AND it'll be up to Congress if they decide Boehner deserves another term ...IF the Republicans keep the House.

I believe Ohio just had it's primary; nothing mentioned about a Republican Primary involving Boehner & another candidate.

If Boehner wins in November let's hope the House has the intelligence to name someone else...ANYONE else ...to the leadership.
