While much of Middle America got socked yesterday with a nice winter storm, regrettably, Washington did not get hit with a blizzard. What we really wanted was a three-week blizzard.
Unfortunately, the weather did not cooperate with us so that band of miscreants we call the Congress is back in session this week. And once again, we must fight.
This week the Senate will take up the tax cut extension. The media is already trying to spin this as the “Obama tax cuts.” Memo to the propaganda ministry, err, I mean the drive by media: Obama does not want to cut anyone’s taxes. Extending the Bush tax cuts is not a tax cut. It is maintaining the status quo.
We need to call our Senators and Congressmen again this week. Extending the Bush tax cuts is a great thing and should be done. They should be made permanent. But the Bush tax cuts should not be tied to anything else. We need to tell the GOP to stand firm. Obama wants to hook another massive spending spree on the extension. American cannot afford any more of Obama’s spending.
We also need to tell our Senators and Congressmen to oppose the continuing resolution that will fund the federal budget until September. Included in this bill, according to Senator Tom Coburn of Oklahoma, is the funding for Obama care. This is a deal breaker. The congress can fund the government until early January, and then let the new congress pass a budget for the year. Time is on our side. The question is, are the Republicans?
The liberals sent out an email this past week, saying they only lacked three votes to get Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell repealed. The groups pushing this repeal are the same groups that want to weaken the military and make it ineffective. If this would really help our military be strong, do you think these anti-military groups would be supporting this?
The DREAM Act is allegedly dead. But until congress finally leaves, we cannot be certain. Defeated RINO Robert Bennett (Idiot-UT) says the GOP is already planning to introduce its own version of the DREAM Act in the next congress. We need to kill this now and make certain the GOP understands the American people do not want this.
Finally, the “Food Safety Modernization Act” is still out there. The liberals are trying to play hide the ball and stick this in yet another bill. We have to kill this monstrosity.
Again, the good news is time is on our side. If we can get the Republicans to show some backbone (yes, this could be our Christmas miracle), we can get congress to leave town without doing any more damage.
Call your Senators and Congressmen. Fax and email them. Give them no rest until they are out of town.
All we want for Christmas this year is for the lame duck congress to go home, having done no more damage.

I urge you to rethink your position. The Progressives that have captured the Democrat Party would love for the "Tea Party" to form a third party. They know, as does anyone that studied USA history since the Republican Party was formed, that such an event would destroy our Tea Party movement. Surely the Tea Party can capture the Republican Party the same way that the Progressives captured the Democrat Party. It took them 100+ years to do so. We have been at it less that 3+ years. Patience and tenacity will win the day for us.

Permalink Reply by Robert L. Voelsing Sr. on December 13, 2010 at 2:37pm Dear Alex, I agree,,patience & stick-to-it-ness (tenacity) will win over the cause. Nikita Khrushchev once told an American Commerce Sec. that "We will NOT have to take you by force,,we will get your children& grandchildren" It is apparently coming true,,thanks to the PRO-Left,,the Liberal MSM,,BHO & his Czars,,,,BUT,,,,,BUT,,,,it also includes the WEALTHY members of the groups that want to 'rule' us,,such as the Bildeburgers,,the Tri-Lateral Comm.,,& the Coun. on Foreign Relations. These groups include some famous Republicans ,,such as the Bush family. Also the Rockefellers +the Clintons So,,In my opinion,,it will come down to the PRO-Left trying to remove our rights & make us like Europe & Asia,,,VERSUS,,Conservative Patriots ,,,like us,,trying to RETAIN our basic Constitutional rights. I believe it is coming soon.
So,,,let us do it the way 'they' are trying to do it against us,,slow & steady pressure will WIN.

etal., also keep an eye on Black Liberation Theologists taking over part of our Religions
Permalink Reply by Nancy Foster on December 13, 2010 at 4:45pm I think that you have the correct idea. We cannot fall for the direction the progressives want us to take.
Permalink Reply by Dave3200 on December 13, 2010 at 10:23am Yes, Roselyn, I fully agree with Alex. The TP movement needs to continue what brought us here. We must maintain our focus on influencing our elected officials (regardless of Party) to adopt our value system. As the strength of our movement continues to increase, the Party elites will become less significant. Ultimately, control of our government will return to the people. If we can control ourselves and persevere, the day will come when our elected officials accept the fact they are there to represent our interests, not their own.
We must hang tough and stay our course, Roselyn.
Permalink Reply by Terry Martin on December 13, 2010 at 10:29am The Tea Party needs to take over the Republican party and then we need to encourage the left to split apart. Where is Ralph Nader when we need him?
Permalink Reply by Annette McHugh on December 13, 2010 at 10:06pm Third parties: BEEN THERE. DONE THAT. MULTIPLE TIMES. It ain't gonna happen. We're making progress in cleaning up the GOP right now. It took us 215 years to get to where we are right now.....we're not going to fix everything overnight.....if we stay the course though, we could do it in about 20 years.

Permalink Reply by Judson Phillips on December 13, 2010 at 10:19am Right now, we need to pressure the Senate. With the filibuster, every bill can be killed. And that would be a good thing.
