George Washington is probably the greatest American who has lived. He helped found and mold this country and as he left office, he gave some great advice to his countrymen.
What was it and should we now be following it?
Washington advised America to avoid foreign entanglements. America traditionally avoided foreign entanglements but in the last century, the number of international organizations we joined grew astronomically.
The most famous or infamous international organization we joined is the United Nations.
Now, an American controversy is ending up in front of the United Nations and it opens the question, why the hell do we even belong to this group?
The NAACP is seeking the right to commit vote fraud and now wants the United Nations Commission on Human Rights to rule that requiring a voter ID is an infringement of human rights.
Only a group as nutty as the NAACP could come up with the argument that because they cannot stuff ballot boxes, their rights are being violated.
What is more appalling is that because we are members of the United Nations, this matter will be heard by the UN Commission on Human Rights.
The UN Commission on Human Rights? Really.
We are going to be judged by Communist China and Communist Cuba? We are going to be judged by Saudi Arabia, which not only does not allow women to vote but also beheads people for “sorcery?”
You are freaking kidding me.
Here is a better idea. Let’s tell the United Nations, you have thirty minutes to get the hell out of the United States.
Seriously what benefit do we get from the United Nations? The majority of UN nations hate America. They routinely insult us. They routinely work against freedom and then they expect us to foot the bill for this. We pay billions a year to the United Nations and other international groups such as the International Monetary Fund.
Why?
Let’s simply tell the United Nations to go do something that is anatomically impossible.
Why do we go through the pretense that nations like North Korea and Iran are civilized nations and should be treated as the equals of say the United States or Australia?
It defies logic that we give nations that still practice female circumcision, make women wear glorified garbage bags or stone people to death the same status we give the world’s greatest democracies.
It is time for America to say enough is enough.
We need a President who will tell the United Nations to go to hell and take Kim Jong Un with it. We need a President who will tell them their lease on some prime real estate in New York is now voided and every UN diplomat now has their diplomatic immunity revoked.
It is time to kick them to the curb and it is time for us to start paying attention to the words of George Washington.
Washington was right on a lot of issues. He was right on this one too.

Two things, One we need to be out of the United Nations, Two the United Nations needs to be out of the United States of America.

Permalink Reply by USARogue on March 14, 2012 at 9:20pm Ahhh yes Judson, the U.N. (Useless Notions). The benevolent arbiters of such little scandals as "oil-for-food". The world will never realize the breadth and scope of that "humanitarian" act. Rwanda was a global insult to the U.N. and any nation on the planet. You would think that the international community would have been outraged when the Bush administration began "discreetly" posting hundreds of documents on the Web in 2006 exposing the criminal activities in the U.N.
My contention has been to give the U.N. an ultimatum. As the major funding nation we will decide the officers of the General Assembly, Secretariat, Security Council and the World Court. If not, goodbye. The U.S. out of the U.N. and then the U.N. out of the U.S.
We've got enough homegrown criminal politicians we don't need the world dropping their trash off here to insult and demand from us.
I've been preaching this for years....Kick them all out.....Sell off their limo's for their parking/traffic tickets..they owe.. and besides Nobody likes us anyway who belongs to it.

Permalink Reply by Justin Buell on March 14, 2012 at 9:06pm Yeah, the guy who predicted the financial crises while Republicans were running up deficits and consistently fought for Constitutional government is a broken clock who's only right twice a day.
You can lead a Conservative to small government, but they'll just make it bigger.
Permalink Reply by Clarence E. DeBarrows on March 15, 2012 at 12:28pm The fact is Ron Paul would be good at handling our money, but a total disaster at issues involving foreign involvement. You know, the area of intrigue that George Washington told us to staty out of.
Permalink Reply by Doug Nicholson on March 15, 2012 at 1:24pm Let's at least be fair here. Ron Paul wants exactly what Washington espoused, no foreign entanglements unless authorized by Congress.
