In early 2009, the Tea Party movement spilled into the streets with one simple message.
STOP THE SPENDING.
When the House, the Senate and the White House were all controlled by the Democrats, we were ignored. That was not a big surprise.
But then 2010 came and we swept Nancy Pelosi out of the Speaker’s chair and put a Republican majority in the House. And we had high hopes. The GOP initially promised $100 billion in spending cuts from this year’s budget. That quickly dwindled to only $32 billion, but when the Tea Party expressed its strong displeasure, it shot up to $61 billion, even though that number is not guaranteed when the House and Senate start negotiating.
We tried to do it the easy way, now we will have to do it the hard way. In a little over a month, the government will hit its debt limit. The government, which currently borrows forty cents of every dollar it spends, will not be able to borrow any more unless the debt ceiling is raised.
We are hearing nightmarish stories of what will happen if the debt ceiling is not raised. Most of this is coming from the left. Here is the question. We are already borrowing 100% of GDP. When are we going to stop borrowing? Will it be when we get to 125% of GDP? How about 150% of GDP? 200% of GDP or will it be when the economy collapses, which is what Obama ultimately wants.
The answer is, we need to stop now. If the debt ceiling is not raised, the government cannot spend. This is not the easiest way to do this, but it is what we must do.
Over the next month, this needs to be the most important Tea Party issue. We all remember the enthusiasm we brought to this movement two years ago. Much of that steam seems to have faded out. The massive rallies of two years ago are a thing of the past. But we need to raise that kind of enthusiasm again to stop this train wreck.
In order to stop this insanity, our lawmakers are going to have to hear from us. We have two shots at stopping this. The first is in the House. The GOP has a clear majority, although John Boehner has said he favors raising the debt limit. We need 218 members of congress to step in and say no. If 218 Representatives will vote against raising the debt ceiling, then in the immortal words of Dr. McCoy from Star Trek, “its dead, Jim.”
The second shot is in the Senate. With forty-seven Republican senators, we only need forty for a filibuster. We need to work on not only conservative senators but also those up for reelection in 2012.
The strategy is simple. We must start calling, faxing and emailing our Senators and Congressmen. We need to call and email every day for the next month. If you can fax everyday, that is good too. They must get the message.
If the debt ceiling is raised, the pressure Congress feels to cut the budget will dissipate. We need to make them act, while we still have an economy for them to act on.

giving up is the liberal way out my patriot. You are stronger than that. I know I have felt this way so often that it hurts, there are times where I have to walk away from these blogs and just cry, there are times where I look into the heavens and tell the founding fathers that we have tried but we aren't able to help America. Then I just scream from time to time....but in the end I just refuse to give up! Stay strong, you are not alone as you can see. Just keep your chin up...it is people like you how are out there making this go away.
Like Judson stated, the were down into the 3's untill the Tea Party spoke up..and they moved it uo to the 6's...OK not what we wanted...but dude..we got to them enough so that they had to raise it...the more we do the more they raise it. They fear us...trust me...in the end you'll be one happy Patriot! I feel ya, teust me I do. ;)

Buck up man! This is not the time to be a defeatist. We all know what we're up against but it is not in us to have come this far and just say, I quit. Good God, it's only been 2 years! This is going to take decades.
Trust me I have been harping the end of the world as much as the next guy but that is ONLY if we have a complete collapse and don't do anything. The TEA Party has just begun the long and arduous fight we all know it will take. We all discussed this "lull" and have anticipated it. The last 2 years were brutal and exhausting, we deserve a short break. But a break is all we get.
Here is the link to Congress for numbers, fax, e-mails, and addresses.
http://www.contactingthecongress.org/
Remember, for any State information, Governor, Legislature, etc. all you need to do is type in the desired state name followed by .gov
ex. Michigan.gov
Program as many of your frequently used numbers in your cell phone so you can always call regardless of your location.
Time to dust off our pens, pencils, faxes, e-mail's, cell phones and get our voices ready just like we did in the past. Our effort will have to be ten times as determined in the next 609 days. Then we will all be able to proudly use our strongest weapon against the Liberal Progressive socialist machine,,,,,our vote!

I am 64 and became a District Director for the Fairtax over 12 years ago! If you give up after just two years, then maybe you don't have the faith needed to understand--this is NOT about US. It is about the principles that made this the greatest country in the world. Even if this country got somewhat back to its roots, Freedom is definitely never free, and that is no empty slogan. I have been working like a Trojan for the Fairtax, working to correct lies, distortions, and naysayers for a full 12 years. You know what? We are stronger than ever and have 55 supporters in congress in just the first two months of a 24-month congressional session. We should have well over 100 nearing the end of 2012.
Consider this: Just when do you think the downfall of America began? It began the day the country's foundation began. Let that sink in, everyone. Just sit quietly and really think about that. Mankind NEVER will reach a level of perfection that the progressives, NWO whores, Labor Unions or Islamofascists aim for because man will never be perfect. This country had a glorious beginning, but it was not perfect. It was just the best that the world has seen, because it was modeled on the very Judeo-Christian concepts that man in not and never will be perfect. It was modeled on the concept that there is a God, He is a loving and good God, and that he wants us to be free and to follow His Commandments. The reason our Constitution was written with checks and balances, and with a Preamble declaring that "We the People" were the true owners of the govt. and not visa-versa, was because our Founders knew that man is inherently in his nature flawed. Our Constitution was meant to prevent abuses caused by governing bodies due to those flaws. But even from the beginning, our country had battles over limited government. We slowly, as a people, became complacent, then unwatchful, then more and more willing to abandon our own individual principles for rest from our insecurities, for peace, false security, false prosperity, the pleasure principles, and ever-growing debt in our own lives. Slowly, we allowed our govt. to rule us. In 1913, when prosperity reigned (supposedly), the 16th and 17th Amendments were passed, the Income tax was fraudulantly passed, and the Federal Reserve was created. Look at what FDR did later, before and after WW2! Then along came Johnson and destroyed the black family & increased horrid new tax burdens. This happened because of a lot of things, but mostly it was because people flung their hands up and abandoned their principles. The left expects us do do as we have done in the past and not be like our founders, who had intensely-held core beliefs and principles. We have to be those refounders all over again.
I am not really trying to be preachy, despite how I sound, but if we are to WIN this fight, we all need to know what we are really fighting for and that it is for something much, much more than our puny little selves. It is for the very concept of freedom and goodness in this world. Even if we "win" this battle with the left and Obama and all the other dark forces, they will always be among us. Knowing that, we can take heart that there are so many with us, and our numbers are growing by the day. Look at Michelle Bachman and her bravery, or Scott Walker out there fighting the thugs every day. We are legion and they want us to feel small. We are many and they want us to feel weak. We have grown stronger and they want to make us feel marginalized and insult us with their media every day. But it hasn't stopped us. We can never give up or be weary. Refresh ourselves with our small victories and build on what we have accomplished. That's all I've got by way of encouragement. This is a battle some of us have been fighting for most of our lives, just know that. Here's a tool for everyone that may make it easier to track and have more effect on our congress: http://www.votility.com/ It's not much, but everyone can save the link to use to track legislation. Now keep your chin up, buddy. Everyone has days like this, but we can never give into despair. Christianity and the Bible keep me steady and at peace. Others have other means of achieving the same thing. Just remember, it's not the outcome, its the effort. We will sometimes lose, but we will never stop!
