I love to fly.  And when I fly, I fly Southwest (SWA), unless my destination is a city SWA does not fly to.

No more.

I still love SWA and if I was going to fly any more, I would still fly SWA.  There are three letters that are making me say I won’t fly. They aren’t SWA.  They are TSA.

Yes, the TSA.  They are full employment agency for McDonald’s rejects that was passed in the aftermath of 9/11.   The TSA has done nothing to make us safer.  It has made travel a huge headache.   It has now made air travel a health hazard and now is providing a wonderful opportunity for wannabe sex offenders.

The TSA has been pushing full body scanners to the horror of innocent American citizens.  This imaging creates a virtual strip search of someone and perhaps even worse, exposes the person being scanned to an amount of radiation that may be harmful.

You can “opt out” if you want.  Of course, you are then subjected to a “pat down.”  Reports are coming into news organizations from across the country of people who have opted out, being subjected to “pat-downs” that are thinly disguised sexual groping, designed to punish them for opting out of being micro waved by the scanner.

What is even worse are the random searches that are done.  Old women and children are selected and are patted down, including intrusive pats into breast and genital areas.

At least for the TSA, this is a new recruiting tool.  I can see their ad on Craigslist right now.  “Why risk prison for groping a stranger, when you can be hired by the government, draw a paycheck and grope to your heart’s content, without the fear of arrest!”

I have my own opt out plan.   I am not flying any more.  Perhaps this is part of the Obama regime’s plan to destroy another sector of the American economy.   Let’s make air travel so objectionable, no one will want to fly and these companies will go out of business.

Regardless, I am not flying any more.  I am not taking my family on a vacation that involves flying.  I am not going to have my wife or teenaged daughter groped by some freak who should be on a sex offender registry.  I am not going to have my grade school sons molested by some freak who is a government employee by day and the head of the local NAMBLA chapter by night.

I am not going to be quiet about this either.  On Monday, I am calling my congressman and my senators.  They will listen if enough people call.  But I am also going to start creating pressure where it really counts: with the airlines.

I am contacting all of them and telling them, as long as this is going on, I am not flying any more.  I urge all of you to do the same.

Call them and ask for the CEO’s office.  You will not get him, but that is not the point.  You will speak to one of their assistants. Politely tell them because of the TSA, you are not flying anymore and you are not going to until you are able to get on a flight without being abused. .   Trust me when I tell you, it will not take many calls before the CEO is told people are calling saying they will not fly anymore.  If the airlines are facing the possibility of losing a lot of money because people are not flying, the procedures will be changed and changed quickly.

Southwest’s corporate headquarters phone number is (214) 792-4000.

Delta’s corporate headquarters phone number is (404) 715-2600.

United’s corporate headquarters phone number is (847) 700-4000.

American’s corporate headquarters phone number is (817) 967-2000.

Call them.  Let’s make traveling an option again, not an opportunity to be sexually violated.

I'm not sure the airlines can do anything about it. TSA was foisted on them and us by our ever lovin' government. One shoe bomber and millions have to take off their shoes! The full body scan doesn't bother me as much as the delays it creates while everyone has to unload every pocket, remove belts, etc. If I didn't have to fly, I wouldn't. I travel in an RV when I can. At least that is not as heavily regulated...yet. TSA is just another government agency we need to get rid of. It hasn't proved effective, just like almost everything the government does outside of protecting the common good.
Pressuring the airlines to fight this obscene intrusion is the most intelligent way to go. The key is to make airlines feel the economic pain by which results from meekly giving along with letting the TSA abuse their customers. By refusing to fly, you FORCE the THEIR lobbyists and THEIR money to work hard for YOUR goals - safety and dignity. Plus, you can be sure the airlines will remain on your side because they know they will be financially punished again, if they ever fail to "straighten up and Fly Right" ... umm ... so to speak. :-)
LOL...

Cute...

But you want to know what will happen first? They'll raise prices on those of us who HAVE to fly. Where's the justice in that? :(
I think that flying is an OPTION not a HAVE TO. Convevince may be something you want but with people haveing group head of orginizational meetings on the internet,,,it seems th me that most of these fly to meetings are realy vacations descised as bissuniss to wright off as TAX EXEMPSIONS in stead as fun. And do we realy have to go to Portavarta to sell anything? Let alone take half of Washing State to China for a jonta.
If God told it to you, would you still dispute it? I think that those who always have a negative rebuttle to common sense are the same idiots that vote for jackasses like Obama in the first place. If the airlines feel the pressure of declining revenues because of governmental interference, they will indeed spend more of their dollars 'fighting' those regulations. If they have to raie prices to stay above the drowning stage, so be it. They also know that people with some modicum of intelligence understand this and will cope with if, even while abhoring it. Once they gain their objectives . . . less government interference . . . these people have sense enough to reduce the prices, grow back the number of seats sold, and regain what has been lost in the interim. Damnfools sit in government offices thinking up oppressive rules to control the population with; people who run airlines simply are not damnfools.
Airlines are businesses. They operate with the intent of making a profit. Airfare prices and the number of flights would have to drop in the attempt to offset any drop in ticket sales.

Looking at the Law of Supply and Demand...
How on Earth would the prices go UP, if the DEMAND went DOWN because many people refused to be abused in order to fly?
You are part of the problem. No guts to stand for something that is WRONG. Tell your company that you cannot fly because YOU object to the tsa policies. Your company can call the airline and complain, then in the next fews days tsa will not longer be in the touchy feelly business. Look past your nose, and see it takes people to make changes.
This is part of why we have stopped Flying - Forever and we Drive everywhere we need to go.
Cheaper and more economical.
Anyone was to "Grope" me like that would soon find themselves subject to a Beat Down and I do mean Wrastling with a Combination Mama Grizzly Bear, Baracuda and Mountain Cat.
I would beat them like a Pinata until the Candy came gushing out.
I would Not allow them to Microwave me in the first part and I would Not allow them to touch me on my Body without a Search Warrant on the 2nd part. Not that I don't have a great deal of respect for the Airlines, I just won't allow Anyone to Violate my body in any way, shape or form.
I also would call my Attorney and have them speak to TSA, all the while threatening a Law Suit if they touched me inappropriately.
I understand fully the need for Anti Terrorism Measures, but this is hardly the way to go about it.
well, this is now the situation in california........... i'll let you all read about it !!!!!!!!!!!!

http://www.aolnews.com/nation/article/tsa-encounter-dont-touch-my-j...

can anyone say " SEXUAL HARRASSMENT "...............
Well said Judson! I will call also - thanks for posting the phone numbers!
They dont use live body bombs anymore,, Now they just ship the bombs by UPS or Fed X......
We need to profile like Israel and stop punishing ordinary Americans. Traveling by air is one of the worst experiences in this country right now.

However, I am in favor of the body scanners as I am a frequent flyer for work. I have an AICD (pacemaker) and quite sick of the pat downs. Like a previous poster I am sick of the delays of having to take off my shoes and rummage through my pockets. I guess this is food for thought for my flight tomorrow to Chicago!
