We really need to move the Statue of Liberty out of New York City. It is time for the symbol of freedom to be moved to a more appropriate place. It is time to figure out how to get it out of New York and moved some place else.
Why?
Because freedom is pretty much dead in New York City.
King Michael the First has decided that New Yorkers are too fat. So he is going to ban large sugary drinks.
Really?
New York City is pretty much a disaster and this is what he is worried about?
Let’s ignore the epic fail of liberalism in the Big Apple for a moment and just stick with the basics. The basics here are freedom!
If I want to drink sugary drinks, knowing what the consequences are, that is my decision. If I want to be fat, that is my decision. If I want to do the work it takes to be thin and in shape, again that is my decision. I do not need the nanny state or King Michael telling me what to do.
King Michael and the nanny state socialists are doing this because it is for our own good. Aren’t those the words tyrants use every time? We are taking your liberty and your freedom because it is for your own good.
At a press conference, King Michael’s words could have been taken from any number of tyrants of the past. He said, “I think that’s what the public wants the mayor to do.”
Really?
I suspect most New Yorkers if asked want a lot of things and banning soft drinks isn’t on the list.
I bet if King Michael asked, I bet the average New Yorker would tell King Michael he wants his taxes reduced.
I bet if King Michael asked, most New Yorkers would like to have something done about the out of control crime. I bet a fair number of them would like King Michael to quit making war on their second amendment rights.
I bet there are a whole lot of things New Yorkers would rather King Michael be doing other than telling New Yorkers what they can or cannot drink.
While sugary drinks are a small issue, remember the people such as King Michael who are pushing this are the same people that also want to repeal parts of the Constitution as well. If King Michael had his way, none of us would be allowed to own firearms to defend ourselves. Ask Britain how well that has worked out for them. If King Michael had his way, there would be prohibitions on hate speech. Of course for the left, hate speech is defined as anything a conservative says.
Liberty continues to be eroded in this nation and unfortunately too many people sit on the sidelines and watch it sail away. Back when many of us were children, this was a free nation. Some parts of it still are. Unfortunately, New York City is no longer a part of the land of the free.
It’s time to find a new home for the Statute of Liberty. Freedom is dying rapidly in New York City.

Permalink Reply by Thomas Angle on May 31, 2012 at 7:40am The sad part about New York is that the people that voted idiots like that in are moving out and screwing up other states. I fear they are going to screw some good southern states. I f I was you all down there, I would run those Yankees back home before they screw up your state.
As far as the statue goes. No need to move it. Sooner or later New York will be like Detroit. We will be able to but at scrap prices already disassembled.

When I moved from NYC to Nassau County in the 1960 Nassau was healthy and Republican. Then the wave of NYC Liberals started moving in: There went the neighborhood. I used to tell my Liberal acquaintances: You ruined NYC so that you had to leave and now you're doing the same thing out here.
I moved rural when I retired but still have ties on Long Island. I tell people that I have to go back to NY every couple of months just so that I don't forget why I got the hell out.
Permalink Reply by Thomas Angle on May 31, 2012 at 7:57am To be fair, it is not just NY, it is every city. I seen it here in rural Ohio. City folk buy some land in farm country. The next thing you know they complaining about vehicle noise, manure smell, etc ... Then come lawsuits and such. All the while the people that where here doing what they do for years put up with it.
I totally agree. Freedom is not dead in just NYC but, every city in this country. Perhaps in the world. I'm beginning to believe that true freedom is no more.

Permalink Reply by Linny Redd on June 1, 2012 at 2:26am You have the right idea! Freedom is never FREE, it has to be won again and again
because there is always a few who want to take it away so they can RULE you.

By August of 2011 she brought suit against her neighbor - the corn in his field was blocking her view. She lost the lawsuit but no one here could believe the whole thing wasn't simply dismissed from the onset.

Permalink Reply by Jack Roth on May 31, 2012 at 8:00am The real problem that should be removed from New York is Michael Bloomberg. How the people of New York (I myself being an ex-New Yorker) ever let this clown buy his way back in and usurp the term limit law is beyond me. But then again California has done the same. Why do people think that another term will change a failure's stripes? But isn't that what Obama supporters are hoping for? Don't send me home, Thomas. I'm a Yankee by birth but a Southerner by choice.
