If you are a liberal politician, you should walk around with a flashing neon sign that announces to the world, “I am an idiot.” For Chuck Schumer, his sign should read, “I am an absolute moron!”
Clowns like Chuck Schumer and Bob Casey have no idea of the concept of liberty. They also act more like Czars of the old Soviet Union than Americans.
Recently, one of the founders of Facebook renounced his American citizenship. He was a naturalized citizen, but the reason was taxes. As Facebook has its IPO, Eduardo Saverin will come into about $4 billion dollars. Saverin has this radical idea that his money, the fruits of his labors, should be his and should not be confiscated by some raging idiot like Chuck Schumer, Bob Casey or Barack Obama who could not even run a lemonade stand.
So the Party of Treason is trying to strike back.
From ABC News:
Sen. Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., has a status update for Facebook co-founder Eduardo Saverin: Stop attempting to dodge your taxes by renouncing your U.S. citizenship or never come to back to the U.S. again.
In September 2011, Saverin relinquished his U.S. citizenship before the company announced its planned initial public offering of stock, which will debut this week. The move was likely a financial one, as he owns an estimated 4 percent of Facebook and stands to make $4 billion when the company goes public. Saverin would reap the benefit of tax savings by becoming a permanent resident of Singapore, which levies no capital gains taxes.
At a news conference this morning, Sens. Schumer and Bob Casey, D-Pa., will unveil the “Ex-PATRIOT” – “Expatriation Prevention by Abolishing Tax-Related Incentives for Offshore Tenancy” – Act to respond directly to Saverin’s move, which they dub a “scheme” that would “help him duck up to $67 million in taxes.”
The senators will call Saverin’s move an “outrage” and will outline their plan to re-impose taxes on expatriates like Saverin even after they flee the United States and take up residence in a foreign country. Their proposal would also impose a mandatory 30 percent tax on the capital gains of anybody who renounces their U.S. citizenship.
America was once a place where we encouraged people to come and invest their wealth so we could grow. Now it is home to fools like Chuck Schumer who cannot seem to fathom the idea that we work hard and believe we should keep what we earn and not give it to the government.
Casey is up for reelection this year and hopefully the voters of Pennsylvania will put him out to pasture and let him try to make an honest living instead of living off of the taxpayers.
While Schumer and Casey blather on, as we have to contemplate two people who should not even be allowed to decide what is for dinner, we should all remember they are proof of the old truism that with politicians, we really are governed by our inferiors.

Permalink Reply by John S Bacsenko IV on May 17, 2012 at 6:20pm Probably more like a soggy dream to them Julia. The more they push idiocy like this, the more I realize the acquisition of money and taxes is not a goal them. Their goal seems to be no more than seeing how many people they can make dance on a string to their tune. Seems to me is all about power over money.
It's just like this......UNLIMITED POWER
Permalink Reply by Juls on May 18, 2012 at 7:43am They love that money coming in though. Don't forget they think of it as rightfully theirs. Several years ago Colorado voters passed the TABOR Amendment basically saying the state could not raise taxes without a vote of the people. Upon hearing of its passage, one state representative remarked: If we can't raise taxes then we might as well all go home.

LOL, Juls! That right there is just the thing this particular blog post is about, isn't it! Typical liberal goofball statement! I'd like to know the name of the bonehead liberal who made that statement so we can add an annex to Judson's post and name it "Liberal Idiots Caught with Foot in Mouth" and build a master list of all the lunacy they speak! After, we can present such a list to the loyal democrat voters as food for thought.
Permalink Reply by Debrajoe Smith-Beatty on May 17, 2012 at 5:07pm The government likes to spend money. They think they can tax us all to death. The truth is that many people are leaving the USA because of the government and taxes.
Permalink Reply by Richard Wohltmann on May 17, 2012 at 5:13pm We have to change the current liberal media dialogue that too many people are getting sucked into. Casey and Schumer and those like him are trying to frame this in terms of "paying their fair share." The fact is, it's the government trying to steal as much money as they can from those that have earned it. Our "fair share" is a sucker's cliche that the liberal media has been feeding us for a long time. Now they have us looking around at who should be paying more. We should ALL be paying LESS and that is where we should be focused.
Isn't this the same thing people from all over Europe, and their families did after the American Rev. They fled to the new America that had less taxes and less government? And look what we grew into, mmmmmmmmm?
Hey, Chuckyou Schumer, how about loosening the fiscal garrotte you've placed around America's neck?!! Maybe more people would be interested in staying here to make America a better place! As it is we're bleeding capital, knowhow, entrepreneurial spirit and innovative thinkers, all escaping to hidden corners of the world. Their light, which shone brightly here in the Land of Opportunity, could well be hidden forever.
Lousy socialists - a pox on them!!!

Permalink Reply by henry knox on May 17, 2012 at 6:13pm Maybe the Senate should consider why people that start businesses and create jobs would want to leave this country? People like Schumer are the type that take a nation from one that has to build fences to keep people out to one that has to build fences to keep them in. Fences can be physical, financial or emotional.

Permalink Reply by Roc29 on May 17, 2012 at 8:16pm Years ago I heard a radio interview with a member of the Swedish Parliament. He said that under a conservative government they had passed a school choice law. He went on to say that school choice had become so successful that even if a liberal government gained power they would not be able to repeal it. He said that this success has them looking to see if such principles could be applied to the Swedish national health care system.
I’ve read reports that the wait at Swedish clinics was so long that they had to station police at the clinics to maintain order.
Now I came across the following article which is followed by a video that was linked from the article.
Time to Follow Sweden’s Lead on Fiscal Policy
