John Boehner is the Republican Speaker of the House of Representatives. Is he now about to lead Democrats? How is this possible? What is going on in the House of Representatives?
It is possible. In fact, it is happening.
Back in November, the House of Representatives considered a so-called “Mini-bus” bill. This was the appropriations bill that would fund three sectors of the Federal Government and keep the rest of it open until December 16, when an “Omnibus” bill could be passed. When the vote came up, 101 Republicans defected from the GOP leadership and voted against the massive spending bill.
Many of the conservative Republicans have gotten the message. What sent them to Washington and moved them into power in the House of Representatives was a specific mandate from the American people. We have a spending problem and the American People told Washington in no uncertain terms in 2010, that we wanted the spending brought under control.
Unfortunately, the Republican Leadership did not get the message. John Boehner does not want to see any real spending cuts and is certainly is not willing to fight for anything.
So what does a RINO do when real Republicans listen to the American people? You get support from Democrats.
Democrats love the spending that is in the bill. They want to see government continue to grow. So they are thrilled to vote for the bill.
Real Republicans want just a few things that make a lot of sense. We want Obamacare defunded. We think that slashing funding to the EPA, whose primary mission in the Obama regime is killing jobs, is a really good idea. We think slashing funding to the NLRB, which seems equally focused on killing jobs, is a really good idea. We think eliminating aid for Pakistan is a really good idea.
John Boehner thinks surrender is a good idea.
So the omnibus spending bill that will be passed in the next couple of weeks is going to have none of those things in there. It will not defund Obamacare, nor will it slash spending, well anywhere. It will not eliminate aid for Pakistan.
In short, the bill is a bill that could have been produced with Nancy Pelosi sitting in the Speaker’s chair.
It is election season. All of those Freshmen Republicans that we swept into office in 2010 are coming up for reelection.
We, the Tea Party, who made the Republican victory possible, need to start telling all of our Republican Congressmen and the Republican candidates for the House of Representatives that John Boehner is no longer acceptable as the Speaker of the House.
When the Republicans go back to Congress in 2013, with a larger majority, we need a Tea Party Speaker of the House. We need a Speaker who is willing to stand up and fight to bring about significant spending cuts, and advance a conservative agenda.
There are any number of conservative congressmen who would be great choices for this job. Anyone but John Boehner.

Permalink Reply by Chuck Lowery on December 1, 2011 at 6:55am How about Michele Bachman for speaker?
Permalink Reply by Robert Koch on December 1, 2011 at 7:17am Michele would make a great speaker, I pray for a miracle that she is the nominee for president.About six of my relitives who supported Crie baby boehner, are hoping for another candidate because they are determined to vote against him next time.
I agree that Michelle would be a great Speaker. She would make an even better President.
But the problem with making her Speaker is that unless Boehner is defeated, either in the primary or the general election, that seat is his. If we are to get Boehner out of the Speaker's Chair, then we must defeat him at the polls.
I'm not at all enthusiastic about the guy who is running against Boehner, in the primary, since he is a single-issue candidate and could therefore be easily subverted to vote against other conservative issues. In fact, it's the first time that I have ever supported a single-issue candidate - even those whose single issue was one that I strongly supported. It's just that as dangerous and unpredictable on other issues, as a single-issue candidate is, Boehner, being Speaker, is even more dangerous.
If a more diverse conservative doesn't emerge soon, then I'll be supporting David Lewis for the Ohio Congressional District 8 seat. I doubt that he has much of a chance. But if enough conservatives will donate to his campaign, we can make it close enough to put a healthy fear to the TEA Party into Boehner. And, who knows. We might actually defeat him.
In fact, if Boehner survives the primary, I'm prepared to donate to any general election opponent that he may have. After all, giving up one seat in a Congress that is going to be even more strongly held by Republicans in 2012, is a very small price to pay, to send a resounding message to EVERY RINO in Congress that NO SEAT IS SAFE for a RINO.
The Speaker's Chair is Boehner's till either 1) he is defeated at the polls or 2) the House Changes hands and that's just a fact of life. I vote for option 1.

John, whats the latest on the bill that is supposed to give the President power to arrest anyone, including American Citizens, he deems a threat? I hear it gives him the ability to use the armed forces at his discretion.

Permalink Reply by Jean C. Mair on December 1, 2011 at 7:06am The bill supporting the president to be able to order the arrest of anyone, even legal American citizens, is up for vote today. I've called my stupid congress rep. repeatedly but I still think Adam K. will vote to ok on this bill as he is a turncoat.
Boehner showed as soon as he took the seat as Speaker, his white flag in hand, that he was a turncoat to the Tea Party/Republican beliefs.
Permalink Reply by Edward Frankele on December 1, 2011 at 7:25am It really doesn’t matter whether they are Democrat, Republican, or some other idiotic political party. It all comes down to; HOW THEY READ and INTERPRET THE CONSTITUTION!!
Remember, most of our politicians do not read or do not understand American History, or the intent of the Founders when they wrote the Constitution.
Permalink Reply by Rich Knoch on December 1, 2011 at 7:18am Michele Bachmann should be the next House Speaker - - - we know she's a Constitutional Conservative who will rally the troops - - - - Spending 99.9% of our budget problem!
