Just when you thought Republicans would have learned, one of the dumbest members of the Senate has done it again.
Lindsay Graham has said he and Chuck Schumer (Marxist-NY) are working on comprehensive immigration reform. Translation, amnesty.
We have played this game before. In 1986, Reagan agreed to a “one-time” amnesty for about two million illegals. By the time it was all done, the total was about double that. The trade off we were supposed to get for this deal was border security.
Twenty-five years later, we are still waiting for border security.
If we go along with this clownish plan, we will see over twenty million new legal residents of this country and the border will still not be sealed.
Does anyone have any real confidence that the government will seal the border? As a practical matter, what about these new residents?
From an economic point of view, an illegal has value in the sense that he (or she) can be paid less than the prevailing wage, can be paid in cash so that there is no expense for workers comp or taxes and can be fired easily if they become a problem. They are willing to put up with that so they can be here.
What happens after amnesty?
After amnesty, the illegals no longer have to fear deportation. Suddenly, they are no longer cheap labor but would be labor paid at the going rate. What will their value be? What will an employer hire at that point?
Most of the illegals here now do not have a college education. They do not have a high school education. They don’t even have a middle school education. Public schools in Mexico only go to the sixth grade. Most of these illegals do not even have that. What jobs are they going to hold in this country?
The simple truth is, the only job most of them can handle is some form of labor. Either construction or working as a busboy or working in lawn care. When their going rate is the same as an American, whom do you think the employer will hire?
That is going to leave a permanent underclass that will be offered welfare and become dependent on welfare. Of course, that is the liberal plan. They want to get these people into this country, make them dependent on these benefits and then they become permanent liberal voters.
Which gets us back to Lindsay Graham. Why do the people of South Carolina keep reelecting this nitwit? Does South Carolina have a recall statute? If not, the people of South Carolina should push to have one enacted and make Lindsey Graham the first victim.
In the meantime, we are going to have to be on the phone to our Senators and Congressmen. Once again, we have to tell them, no amnesty. Not now. Not ever.

Permalink Reply by NoCrud on February 7, 2011 at 8:04pm What kind of man is Chuck Schumer? He's the man who went to the Philippines when Marcos was deposed to monitor the elections. Why did he go? To make sure the elections were honest. And everyone bought it.
It sure seems that there are a lot of foolish Americans in this country, doesn't it???

Permalink Reply by Ted Pearson on February 8, 2011 at 6:53am Unfortunately N.O.W. has evolved into a Liberal/Socialist tool using gender to push their ideology. In fact, if they were really interested in helping women, they would be speaking out against Muslim values.

Permalink Reply by tom dodd on February 7, 2011 at 9:04pm ...not all of us, but we, and I include myself, definitely weren't paying attention. Naive may be a better classification. Those on the Left who honestly think socialism is a better form of government, and aren't just in it for the handouts, have never been anywhere but "here", so they don't know what the real world is all about...
...for myself, I believed, naively, that even through there was graft in the political process, I believed that every one, including democrats, believed in America, and wouldn't go out of their way to do damage to our country. I've since learned otherwise...
